“Well, I’m here to pick you up. My dad wanted to have dinner and he invited you for tonight.” Knight said. The smaller was still uncomfortable with the Fitzgerald family. Not now but maybe soon, he can adjust to them.
"My brother will be there too. Don't worry," he added. Although Knight is disgusted for saying those words, he still needs to convince the smaller to go with him, or else he's dead. He wanted Blane to go with him and not because Krys was there too as he mentioned. He wanted Blane to go with him because he wants to be with him and not any more covering excuses.
"O-okay," he muttered.
Knight smirked at him but at the same time, he felt kind of sad. At first, he didn't respond but when he mentioned Krys, it was automatically okay with him.
He can't blame his brother for that. He is everyone's favorite.
Blane felt awkward since the room was covered in silence. Knight wasn't talking to him anymore and he doesn't have the urge to talk to him either. He's still kind of hurt by what the taller one said to him; also, he had no idea what to talk about if he will be the first one to make his move.
Knight scanned his eyes on his surroundings when he noticed something familiar.
It was a black bolster pillow. The pillow was really familiar to him because he had the same one as well but the bolster that Blane had were more good-looking than his. He took it by his hand and looked at his edges.
"Where did you buy this? It's cute," Knight asked as he couldn't keep his eyes on the pillow.
"Oh. That was Krys'. He must've left that when he slept over last night," Blane explained.
That made Knight fumed in anger.
Krys, again.
There's not a minute that that person's name is mentioned. EVERY TIME.
He suddenly let go of the bolster and stood himself up from the couch. Blane eyed him and stood up also.
"I'm leaving. I'll pick you up after an hour," Knight coldly said. The smaller one was confused because Knight was talking to him in a calm way and now he was fuming anger. Did he say something negative? The duality of the attitude.
"O-oh. O-okay," he said. He led Knight to the front door when suddenly, Knight turned around to face him.
"Listen, if you're thinking that I planned this, it's never going to happen. My father insisted on it. I will never go to a place like this," the alpha said. The pregnant omega was a bit sad because he thought that Knight was sincere and making up for what happened earlier.
He shouldn’t be expecting things especially when it comes to Knight, an infamous alpha who knows nothing but being self-centered and arrogant. Marrying him would be a disaster because who would want to marry a guy with that kind of attitude.
Knight wouldn’t go to such a place like this unless someone put a knife on his neck and threatened him as his life depended on it.
Blane didn’t say a word anymore but nodded. It’s no use saying anything to him, instead, he just opened the door for him and waits for him to disappear into his small apartment.
He doesn’t want to hear any harsh words, anymore.
As Knight left, Blane slowly closes the door without saying goodbye. He’s pretty sure that Knight doesn't want his goodbye as well. He went to his living room again to grab the glass of juice and throw it away although Knight didn’t touch it. How stupid is he to touch some dirt. He poured the juice onto the sink and wash the glass with clean water and soap when suddenly someone knocked on his door again.
It was weird of him to think that Knight would be the one knocking again, he just left. Also, it’s not definitely Krys because he will text Blane before he comes over. Maybe it’s the landlord since he still hasn’t paid his rent yet.
Blane wiped his hand dry and walked into his door. He opened the door slowly and his eyes widens when he saw the least he was expecting. It was his stepfather.
His knees became weak after seeing him. He is the reason why he ran away from their home. His stepfather knew his address but he never visits him, ever. But why now?
“Dad, let’s go,” his stepsister hissed as she kept pulling him away from the door,
“Shut up!” he yelled and turned back to Blane, “Now I know why you left. It’s because to sleep around and w*****g yourself?” he started.
Blane defended himself as soon as possible. This conversation is useless.
“Omegas like you can’t help but be a slut. Now, that you got yourself pregnant, I assume you can take good care of yourself now. What I’m doing here is I want you to pay everything,” the evil stepfather demanded.
“P-Pay what?”
“I want you to pay me everything that I spent. Since the day you stayed with us, under my roof,”
Blane didn’t know what to do. He’s not rich and he sure knows that he can’t pay him that much.
“Dad, stop it, let’s go. This is so embarrassing,” his stepsister pulled him with a little force since she was too embarrassed that the neighbor might hear his father making a scene.
“Keep this in mind, the child that you carry will be like you. A useless nothing but a toy that alphas play with. That’s what omegas role in this world. Nothing but a slut,”
“I said let’s go!” as she pulled him real hard, Blane’s stepfather was glaring at him. Blane didn’t do anything but to wiped his tears.
Where is this coming from? His stepfather just burs into his doors and demands some p*****t for the years that he spent on his house. They all know that Blane is not rich. He may be had a part-time job but it wasn’t enough to pay for his everyday living.
Blane closed the door and locked it. He doesn’t know what to do anymore. He leaned on the door as he wiped his tears. He knows that he gets emotional because of his hormones. By attacking him with some hurtful words, he gets so weak and vulnerable but he can endure it. He can take every single word that the world throws at him but if it’s about his child, it’s too much.
He’s sensitive.
He’s weaker.
Blane bit his lip from crying but it didn’t help. He glanced at the clock and he had only 30 minutes left and Knight will pick him up. It’s embarrassing to have dinner with his family because he doesn’t have fancy clothes. He had some old used clothes.
Before he goes to his bedroom to freshen up, a sudden knock can be heard again.
Not again.
Blane opened the door once more, scared that his stepfather will come back again but it's not.
It was Knight.
… and he was thankful that it was Knight.
“Did you cry?” he sternly asked.
“W-What?” he stammered, “N-No! No, I didn’t. I didn’t cry. It was the dirt. I haven’t cleaned my apartment yet so the dirty landed on my eye,” he faked laughing.
Lies.
Knight wasn’t stupid.
He knew that the small pregnant omega cried.
He can lie as much as he wants but for Knight, he knew everything.
He knew he was lying.
He knew what happen and the reasons for his tears.
He heard everything.
