"My name is Edward" he politely said,
"Nice to meet you Edward" August replied with a warm smile as they exchanged glances at each other.
A tall broad figure stood in front of her blocking her view,
August stared at an angry James and didn't bother at all that he was there.
"I guess this is my queue Mr Edward" she pulled herself from in front of him,
"It was nice meeting you" Edward bowed,
"Same here" she smiled and left.
"Stay away from her" James husky voice erupted,
"You can't tell me what to do" Edward scuffed,
"I mean it Edward" James reverted,
"And I say No" Edward reverted back.
August was now Edward's spark of light and he wouldn't leave her because his younger brother said so.
He already liked her very much and was ready to get acquainted with her.
James watched the bold figure of Edward exiting the party.
He was so mad that he felt like throwing causing a tantrum.
How could she act like he wasn't there, it hurt him so much that she would ignore him that way but then he thought, he deserved it.
August looked so different from the last time he set his eyes on her, she was now taller with a perfect body.
She spoke with so much elegance as she had conversed earlier with Edward.
Her smile was so bright to the point that he hated it because she was smiling at Edward.
"Did you get to meet her" Kathy startled James by her sudden appearance,
"Yes"
"And" she asked,
"And what?" he questioned,
"Did you get her details" she was excited,
"No"
"What is wrong with you, how would you let such a beautiful woman slide.
What's her name?
Ah yes, August.
You can start looking for her by her name" Kathy suggested,
"I know her" he slowly replied,
"Huh"
"I know her from Rome" James sulked,
"Why do you sound sullen, did you guys have history?" she became curious,
"It's complicated Mom" James felt so down,
"Who was at fault?" she tried to figure out,
"No one" he replied,
"Then how is it complicated" she asked,
"I want to be left alone, i have had enough for today" James slouched.
Kathy was confused on what he meant by complicated, was she at fault or was he at fault.
She knew James as someone who would keep a lot of secrets and no matter how much she would pressurize him, he would never talk unless he was willing to.
Her only source to gather more information was August.
She hastened her steps to relay the news to Lucious who was greeting the guests on their departure.
"Lucious, I need to tell you something" she pulled him away,
"Yes what is it my dear wife" Lucious flirted,
"Our son has a complicated love life" she said,
Lucious couldn't contain his laughter as he laughed so hard.
"What funny?" Kathy questioned,
"Are you sure it is James we are talking about" he asked,
He doubted that James would ever have problems with love.
"Yes" she frowned,
"Okay tell me what is going on" he decided to listen to her,
"The lady who just sang for us has something to do with James" Kathy emphasized,
"Are you sure about that" he asked,
"Yes, I asked him and he indirectly told me" she replied,
"Then you should be happy" Lucious was lost on what to say,
"I think he got rejected" she whispered,
"Is that possible?" he doubted,
"With her, yes. She is a beautiful lady, so she is capable of turning down such a handsome man as our son" she angrily said,
"That's nonsense, no one can turn down my son" Lucious was confident in James handsomeness,
"Let's not argue about how handsome our son is, we need to meet her" she said,
"Why" he asked,
"And demand that she takes him" she raised her eyebrows expressing a frown,
"Why would we do that" he found her idea unreasonable,
"Because he is hurt, just look at him" Kathy pointed,
"He looks okay to me" Lucious glanced at James,
"You men don't always have eyes to see, he is sulking there" She shouted at him,
"I still think he looks fine" Lucious still found nothing wrong,
"Urrrghhh, unbelievable" Kathy had enough of him.
If she was going to handle her son's case, she was going to do it by herself.
"I guess I have to talk to her woman to woman, she must tell me why she rejected my son.
If her reason is not good enough, I will see to it that they get back together.
I need a perfect lady like that for my son and she won't slip away from me"
Kathy giggled as she finalised her plans.
She felt the need to do something for James after he had saved them from the hands of his brother.
"He would be so happy when I sort everything out, and we would have a musician in our family.
Oh, I am so blessed"
She kept on fantasizing.
"With the way you are smiling, I believe you must have planned something" Lucious said after he had watched her giggle with joy for a while,
"Ofcourse, I wouldn't let my son sulk like that" she replied,
"I hope what you plan to do won't worsen the case" he warned,
"No, rather it would bring them together.
Do you know what that means.
Oh am such a genius" She boasted.
