"Well, I have to call my dad
to let him know we're coming home tonight, but that shouldn't take long. Then, I have to call Ava's mother to make sure she has someone there to watch her while I'm gone. I'll probably be back around eight or nine. Will that work for you?"
He smiled. "Perfect," he said. "I'm looking forward to it."
She leaned over and kissed him on the lips. He put his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him. It felt wonderful being able to hold and kiss his girlfriend again after all this time.
After she finished making the calls, she changed clothes and left for the store. She picked up what she needed and then headed back home. When she returned, Richard had just gotten off of work.
"Hi sweetie!" she yelled as soon as she opened the door. "How was your day?"
