Adriana's POV:
Someone was touching my arms very carefully and with so much affection. I tried to avoid the touch at first but the way those hands were caressing me, I let go of my hands and let those hands hold me.
Soon, those hands were no more touching me. I frowned. I felt the fingers brushing my collarbone and stomach. It made me uncomfortable. I snapped my eyes open and saw him towering above me.
He was so close that I couldn't recognize him at first and a scream was about to make its way out of my mouth but before that he covered my mouth with his hand.
My eyes grew wide in horror. Is he trying to kill me?
He put his finger on his mouth and hushed me. His eyes were holding the same dark and serious look which was creepy enough to shudder my body.
My mind soon filled with all the creepy methods with which he could kill me but he vanished all of them by pointing his finger at Oliver. I sighed in relief when I understood why he was touching me and why he covered my mouth.
He was actually here to take Oliver who was sleeping on my chest. He covered my mouth to muffle my scream that could have terrified my little baby boy.
He carried Oliver in his arms, patted his head and walked towards the room.
"Oh, hello! Where are you taking him?" I whisper yelled behind him.
He turned around, tilted his head, raised his eyebrow and—
"None of your business." He spat, strolling out of the room, leaving me seething in anger.
I threw the blanket away and ran behind him. Coming out of the room, I spotted him laying on the couch with Oliver on his chest. I strode in his direction and stood beside him. My hands were on my waist.
I was about to shout at him but when I saw how innocent they both father and son were looking, I couldn't help but smile. I went back to the room and came out with a blanket. I covered them with it and laid down on the couch sitting opposite them.
It was midnight and my eyes were shimmering with happiness. The sight in front of me was melting my heart. Liam was fast asleep. His lips were parted a little and forehead was creased. Those creases were telling the sad tragic incidents that happened recently in his life.
I sat up on the couch and scrutinize him smilingly before standing on my feet and walking barefooted on the cold floor towards him. I sat on my knees in front of him and pushed away from the wandering strand of his hair from his forehead.
I caressed his forehead with my thumb, straightening those creases. His eyelashes were long and thick. I curled them up with my index finger and then touched his cheeks with the back of my fingers, avoiding his lips which were alluring me but—
But I knew my limits. Sighing, I stood up and strode back to the couch. I closed my eyes though they were demanding me to see him yet I kept my grasp on self-control tight and drifted to sleep.
____________
Liam's POV:
I opened my eyes when I felt some light slaps on my face. When my eyes were fully opened, I saw Oliver giggling. I smiled and pinched his nose. I did this for fun but the little man took it seriously and started crying.
I can't blame him because I could see his nose turning red. Oh! Did I pinch that hard?
"Ow, my baby!" I rocked him in my arms and kissed his nose. He looked at me with his lips bowed down and gave me three slaps on my chest.
"Sorry. Sorry, angry man." I grasped his hands and kissed them.
He is my world. I would have died from the pain Serena left me with if he hadn't in my life. His smile keeps me alluring towards life. I don't want him to bear the consequences of what his mother did. I can even compromise with Adriana for him.
When I gazed up from Oliver's angelic face, I saw Adriana. My jaw dropped when I witnessed the position in which she was sleeping. Her one leg and arm was hanging down from the couch. Her mouth was wide open and hair was all over her face.
I shook my head and looked at Oliver who was looking at Adriana and chanting— "Mommy-Mommy"
Rising up from the couch, I thought about waking her up so she can make breakfast but when I looked at her tired being, I couldn't. I went to the room and made Oliver sit on the bed, surrounding him with the pillows so he would not crawl to the edges of the bed and fall down.
Yeah, I have actually lost my mind and was now going to carry Adriana to the bed so she won't fall on the floor hurting herself because then who would take care of Oliver?
Giving some instructions to my little boy who nodded his head understanding everything, I strolled out of the room. I reached there where she was sleeping and put my hands on my waist to observe her. It took me a few minutes to think about how to gather her up first. Like her limbs were scattered all around her.
I inhaled deeply before putting her arm and leg on the couch and carrying her in my arms. Her arm again fell by her side and I shook my head. Entering the room, I saw Oliver clapping his hands when his eyes landed on her. He was jumping on his spot, opening his arms for her.
I was about to lay her beside him but he screamed, pointing towards his lap. I raised my eyebrow at him. He was asking me to lay her head on his lap.
"She is not a doll," I whispered but he was not ready to hear anything.
Before he could have started crying loudly, I gave up and placed her in his lap. He giggled, grabbing her face and kissing it. It looked all fine and harmless until he started shouting at her. She was fast asleep so she wasn't giving him any response and it infuriated little man. He slapped her lightly and when it didn't work for him, he bit on her nose hard.
I yelped in surprise and before I could have stopped Oliver, we heard a shrill scream. She was up, holding her nose. I carried Oliver in my arms at once and she looked at both of us with fiery eyes.
When she uncovered her face, I saw her red nose. The teeth were imprinted there. I looked at Oliver and his little front teeth and then at the bite mark on her nose. I was shocked.
She hides her face behind her palm and here Oliver's face fell. He thought she was crying but I didn't think so. Oliver looked at me and mumbled "Mommy" in a very low voice.
I looked at Adriana and then at Oliver.
"Uncover your face," I asked her but she didn't do anything.
"Adriana," I called her in a bit stern voice.
"Dada, Mommy." Oliver's eyes moistened with tears.
I told him she was fine but he wasn't satisfied so I put him on the bed. He crawled to her and grasped her wrists, trying to uncover her face but failed. She was, of course, stronger than him.
When he couldn't see her face, he covered his face too and cried loudly. Upon hearing his cries, she uncovered her face at once and pulled him in her lap, hugging him.
"Baby?" She uncovered his face and kissed his forehead. He stopped crying when he looked at her face. He grabbed her face in both of his hands and rested his forehead on her.
My heartfelt something so beautiful after a long time. She really loves him like a true mother and there is no doubt in that.
Smiling at them, I went out to the kitchen to make breakfast for us. I opened the fridge and took out eggs and bread. Today's weather is a bit cooler from usual days so staying indoor would be a good decision. I also have some office work to complete.
I set the table after completing breakfast and heard the giggling sound coming nearer to the dining table. I turned around to see Adriana helping Oliver to walk on his feet. My heart swelled with happiness to see him taking big steps and hasty steps. The look on his face was priceless. It was as if he was floating in the air.
"Come on, baby. Come to daddy." I squatted down and opened my arms for him. Adriana helped him to reach me and when he was just three to four steps away, she let go of him and he covered this distance without anyone's help and fell on me, wrapping his arms around my neck.
The moment he fell on my chest, my heart hit the ribcage and I closed my eyes, feeling the foreign feeling of pride and joy.
"Well done, my little champ!" I said, tickling the sides of his belly.
I looked at Adriana who was looking at both of us with a smile embellished on her face. She has always been good to everyone or this is what I have seen of her. My heart sometimes says that I should not be thinking negatively of her because she looks innocent but Serena was innocent and beautiful too.
Her inside turned out opposite of her outside.
She was dark and evil from inside. She was a devil in the disguise of Angel. Adriana is her sister. They both share the same blood, the same genes, the same traits.
"Liam." I was brought back to reality by her voice. She was waving her hand in front of me.
"What are you thinking?" She asked.
I shook my head and stood up, carrying Oliver in my arms. We are breakfast in silence except for Oliver's giggles and jumbled sentences.
____________
Adriana's POV:
How irresponsible he is!
After having breakfast, he has locked himself in the room where he is doing his work and here Oliver is missing him.
I'm trying to play with him but he is asking for his daddy. Even I left him on the floor for a few minutes and when I came back, I saw him sitting in front of his father's office and knocking on the door while blabbering "dada- dada".
My heart sank at the sight but that cold-hearted man didn't even bother himself to answer to his little innocent son.
I carried him up and knocked on the door. No reply came so I opened it. He wasn't behind his desk so I looked around and found him sleeping on the couch.
"Here is your daddy," I whispered in Oliver's ear and he nodded his head, jumping in my lap.
"Let's wake your daddy up." Saying this to Oliver, I walked to him and placed Oliver down on the carpeted floor. He crawled to the table and started throwing the papers away.
I gasped when I saw his little hand touching the cup of coffee and the very next moment the leftover coffee was staining the papers.
"Oley!" I couldn't hold back the scream. Oliver flinched at this and Liam opened his eyes.
His eyes grew wide when he saw what had happened with those papers. And there I forgot to breathe because I knew what is gonna happen now.
