Lorenzo’s Point of View
Marco was out there, looking for her like a crazy lunatic. Hell, he even had proved what he could do. There was no way I would leave her alone in such a mess. My heart knew well; she would retaliate. To be honest, I had no energy to deal with her teenage attitude right now. So, all I could do was force her to leave.
Throwing her on my shoulder, I made my way out of the room. Suddenly I felt her hands surrounding my waist from the back. What the hell was she doing this time. Quickly I peeped on her, only to feel her sliding from my shoulder. She was really something.
With a sigh, I tightened my grip around her waist and spanked on her a*s.
“A*shole!” She responded quicker than I thought, slamming her knees on my chest, hurting me in the exact position where I was stabbed. I groaned in pain. The bandage hidden under my shirt became wet. Inhaling deeply, I hide my pain as I spanked her again. She deserved this.
“Stop wiggling unless you’re enjoying this,” I added. She froze at my reaction.
“Put me down,” she demanded, though her voice was laced with embarrassment.
With a sigh, I put her down. She straightened her posture. Her eyes promptly moved towards that girl, Lily, while her legs were ready to rush near her. My one hand was on the opened wound, and another voluntarily curled around her waist. I could never bear the sight of her being with someone else.
“You are coming with me,” I repeated.
“Never!” Forcefully, she freed herself from my clutch. My chest was hurting in between all these commissions. I felt the warm liquid touching my palm. Elijah gave me a worried look as his eyes fell on my shirt, which was showing a faint red. He was about to say something, but I stopped him with a glare.
Cora made her way towards Lily, leaving me in my miseries. How could she be so cruel? All your love was for her, cupcake, and nothing for me? A pang of pain surrounded my chest. I went through a lot just to keep her safe. And that was what I received in return! My patience wore off. With a swift movement, I took out my gun again and pointed it towards Lily.
“Move another step, and she will die.” A growling warning came out of my mouth. Her gaze followed the path my gun was pointing at, towards Lily’s forehead. Her eyes filled with hatred.
“No…” A gasp left her mouth as she moved to hide Lily from my weapon, standing in the middle.
So, you could even die for her, Cora? Her every action was making me hate that Lily more and more.
“You know what? Killing her is just too easy.” A sudden idea rose in my mind as I put the gun back in my pocket.
“How about I continue doing what Marco was doing?” My eyes were fixed at her, daring her to say a word.
“How about I sent you mommy to perform a pole dance?” I asked Lily, tilting my head. I walked closer, taking a good look at her curves. She was charming, but not more than my cupcake. Bending my knees, I sat on the floor. Lily was staring at me blankly.
“Not bad!” I smirked. “How about I sell you in a brothel?”
“You will do no such thing, Lorenzo.” A sharp warning came out from Cora.
Turning my head, I smiled at her, hiding my pain, “oh, don’t be worried about her. I will send Valerie to company her.”
“How dare you? Austin sees you as a brother!” She spat, disgusted.
“It’s you, bothering them, cupcake.” I grinned again. “Come with me, and no one will get hurt.” I slowly stood up from my position, taking steps towards her. She was frozen at her place. Her eyes were blank for a moment. Then they moved to her so-called lover. A sadness wrapped those beautiful eyes. Slowly, they fell on me again, angry and disgusted. Her detested gaze brought another pile of pain.
I wanted to treat you nicely; I wanted to explain everything. But you were never ready to listen, cupcake. Very well. I will handle you in my way now. I will make you feel the pain and emptiness I felt in the last three years. I swear I’ll make you regret it. I vowed to myself.
Cora’s Point of View
I couldn’t believe my ears. When Lily warned me about Lorenzo, I still had some hope. I had always seen him as a mischievous, flirtatious, playboy billionaire. That cold smile and aloof face brought a shiver down my spine. He was not what I thought of him. Those piercing eyes were intimating, daring me to speak another word against his will. I had never seen this side of him. His eyes were never that deadly, not even when he was targeting Travis.
My eyes fell on Lily. Her half-naked torso was shivering. Those eyes were swollen from crying. I bit my bottom lip as I moved my gaze to Lorenzo, trying hard to keep my emotions in check. It was hard! The man I loved once was nothing like I knew him. He left me once, cheated on me and suddenly came back, destroying my world.
“So?” his voice echoed in the empty room.
“I’ll come with you.” My voice was a mere whisper.
A smirk formed on his lips as he heard me.
Fixing his eyes on Lily, he scoffed, “I didn’t hear it. Louder.”
“I will come with you.” My voice shattered as I spoke.
Closing our distance, he whispered, “I always get what I want, sweetheart. So never defy me ever again. Your every action will cause a consequence.”
“Pease, don’t harm them.” I pleaded. He frowned for a moment.
“I never break my words, Cora, unless you are going back on yours.” His tone was serious this time.
You never break your words? Then what was that three years ago, Lorenzo? Why did you play with me? You had a girlfriend, and I was just another plaything. You left without a word. I smiled inwardly.
My sight met Lily one last time, “take care… and don’t tell my parents.”
She nodded in return. I moved my gaze, unable to bear her situation.
“Drop her to her house,” Lorenzo ordered his men. His hand curled against my waist again. I hated his touch. I hated the way it created the difference between my body and mind.
“Let’s go,” he muttered.
I saw one of his men took Lily away. Hopefully, she would be fine. My mind kept thinking about my future. What did Lorenzo really want? Why was he behind me? He could get whatever he wanted. Then why me? I was neither an exquisite beauty nor I was rich. In between my clumsy thoughts, we reached the hotel where his men brought me before, after drugging me. The protection of the area was much more than what I expected. He walked me into a royal suit. Were we going to stay here together? The king-size bed in the middle scared me. I peeped on him once only to find a smirk.
“We will stay here for the night, and tomorrow we will fly for Italy.” He informed.
“Now go and take a shower. I’ll arrange some clothes.” He added.
Without any hesitation, I walked into the door he mentioned. Stripping out of my dirty and blood-stained clothes, I soaked in the bathtub. The warm water helped my muscles to relax. Soon all the pain was gone. After spending a long time, I got up. Wrapping the towel around my torso, I stepped into the empty bedroom. My eyes quickly scanned for Lorenzo, but he wasn’t there. Then my gaze fell on the folded clothes on the bed. Grabbing them, I ran into the bathroom again. With another sigh, I changed into the silky, simple nightgown.
My legs made their way to the bedroom again. This time I heard a sound coming from the balcony. Lorenzo was talking over the phone in some foreign language. Without caring much, I sat on the bed. A gasp left my mouth when I realised his gun was just before me. I peeked on him again. His muscular back was facing me. He was clearly busy over the phone. I saw it as a key to my freedom. Gathering my courage, I grabbed the gun and silently walked behind him.
“Don’t move,” I ordered as I pointed the gun at him. He moved his head to face soon. A crease appeared over his eyebrows as he saw me holding the gun.
“I’ll call you back,” he muttered over the phone with an aloof expression. Sliding the phone in his pocket, he walked inside the room, though the gun was pointing at him.
I noticed he had showered and changed into a pair of comfortable sweatpants and a grey t-shirt, showing off his muscles.
His eyes showed no fear as he walked past me and soon disappeared behind another door. Closet maybe. The realisation hit me hard. He went inside. Did he go there to get another… gun? Cora, how could you be so stupid? With shaky hands, I targeted the door as I took slow steps. My heart was pounding.
The door got opened again, and Lorenzo walked out, holding a bag.
“Here, the bullets,” he spoke, showing me the bag.
“When you hold a gun, it’s important to check if it's empty.” He added again. Was he kidding me? I lowered my hand! How would I know about all these? My cheeks were probably flushing red out of embarrassment.
Shame on you, Cora!
He put the bag on the bed. Then he took the gun from my hand. In a blink, he put a bullet in it and then handed it over to me, unlocking it. What was he doing?
“Here,” he spoke. His face showed no emotions. His cold gaze was becoming intolerable for me.
“Come on, shoot.” He repeated. “Wasn’t that what you wanted?” His eyes were challenging me.
The gun was loaded this time. Still, I couldn’t bring myself to shoot him. Hell, I couldn’t even point it towards him. I could fight, max I could injure someone. I couldn’t kill randomly.
“Bite only what you can chew, Cora.” His cold voice echoed in the room. I stood there frozen. He took the gun away.
“Go to bed.” He ordered as he stormed out of the room.
