Lorenzo’s Point of View
As her hand touched my face, the sound resonated in the silent room. That wasn’t enough. She accused me of everything. Partially it was my fault. Didn't she also share the blame? Who asked her to run away from me?
My eyes fell on hers. Those deep, green ones were the one what flipped my world upside down. What hadn’t I done to keep her safe? My mind went back to three years ago when all these started.
Three years ago
The loud music and the wine were exactly what I needed. I laid on my back on the couch, closing my eyes, feeling the rhythm. Soon the door opened. A smile formed on my lips.
“Take off your clothes and start immediately,” I asserted, without opening my eyes. Finally, I was on holiday. Since I had taken over my family business, I hardly had any free time. But now, it was different. Marco, our main threat, was gone. And Austin, one of my closest buddies, was getting married. So, I deserved this break, away from my country Italy, away from my business. Suddenly the music was turned off.
“What?” A male voice spoilt my mood.
I opened my eyes promptly, looking at Antonio, standing near the door with a file.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I was irritated. I left him in Italy to look after my business.
“These needs your sign,” Antonio replied.
“And you travelled all the way here just for this? Are you out of your f*cking mind?” I stood up.
“Well, your mom sent me.” He put the file as he ambled to the couch and leaned on it.
“What the hell!” I was more than irritated this time. Mom kept doing this. She kept sending Antonio everywhere.
“Well, you know the reason. Pretty easy, get married!” He scoffed.
That was right! My mom always tried to pair me with one of her friend’s daughters. Well, some of them were really good in bed. But I never intended to marry any. Sleeping with only one woman? Every f*cking day? Just not me. But my mom saw it otherwise. She thought I had someone in my mind, and I wasn’t just willing to introduce her to my family because of our background.
I took a sip from my wine, smelling it as I spoke, “I have exquisite taste for everything, Antonio. Be it wine, be it, woman.”
“And what does it supposed to mean?” He raised his eyebrow.
I grabbed the wine from the table and emptied it into my glass. It was one of those expensive ones. Keeping the empty bottle in my hand, I fixed my eyes at it, “I devour their taste and then throw them away once I empty them.”
“Your policy isn’t going to last long. Be prepared to say goodbye to your freedom for good.” Antonio smirked.
I put the bottle down as my eyes travelled towards him. His voice was suspicious. Of course, he wasn’t here just to ‘keep an eye’ on me.
“You have five seconds to tell me the entire story. Speak.” I spoke in a cold voice.
“Look… that’s not my fault! Your mom did that.” He repeated.
“Why are you here?” I asked him again.
“Um… Rachel is here… and your mom sent me to babysit her.” He smiled nervously.
Rachel! That blondie with amazing curves. I was the one to devour her honey first. So, f*cking seductive. I kept her around for almost a week. Eventually, I lost interest and moved on with another beauty.
“Why the hell is she here?” I was irritated.
“She has some personal business. And rest, you can guess.” Antonio replied. “Well, I’m leaving. You apparently have a date tonight.”
Of course, mom had set up that so-called date for me.
“I can’t. I’m going to the bar. It’s Daniel’s bachelorette party.” I grinned. Rodriguez’s party meant fun. Definitely girls.
“Look, I’m just a messenger. Rest is up to you,” he turned to leave.
As soon as he left, the girl from the escort service came up. I wasn’t in the mood anymore, so I sent her away.
D*mn it! Why the h*ll Rachel came up? I already made things clear between us. Grabbing my shirt, I got ready for the party. I really need a good relaxation today. My eyes fell on the watch. It was almost five.
I left the hotel and drove to the bar. My gaze scanned the area. The bar was empty. Only the guests were allowed in. my sight looked for Austin or Daniel. Soon they found them. As I made my way towards them, my steps were blocked by some clumsy beauty. Her attire was simple, only a pale pair of jeans and a black top, totally out of the party theme. Her hands were glued to a tab, and probably her eyes were too.
For a moment, she looked at me. Then her eyes showed irritation, “are you blind or what?”
Wait, what? Wasn’t she the one to bump into me?
“Excuse me?” I frowned.
“It should be 'I’m sorry,' not excuse me.” She spoke again, pointing the finger at me. That was interesting. I couldn’t help but smile. I always received seductive smiles, warm voices, sweet kisses and begging from the girls I met. The yelling and blaming were new. This one was a little feisty, I guessed.
I moved my eyes to check her out. She was lean, not that curvy. I tried to eye measure her curves. Suddenly the noise of finger spanning disturbed my view.
“Eyes over here,” she asserted, ordering me to look at her face. She was indeed something. I couldn’t help but lean over her face.
“I won’t mind lips either. Even better,” I smirked, unable to restrain the chance to tease her.
“Shameless jerk,” she muttered, pushing me away.
Before I could continue, Austin showed up.
“Lorenzo!” He greeted.
“Hello, brother,” I replied, moving my eyes from that rowdy girl to Austin.
“Hey man, what’s up.” Daniel also came by. Then his eyes fell on Cora. “I suppose you’ve already met each other.”
I followed his gaze and smiled. “Hard to say, Daniel,” my gaze shifted to him again.
“Well, this is Cora,” he introduced. “And Cora, this is…”
Before he could complete it, Cora responded, “a shameless jerk. I can’t believe you’re friend with him.” With her words, she made her way out of the bar.
Fascinating! My eyes followed her back until she disappeared from my sight.
“What have you done, Lorenzo?” Austin’s serious voice grabbed my attention.
“Nothing,” I replied.
“Man, not that one,” Daniel remarked.
“Why not?” I smirked. They knew me very well. They knew exactly what I was looking for. A delicious one night stand with a wild cat.
“That’s right. She is Valerie’s friend. If you offend her, my home will be in the fire.” Austin protested.
“True. And mine won’t marry me.” Daniel commented.
“What?” I was amused with their reaction.
“My little wife owes Cora her life, Lorenzo. So, stay away.” Austin warned me this time.
Present
That was the very first time I saw her. With those eyes of her, that wild nature with a cute nose and red cheeks, she stole my heart in a blink even before I could realise it. Look at me! I was thinking about those moments from three years back like an i***t. I acted against my will and left her just to keep her away from all those wolfy eyes. My last three years were dedicated to hunting down every f*cking guy who saw me with Cora, just to protect her. Hell, I was even stabbed in between all this chaos and couldn’t even get time to heal as I heard about her being captured. After all this, what do I get? A slap! An insult in front of my men. A rejection.
I couldn’t take it well. My reasoning was lost. Holding her hand, I pulled her closer. Before she could realise, my lips were on her. I bit her lips hungrily, tightening my grip on her waist. She protested, throwing her fist, her legs, but I ignored them and kept her in her place. That little wild cat! My sweet cupcake. I needed this kiss. After devouring her mouth, I pulled away. She was panting for air.
“This is your punishment for insulting me in front of my men.” I asserted, staring into her eyes. Her weary eyes were still fuming with anger. Leaning over her face, I muttered, “if you ever disrespect me again, I won’t mind continuing our kiss.”
“Stay away! Ah!” She shrieked at my reaction, trying hard to wiggle out.
But her hands were caged in mine. Suddenly she wrapped her legs around mine, trying hard to pull me down. What a wild little cat! I couldn’t help but smile as I tackled her legs with ease and scooped her up from the ground. With ease, I threw her on my shoulder as I declared, “you are coming with me.”
