"Yes," Leah replied. "She went to a specialist to find out what was wrong. Unfortunately, the doctors weren't able to figure it out. Eventually, my parents decided that it was time for her to retire and spend more time focusing on getting better."
"I hope she does get better," Richard said. "My father worries about her a lot. He says that she's getting worse."
Leah smiled. "Your dad loves her very much. I'm sure she knows how much he cares about her."
"You're probably right," Richard said. "Do you think that she has any idea what she's doing to him? He works so hard just so she can stay home all day and take care of herself."
"Maybe she doesn't realize how much it bothers him," Leah replied.
"Or maybe she does," Richard said. "I just don't understand why she won't try to get well."
