"Where's Blane?" Krys ask as soon as he entered the office. Knight was sitting on their father's swivel chair with his feet on top of the table.
Basic arrogant future CEO attitude.
"He left," he responded with no emotion.
"Why?"
"He felt sick,"
Krys let out an unbelievable gasp, "he's pregnant. It's given that he feels sick every time and yet you just let him go alone? What if something happens to him?"
Knight didn’t argue with him anymore. His brother was right. Pregnant omegas are prone to sickness especially nowadays.
“What happened here again?” they both look at the door, their parents just entered the office, and they didn’t see them coming, “And where is Blane? I want to invite him to dinner tonight,”
“Blane left,” said Krys. His father knew something wasn't right. The small kid left without saying anything and didn't bother to text his friend, so there's really something. He started to suspect his son Knight in this situation.
Krys turned his gazes at his brother who didn't even take a flinch.
"Why did he leave, Knight?” he emphasized.
The cold alpha was about to respond when his younger brother cut him off. He looked at him, glaring and when he talked s**t about him, he was dead from the moment when their parents even blink.
“Blane already texted me earlier. He said that he needs to go home to take his medicines,” Krys said. Their parents got convinced since they trust Krys instead of Knight.
Knight is the type of son who knows nothing but to rebel, being cold-hearted while Krys is the favorite one who is adored by everyone. He's kind, thoughtful, everything while his older brother was the opposite.
"Okay. Did you tell him about the dinner?" Their father asked.
"Yes. I texted him already,"
He nods as he takes off his leave again. As the door closed, the two were relieved because they didn't ask more questions.
Knight felt grateful to his brother for covering him and didn't drag him down. But of course, Knight doesn't know how to say thank you, so he will just keep it to himself.
If Krys told them that he let Blane go alone, they would burn into flames and do non-stop ranting in front of him.
"Dad is expecting Blane to be there tonight. If I were you, you should go to his place to pick him up," Krys said.
"You know that I don't know where he lives, right?"
Krys rolled his eyes at his brother and took his phone from his pocket to type something, "don't worry. I already texted you his address. If you don't want to, just give me a call and I will be the one who will pick him up," after that, Krys grabs his bag and left the office.
Knight was in deep thought about what his brother just said. He can’t let him pick his future husband. He should be the one doing that since he’s the fiance and Krys was only his friend.
He should be a man starting today because he will have his own family soon.
He grab his phone that was on the wooden table and checked Krys’ message. The address was not that far away but he knew the street was not for elite people. It is a building where broke college students rent. He checked his wristwatch and he assume that Blane was already home by now. He left the office and told his father’s secretary to inform him that he had to run some errands.
Knight will never text Krys that he can’t pick Blane. He will go to the dinner tonight with Blane and not Blane with Krys.
The elevator reached the basement to where the parking area and Knight walked into his car. Hopping inside then starts off the engine and drove off to Blane’s place.
It’s only a couple of minutes to be there.
As he arrived, he parked his car and hopped off. He checked his phone again to see what floor and room number he is.
Krys must’ve been here too many times since he texted me all the details. Well, what can I say; I mean, they’re both friends.
He looked at the apartment building and he didn’t expect the exterior. It’s not that bad. There are a lot of expensive cars parked outside the apartment. Maybe he got that all wrong.
He entered the lobby and it was nice and cozy. Okay, he’s sorry for judging the place earlier but he can’t help it.
He ride the elevator and pressed the floor number. Not that long, he hopped out and find the room number. It was down the hall.
He can’t help himself but feel stupid. First, he was throwing harsh words at Blane earlier, and now, he is visiting him like he was going to apologize.
It was a hypocritical move.
It’s not him, anyway, it was his father’s order about the dinner but he can’t just let Krys pick his future husband.
He’s not jealous, right? He was just doing the role of the material husband.
Knight was already in front of the Blane door. He was still nervous and didn’t have the confidence to knock on his door. He was scared, what if Blane will close the door in his face? But Blane is too nice, he can’t be rude to people. He can’t even hurt a fly.
Fuck it. It’s not or never.
He knocked slowly and suddenly the door opened. Blane was shocked when he saw Knight in front of his door. He got anxious because what if Knight will throw insults and harsh words again?
“Uhm, H-Hi,” Blane started. He doesn’t want a fight tho, “Uh, c-come in,” he steps aside and opens the door for Knight. The taller gladly accepted the invite and entered the room. He scanned his eyes on the place. It was a small studio apartment with a small kitchen and a small living room. A typical unit for one single person.
“Ha-have a seat,” Blane said as he dash into the kitchen to grab something to drink. He was still in shock that Knight Fitzgerald was inside his apartment. Why would a handsome rich man would go to his small place?
Knight sat on the couch and still scanning the place.
“I have orange juice. I don’t have coffee,” Blane stated as he placed the glass of juice on the coffee table in front of Knight.
“Do you know why am I here?” Knight asked him right away.
“N-No,”
“Well, I’m here to pick you up. My dad wanted to have dinner and he invited you for tonight.”
