Chapter 9: Savage

Cora’s Point of View I woke up with a headache. I tried to move my hand to hold my head, only to realise they were tied up above my head. I opened my eyes promptly, discovering myself leaning against the cold wall. My eyes moved up to find that long, heavy chain around my hands. The room I was in was shabby and dark. I pulled my hands down in an attempt to make them accessible but failed miserably. The metallic sound resonated in the room. “Cora,” a hoarse voice grabbed my attention. I moved my eyes to my right to find Lily tied on the wall. Just like me. Her forehead was bleeding. “Lily!” I felt the dryness of my throat as I talked. All I could remember going to the bar. Then Lorenzo’s men brought us someplace else. But why would he capture us like that? “Are you okay?” I asked her. “Yes.” she nodded twice. Suddenly, the door opened with a creak. Bright light hit my pupils, forcing me to close my eyes. A couple of footsteps rang in my ears. Then I heard another click. With that, I sensed someone walking closer to me. Someone’s fingers grabbed my face by my chin, making me open my eyes. The room wasn’t dark anymore. That high power tube brightened up everything like daylight. My gaze fell on the familiar face. That moron was the one to kidnap us. He was in his late twenties. His facial gestures were intimidating. His dirty breath touched my nose, making me sick to my stomach. “Not bad,” he smirked, examining my face. Then he moved to Lily and held onto her face similarly. “Even better,” he muttered. “Let’s see how you perform.” He grinned. I hated his smile. “Untie her,” he ordered, and another guy came forward with a key. He unlocked the chains and moved them from her hand. Then he pushed her harshly, causing Lily to stumble. Two other men were in the room. Soon I heard the door opening again, and with that, another man came in with a laptop. “Boss is here, Travis,” he said. That guy who was observing us turned towards the man. So, his name was Travis. Who was their boss? Was it really Lorenzo? No, he would never chain us up like this. No matter how much my mind tried to make him guilty, my heart reasoned with it. Maybe he was a bad guy, perhaps dangerous. He could threaten Val and Austin, he could kidnap us, but he would never hurt me. ‘Why wouldn’t he, Cora? Who are you to him? Don’t you remember how he abandoned you three years back? You went on a date; you shared a moment. You returned home with a happy heart. On the same night, you found him with another girl, making out passionately, declaring out loud she was his everything. And on the very same day, you found him gone. Why am I even supporting him?’ My mind was going back and forth. “Put it here. The show is about to begin,” Travis instructed, asking the man to put the laptop on a chair in front of us. The video call was on. I could see another man in his fifties on the screen. “Travis,” that man called his name. “Show me that girl.” He ordered. He was their boss. Definitely not Lorenzo. A part of my heart was relieved. Another part shivered in an unknown fear. If it wasn’t him, then who was it? “Yes, boss.” Travis placed the laptop correctly, adjusting the chair so that the man could see us. “Why two?” He asked. “They were making commissions,” Travis replied. “Interesting.” That guy on the laptop smirked. “Let’s see which one worth more in the market.” Market! We weren’t commodities. Who the hell did he think he was? “Of course,” Travis replied. Then his eyes moved towards Lily. “You, come here and seduce him,” he asserted, indicating one of the men standing by his. Was he crazy? “I… I’m lesbian.” She exclaimed. Her eyes moved to me once. She was trembling in fear. “Not from today,” Travis repeated. “Who are you? What do you want?” I yelled in rage. How dare he say such a thing to my girlfriend. As I finished, Travis walked near Lily and slapped her hard, causing her to fall to the ground. Tears flooded her face. She held her cheek with one hand, whereas her other hand was on the floor, supporting her frame. Her long hair was all falling clumsily on her back, on her face. “Rule number one, never question. Talk only when you are asked to,” Travis snapped. “Now stand up and seduce him. We don’t have the entire day.” He ordered Lily. Lily looked at me once with scared eyes. She bit her lower lip to avoid any noise. “Please… don’t hurt her,” I mumbled, and with that, they hit Lily again. Blood oozed out from her lips. Only if my hands were opened I would have taken down all of them. “Stand up and remove your clothes.” He ordered again. Lily was still not moving. I knew how scared she was. But her dignity was higher than fear. And it was her life they were threatening. She would never obey them for sure. Travis was surprised, still seeing Lily in the same position. “You stubborn b*tch!” Travis spoke in frustration, taking out his gun from his pocket. With a click, he unlocked his gun and targeted her head. Lily kept her position still. But his action made my heart pounding louder. I couldn’t even utter a word in fear. Would they shoot her? Who were they? What did they want? I was just a normal girl. “Stand up, you w***e,” Travis yelled. Lily had clearly frustrated him. Lily didn’t make a move. “I’m gonna count three.” He said again. “Lily… no,” I mumbled. “One… two… and” Lily was still at her position. I closed my eyes in fear, waiting for three. But three never came. “Hm,” Travis hummed. I opened my eyes again. “Unchain the other one,” he ordered. A man came near me to remove the chains. My hands became free. Pointing the gun at me, he spoke, “stand up and seduce him. Else she will die.” Lily looked at me again. “No,” a faint voice left her lips. She stood up with much difficulty. “Good,” Travis smirked in satisfaction. “Now remove your clothes.” He ordered. Lily’s gaze fell on me again. Her tears never stopped. Slowly, she took off her trousers. Then she took off her top. She was left with only on her inner. Travis walked closer to her. His eyes travelled on her chest, then on her flat belly to her thigh. “She is good.” The man on the laptop remarked. My blood was boiling. I hated him; I hated Travis. My eyes scanned the room. Only three men were there, other than Travis. They were standing there reluctantly. All their eyes were on Lily. Of course, she had a perfect figure. It was a good chance for me. I peeped at Travis once. He was still holding the gun, but his grip and aim both were disinclined. I wasn’t in my best shape. But I had to try, at least. Taking a deep breath, I tried to think of a plan. Maybe I would get only one change. Once we get out of this room, that won’t be the end of it. We need to go out of this manor. Again, the area was remote. We could probably take their car. Calm down, Cora. You can do it! My inner self encouraged. “Kneel,” Travis instructed her again. Lily again looked at me hesitantly. “You don’t want to? Very well,” he glared at her and then made his way to me. Suddenly, holding my hair, he slammed me against the wall. A whimper left my mouth as I could feel the pain. “No!” I heard Lily screaming. “Give me the knife,” Travis spoke again. Then I felt him. His dirty hand removed my top, tearing it apart using the knife. Then he let go of my hand. I stood closer to the wall, holding up whatever was left on my torso. “Please… I will do anything… anything… please,” Lily’s pleading rang in my ears. I stole a glance only to find her on the floor again, kneeling before than man. “Good! Unbuckle his belt and take out his d!*k.” His eyes were on Lily, though he was standing close enough. It was my chance. I grabbed him from back and punched on his jawline, making him flinch. He was surprised at first, so was others. The gun in his hand fell to the ground. I slid it towards Lily. “Grab it and run,” I yelled, whereas I grabbed the knife from Travis and stabbed him hard on his knees. He groaned in pain. That’s right, su*ker! Lily was dumbfounded. So were others in the room. I rushed near her and held her up, “come, let’s go.” We ran out of the room before they could catch us. “Mother F*cker! Get them.” I heard Travis yelling. For a moment, I was happy. We ran out of the room. We could grab their car and drove back as I thought earlier. Only then I realised how wrong I was. We didn’t even take three steps from the room when we found ourselves surrounded again. Lily grabbed my hand, looking at me in fear. “Did you really think you can run?” I heard Travis again from behind.
