1879 Words
A long time ago, the land of Oldravia was the most secured hiding place of all wolves, including those were called mixed breed ones. Oldravia was in the highest plateau, overlooking the valley of Avia, the precious river where wolves get to drink and bath. The king and queen of Oldravia were thrilled, seeing that all black and brown-red wolves in their premises were happily mingling with each other in their human form. The land was far from mortals and both were protecting them at all cost from any intruders. Good thing that for hundreds of years, the land of Oldravia were free from enemies. The entire community lived in harmony, sharing and giving wholeheartedly to each of their mates. It was a land full of green grass, and filled with rare and endangered species of plants, flowers, and fruits. A home away from home for those wolves who needed sanctuaries. “You can't beat me!” The brown-red wolf brags his strength in front of him after hitting his face. They were practicing fighting using their bare hands, near the valley of Avia. “I just let you win this time. You have been defeated several times, and it's only okay for me to lost once from you.” The black wolf gave him a sarcastic glare before running away from him. “Hey! That's not fair. I told you not to do that!” The brown-red wolf followed, running as fast as he could. When he finally reached the speed of him, the latter changed into a black wolf. “You're tricking me again!” Both were running in the jungles of Oldravia trying to win the marathon he was presenting to his best friend. When they reached the highest plateau, they stop and breath for a while. “It's really nice taking a deep breath for a while in this plateau. Don't you agree?” The brown-red wolf was gasping his breath while giving him a death glare. The black wolf just smiled at him. No one knew better his attitude than him. Ever since they became best friends, he was competing him. For him, it was just a game, and he feels it would be better not to compete with him. The black wolf has been declared as the winner of Wolf Marathon and Wolf Hunter in the land of Oldravia. The latter won second place. Besides running, swimming, and fighting, he emerged as the best among wolves. Although, the brown-red was quite the temperamental one, black wolf still like his personality. Most of the time, they clashed, but at the end of the day, both were back as best friends. “Do you think I'll buy your trick? What's the next trick hiding up on your sleeve — now? Tell me?” The brown-red wolf was gritting his teeth, holding the black wolf's collar, ready to punch him, while the latter was smiling and slowly closing his eyes. The brown-red wolf controlled his anger and loosen his grip. The black wolf then lie down in the grass and took a nap. “Why don't you calm yourself and lie down beside me? We've been best friends for eighteen years. I know you more than anything else.” “The hell I care. Did I even accept you as my friend?” “I guess so. Maybe.” “Whatever.” The brown-red wolf cooled down and was about to lie down beside the black one when both heard a scream at the foothills of the plateau. Without wasting any time, the black wolf stood up and jumped on the cliff. The brown-red then followed him all the way into the location of the scream. “Stay away from me, you stupid spider!” Both wolves arrived on time and saw a young lady hiding her face, trying to shoo away the spider's cobweb. The black one smiled silently. He never thought that a young lady in their age was afraid of a spider. “The spider was afraid of your scream, lady. It's fine. You can open your eyes now. You do not have to worry the spi—”. The black wolf wasn't able to continue with his words when the lady revealed his angelic face in front of him. The same goes with the brown one, who was also mesmerized by the glow on her face. Both hearts beat like a drum looking at the beautiful face of the girl. “Are you two, all right?” Her voice was even more powerful, preventing both of them to utter any words. “Hey!” They returned to their normal self when the girl shouted at them. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that.” “Right. We. I mean, I'm sorry too. Forgive my rude behavior of starting at you. No. I'm not staring at you. By the way, what were you doing out here?” The black wolf tried to swallow his saliva, thinking of words or questions to ask of her. “What is your name, lady?” Drav made the first move of knowing her. “My name is Oldra. Thank you for understanding me. You are?” she was pointing at them, asking for their name. “I'm Olv.” “Drav.” “I see. I have to return to the palace.” “Palace?” Oldra was surprised hearing both of them asking the word palace. “Yes. I am living in the palace. I am princess Oldra of Oldravia. The only daughter of the king and queen of this land.” Upon hearing it, both bowed in front of her and requested to accompanied her to return to the palace for her safety. The princess was a bit hesitant, but when she noticed how stubborn the two, she agreed. When they reached the castle, Oldra introduced the black and brown-red wolves into her parents. The king and the queen were delighted seeing Oldra safe in the hands of the two lads. Thus, decided to hire them as her bodyguards. Three months passed by and both the princess and her bodyguards became close. She became closer to Olv than Drav because she liked his smile and positivity. They were unseparable, and Drav noticed that the princess seldom spent more time with Olv rather than him. When he saw and heard Oldra's confession in front of Olv, he was angry and furious to the extent that he decided to take revenge. “I love you, Olv.” “I love you, too, Oldra.” Those words stuck into the brown-red wolf's head and was unable to control his emotion. He barged into the castle without permission and slain all the guards, alerting the king and queen inside. The rulers were unable to changed into wolves because Drav stabs both of them in their heart. Unknown to him, in the valley of Avia, Oldra's body weakened, knowing that her parents were in grave danger. With Olv's help, Oldra used her magic to create a portal and entered the palace. She was devastated, seeing her parents' bodies lying on their thrones. When Olv's saw the mastermind behind the killing, he started fighting Drav with his might. Oldra tried to console herself while watching her parents dripped with blood. Instead of blaming herself, she intervened with their fights and confronted Drav. “Why did you kill the rulers of Oldravia, Drav?” her eyes were blazing like fire. “Because of you,” Drav pointed to her. “Because you loved Olv rather than loving me.” “You're crazy, Drav!” Olv suddenly shouted at him. Oldra remained calm and poised. “What must I do to stop you from doing this, Drav? I trusted you.” “Marry me and become my queen to rule Oldravia.” Drav's words fierce Olv's heart and grab Oldra's hands, but Drav immediately thrust his sword into the princess heart. Olv was outraged and changed once again into a wolf, fighting for hours with Drav. Oldra was left trying to breathe, but she can't let Drav succeed. She used the power of the wolf-crystal necklace to split the land of Oldravia and to stop the war between the two. A magnitude of eight point five earthquakes separated the entire Oldravia, giving way into the waters of Avia to flow in the valley she created. It was the only way to separate the black and brown-red wolves from fighting each other. Before passing out, Olv was able to leaned her into his arms and Oldra whispered her last words. “Oldravia will cease to exist. Olvia will become the land of black wolves, while Dravia will be the land of brown-red wolves. For the king and queen Drav killed, I cursed his only child to be betrothed to your only child. Only then, the land of Olvia and Dravia will be reunited as one Oldravia.” … “The end,” Olv said after finishing the story he told to the seven years old son Adolfo and six years old best friend, Geisha. “Wait, now it clears to me. Was that you and your best friend, father? And the woman?” Adolfo was trying to understand the story. Olv just smiled. “One day, you'll understand the meaning and relevance of that story, Adolfo.” Olv patted his head and left the room. “But, father? Why? Who is Drav, and where is he now? Father!” Adolfo keep shouting, but his father Olv just shake its head until he reaches the door and went out, leaving him irritated. “Just listen to your father, Adolfo. Maybe he has his reason,” Geisha suddenly commented and saw Adolfo's piercing eyes. “No, no, no. Don't get mad at me. I was only giving my opinion.” “Really? A six years old can think like an adult wolf? Wow. That's so you, Geisha. Never mind. I have to go somewhere else then. Goodbye.” He walks towards the door, leaving Geisha behind, but the latter just followed him. “Hey, wait up. Can I tag along?” he asks. “Whatever. You are going to make another offer I cannot refuse, so why bother asking me if I can tag you along?” He said, while his hands are on the back of his neck. “I knew that you won't reject every offer I ask, Adolfo. You know I can tell every single secret I know about your whereabouts,” he said, laughing cunningly. “Such a coward, little brat. Have you decided what to do on the upcoming Wolf Marathon and Wolf Hunter games?” Adolfo asks, leaving Geisha speechless. “Do not remind me of that!” Geisha suddenly raises his voice. They were both walking in the hallway and some servants heard him yell. “I'm sorry. It was not my intention to. Just go with your walk things.” Adolfo just laughed then, using his speed, he run away from Geisha. “I'm sorry, Geisha, but not all secrets can be revealed to you.” And when Geisha turned back to follow Adolfo, he disappeared from his sight and shouted again. “Adolfo!”
