Chapter 15

1085 Words
The doctor dressed in his white coat on top of his main clothes and a stethoscope hung over his beck walked majestically towards us with a worried but serious look on his face. I sensed disaster. With every step he took, my eyes were constantly watching him. "Hello!" He waved his hand coldly, by the look on his face, I felt something not so good was about to happen or had already happened. "He's not responding to treatment," my heart dropped when he said this. Eva got so down and weakened. Sure, Pandora was gonna laugh at us. This' what she's been wishing for ever since Douglas entered into this prison life. Something marveled me in the midst of my sorrows, no one recognized Douglas as the prince, me neither. I was stunned. Everyone would rise up and bow low before Pandora if she was the one that came here. I smirked. Remembering what the doctor said, tears flowed from my eyes, down my face. "Is he alive?" I managed to ask. "I can't say that for now, more information will be communicated to you soon." He turned abruptly to walk off, I couldn't let him go at this critical moment. I had to know what's going on with my prince, sure he was my prince. "Doctor, what's he actually suffering from?" I held his hands so as not to let him leave, my tone was supplicative. He turned and looked at me with pity. He must have felt my pain. "The young man is suffering from severe bruises at strategic points in his body and a likewise severe bleeding of the heart, his lungs are also swollen from the torture, he must have been severely battered." "Arrrghhh!" I exclaimed, I knew his case was serious but hadn't thought it to be this critical. "What's going to happen to him, please tell me he'd be fine." I just needed this assurance above every other thing. It was my greatest wish. Douglas is the major element in my rescue mission, someone I'd not be fulfilled no matter what I achieved if I lost. Eva came towards my side and was now resting on my shoulders. "I stand firm on my words, knowledge of that now would be critical to you. Let that be saved for later. Brace up, you're gonna know what's in about him later." With this the doctor walked off, Eva broke down totally drawing the attention of other waiters in the room. They came to comfort her but she was inconsolable. A voice inside me told me that something was not going well. "Something has to be done, something has to be done!" It kept repeating itself inside me. I was utterly disturbed by this, I kept wondering what was amissed. I wondered what's gone wrong inside me at the moment, I can't feel my detective powers any longer. For once I feel like a human, a mere shifter. Each time something happens to someone I love, I will be alerted but things are different at this point. My spiritual eyes are just bleak and everything has gone blank. "Love is the key!" This voice suddenly rang inside me. I get puzzled, it sounds so real. For once I wondered who's this that's speaking to the moon goddess herself. Lucinda appeared in her glorious nature, she had assumed my place as the moon goddess. She walked towards me and curtsied, I was still the moon goddess in reality though I had incarnated as human. We weren't noticed all the while we spoke. To those around, even to Eva nothing seems to be happening. "Why are you here Lucinda?" I questioned. "Your Celestial Majesty, there's a serious issue going on in the spiritual world. Pandora has joined forces with the dark queen and the aliens. Our world is in disorder and some parts are beginning to succumb to darkness." I gasped not knowing what to do, perhaps that's the real reason my spiritual senses are blocked. "What are we going to do?" I've always needed Lucinda's suggestions right from the time she was my personal assistant till now. She bowed with respect, then replied. "Your Celestial Majesty, you need to come quickly. Douglas is in danger, if his wolf is murdered in this dark times, he'd be in an eternal slumber. Pandora wishes to kill him before you can rescue him." I was astonished, completely blank in mind about the absolute action to take to stop this. "You need to come with me now, darkness is taking over our kingdom. If the darkness gets to spread across the lunar equator, we are doomed for eternity." She gestured to me to follow her. I stood up still unnoticed, rather than taking me to the moon straight, I was urged into the ICU where Douglas lay unconscious like a dead being, he wasn't actually breathing. I touched his body and it was cold. Terror struck me, could it be what I feared most. At the time, no doctor or attendant was in the room. "We have to do this quickly!" I gazed at Lucinda in confusion, she wasn't obvious in what she said. She understood what my gaze meant, "We have to take him with us, he wouldn't be saved without you. We don't know when you're gonna come back but it has to be when you've finally settled the issue we currently have." She spoke in a rushing manner, I was pressured by this. All my life, from the time I came to the world as a human and shifter, I always preferred all my decisions to be made in calm, not in haste. What I wanted to avoid the most was a mistake which could be fatal. This is one of the major reasons I didn't do something yet even when Douglas was cast into the prison for rightfully demanding for the throne which was due to be transferred to him. "Like what….." Lucinda didn't let me complete my statement, in her mind she'd be thinking you've always delayed in serious issues, this will be an exception. "We need to get out of here with Douglas before they come in." No sooner had she said this that I found myself in another realm, in my other self and with a golden staff of authority in my hand. A radiant gold crown stood on my head and the whole space was now under my power to do something to save it or risk losing it.
