Over the last few days, with the Crown Princess spending most of her times in her own palace, the day in the royal palace have gone by in peace and quiet. Every single person is happy with this. The one that is obviously happy is her own parents. They are spending time in bliss as they no longer need to worry about their daughter.

Imperial Noble Consort Mei is spending most of her time teaching Lady Mudan, the future princess consort of the Crown Prince, the rules and regulations in the palace. Yes, the Empress just let her handles it because the Empress obviously hates it when it comes to boorish royal customs. Imperial Noble Consort Mei handles it with a smile on her face because Lady Mudan is a lovely young lady and since her parents died, the Empress had instructed for Lady Mudan to live in Yueliang Palace. Lady Mudan is like a daughter for her as well.

She smiled, even more, when she remembers what the Empress had said to her earlier, "Mei Er, can Mudan stays with you and Hua Er? I do wish she can stay with me at Taiyang Palace but that silly husband of ours keep barging in and out of there without any prior notice. That damn son of mine as well. As if I needed them to be there all the time... Maybe we should choose another concubine for our husband? What do you think?"

When she heard the ridiculous suggestion, she laughed till the tears came out of her poor eyes, "Older sister... If our beloved husband hears this, he will sulk for days. Our husband has a rather small heart. Remember that one time when that fox trying to seduce him? Though he swayed a bit, he then kicked her out of the palace and even gave a royal decree for her never ever to step into the imperial palace ever again."

Hearing what she had said made the Empress acted more over the top, "That stupid husband of ours is so fussy!!! Such a nuisance! If there is another concubine, both of us sisters can roam outside the palace like we always did in the past. Hopefully, she will not be like that fox… God forbid!"

Imperial Noble Consort Mei's eyes suddenly sparkle, and she thought that the Empress said the right thing. Maybe they should trap... Eh, work together in order to convince their beloved husband to take another concubine.

"What new concubine? Empress Huihuang? Imperial Noble Consort Mei? Answer this Emperor this instant!"

That damnable but beloved husband of theirs is standing with all his glory behind them and heard their supposedly "girls talk". Imperial Noble Consort Mei suddenly stands up and says, "Older sister... Younger sister suddenly remembers that she had promised Lady Mudan for an outing earlier... Please excuse this concubine, beloved husband" then off she goes leaving the royal couple on their own.

She happily walks away from the trouble brewing ahead. Cunning fox, the Empress helplessly thought to herself.

"Husband, I am just joking... Hehehehehe..." while she acts rather coquettishly with the Emperor.

The Emperor suddenly pulls her into his arms, "Never again, woman. Having you and Mei Er beside me is more than this silly man can handle..."

Empress Huihuang smiles when she heard what he had just said but then she bit her lower lips to stop herself from laughing out loud when the Emperor continues to say, "If Mei Er and Huang Er wanted to go out from the palace, do bring this silly husband along as well. The palace is quite boring you know... Let our stupid son handles the court matters for the time being. Such a brilliant plan, right?"

She rolls her eyes and thought to herself that this silly man obviously looking for a way to escape from his official court duties. Nevertheless, she hugs him even tighter and this makes her silly husband grins more.
