A letter to Elizabeth.

Chapter 3

Eli chuckled nervously. Then they continued touring around the museum.

"So that's it... The history about 78 years ago."

Eli was mesmerized to what she just learned. That she decided to treat him cause he won't accept her p*****t. They went to this cafe near the museum, she ordered a mocha and blueberry cheesecake while Niccolo ordered Mocha. They sat there in silence as they wait for their order to arrive. The sky is dark as if it was about to rain anytime soon, she sighed. She totally forgot to bring her umbrella.

"So how was it so far?" Niccolo ask. "I mean, are staying here for long?"

Eli looks at him then shook her head.

"No, it's just a week of vacation."

"Hmm..." Niccolo hum then put his head on his hand watching her.

"What are you doing?" She scoffed. "Don't stare you are making me uncomfortable."

"It's not staring it's called looking."

Eli rolled her eyes, good thing their orders arrived and they decided to have a bite in peace.

"Elizabeth have been in this prison cell near the Pampano street?"

Eli's head lift suddenly excited about the conversation.

"Yes, I've been there yesterday, too bad I was just there for an hour."

"Want to go there again?"

"Count me in!" She said excitedly but when she realize her excitement she compose herself then cleared her throat. "I mean, of course I would to visit that place again."

A sexy chuckled escape on Niccolo's lips then he took a napkin to wipe his lips.

"I'll be going there after this, wanna come?"

Eli looks at him hesitantly she just don't trust that easily.

"Don't worry, you are safe with me."

Eliza rolled her eyes before nodding.

"Okay..." Then she focus herself on drinking and eating as if Niccolo didn't exist. After that they both travelled to that prison cell, it was almost dark and the sky is about to pour a large amount of rain anyminute but it didn't stopped them.

"Should we continue? What if we get caught?"

"Are you scared?" Niccolo said. "I'm just kidding, no one is around anymore people nearby will choose not to walk here because they thought this place is haunted."

"What?! Haunted?! This place is freaking epic!" She complained.

Niccolo jump on the fence first then he land her his arms, Eli was just looking at him the whole time mesmerized on how handsome the man infront of her is.

"You can take a photo if you want."

Eli immediately look away.

"Dream on!"

She just heard Niccolo chuckled, she took the flashlight inside her bag that she usually bring. She light it on and walk towards the gate. The same feeling she felt yesterday was coming back to her, she was excited and agitated to visit these place again.

"All the prison cell here are lock." He positively said but Eli just chuckled.

"You are wrong, there is this one prison cell in here that is unlocked. Come on follow me."

Confused, Niccolo followed her. They walk side by side in silence till they reach the cell.

"No it was lock Eli trust—" but his words were cut off when Eli push the metal door.

"See? I told you."

Eli entered the cell first then Niccolo came behind her. It was dark and foggy, she felt a wind touching her skin so she caress her shoulder up and down. Then she took her bag and being out the paper that she took and showed it to Niccolo.

"Look, I found it in here."

Niccolo took the paper in her hand, he was about to unfold it when a loud thunderstorm startled them both then the rain started pouring.

"I'm sorry..."

Eli flushed when she realize that she is hugging Niccolo. She immediately composed herself and fix her hair.

"I think we should leave."

They bot agreed and leave the cell, they went to the front door but they both gasped when they realize that it was already flooding.

"But the rain just started right?" She said.

Niccolo sighed and started walking.

"Why are you walking back there?!"

Niccolo looks back to her.

"We won't be able to passed that flood, it was safe to be here for the night."

Eli sighed and watch the rain. Then she decided to went back and be with Niccolo, as if she have a choice.

Eli was sitting on the ground whole Niccolo is looking at the window. The rain didn't even stop, she also left her phone at the hotel while Niccolo didn't have one so they lost count of time.

"I think that the rain won't stop, you should sleep Eli."

Eliza sighed, as much as she want to she can't. Her mind were wondering around not wanting her to sleep.

"I have a question." Eliza whispered. "How old are you?"

Niccoloooks back to her, he walk towards the table and sat on the ground leaning on the wall.

"I'm 29." He said. "And you?"

"24, do you have a girlfriend?" Eli was stunned to her owned question. She gulp and look away. "You don't have to answer—"

"I don't. And you?"

"I have a fiancee." She said.

Niccolo was shut and look away, the silence fell to them again till Niccolo fell asleep and she was left awake. Feeling bored Eli stood up and walk towards the table, she slowly reach for the drawer and slowly opened it. Her eyes widened

Bunch of old looking papers are inside, it was really old but still in good condition. With her trembling hand Eli reach for one and went nack to her sit. She immediately opened the paper and point the flashlight on it.

'Dear Eli.

It was morning and I'm still thinking of you, sleep is really avoiding my sanity and it kept on thinking about you, Have you eaten? Me? I never had a good meal here for once. But don't worry about me, I'm trying to survive and really hoping to get out of here to meet you again.

I was working really hard for them to give me a paper, my heart and soul is missing you Eliza. I'm trying to survive at the thought of you. I'm really stress out since the day I was put in here, I'm scared and sad of not seeing you again. I'm not even scared of my own life anymore.

Eli if you ever find someone who will love and protect you? I will be very happy, still I'm hoping that one day? You'll be in my arms again.

Eliza's eyes were full of emotions, it was like she is that Elizabeth Rodeen Santos in the letter. Carefully she stood up and took a couple of letters and put it inside her bag. She was about to sat on her place when she heard Niccolo's groaned.

"Niccolo?"

But there is no response, Niccolo is still asleep but he keeps on moaning and groaning as if he was in pain. She walk towards his direction and sat infront of him her hand trembled as she slowly raise it to touch his forehead.

"Niccolo?"

Then slowly Niccolo opened his eyes.

"You are having a nightmare?"

Niccolo kept on silent, he was just looking at her. Eli felt uncomfortable but something inside her wants that looks he is giving.

"Are you okay?"

But Eli was froze in her place when Niccolo suddenly move, he cupped his face and place a kiss on her lips. But instead of pushing him away her arms were encircled to his neck and as the second pass by she find herself kissing him back.
