Chapter 16

1127 Words
I walked on the wings of the celestial realm to my palace, the grand palace of the moon goddess. For the meantime, I was back. The golden sunlight shining on the moon greets me, it looks like when I left. Nothing seemed to change about the moon until I gazed into the horizon, towards the north and south poles. They were covered in slight darkness which seemed to be spreading slowly over other areas. "This' what Lucinda must have implied!" I said to myself, now walking on the gold corridor of my castle. No one must have noticed my homecoming but I think Lucinda must have gone to do her job, she's not by my side now. When I arrived at the entrance of the castle, the chief celestial guard was at the side to welcome me. He bowed low and paid homage to me, I placed my golden staff on his back without a word, I had accepted his greetings though I said nothing. My subjects were all present inside to give me a glorious welcome. On a normal occasion, I would stop over to address them and say something being their queen, ruler and everything. That's what a moon goddess entails! I had more important things to do than this. I walked into my private chambers, it was located at the topmost part of the castle. This is the exact place I slept, spent my time with Lucinda and did most of my things. For a while I had been absent and it looked a bit new to me. Lucinda had occupied this apartment while I went to the world to see into the affairs of my children, the werewolves. There on the bed, my soft golden bed, Douglas lay asleep like for eternity. I quietly moved over to him, Lucinda stood by the opposite door watching us both. "Thanks, you did a good job!" I said to her, She had brought Douglas and carefully placed him on my bed, including arranging my subjects for my welcome faster than I had ever imagined. She was the most diligent personal assistant, and sure she must have ruled the moon and the werewolves with great diligence while I was away. I wiped Douglas' face with my hands, it was cold but immediately my fingers touched him, he woke up staring wide into the apartment and Lucinda. I was invisible towards him, I just didn't want him to see me too early. Even though he saw my face, he'd hardly recognize me for I had changed greatly. My face, hair and everything had transformed to that of a goddess, I was no longer the human Miss Wolf he knew. I gestured to Lucinda to come over and take care of him while I went to have a proper view of what was going on in my kingdom. "You don't have to go alone, Your Celestial Majesty. I would advise you to take as companions the most powerful guards, the dark queen and her counterparts might attack you dreadfully if they find you." "Call me Lucita!" I snapped. Lucita was the name of the werewolves' goddess and everyone in the moon knew me by that, even external beings knew it as the name of the goddess in charge of the moon. Though everyone knew, no one has ever dared to call by this name. Everyone addressed me as Lucinda did. I was tired of her in particular addressing me as Your Celestial Majesty. Others ought to address me this way but I can spare her this, she's my best friend and personal assistant, she had such liberty. Lucinda had a worried look on her face. I was awed. Had she forgotten who I was. I was capable of wiping the entire dark queen and all her aliens singlehandedly if I wished to use my powers to that level. Since I love achieving my goals through hard work and not through cowardly acts, I would rather choose to fight this battle using my power on a low key. While standing in front of Lucinda, I was mindlinking with her and she knew all I thought but Douglas had still not become aware of me. I wouldn't let him know me till I came back. I left their presence to go on my mission. This was not a situation to toil with. I hope to see Douglas soon, Lucinda would surely take care of him. To evade suspicion and being noticed, I changed to an alien maid. I would totally fit in with my new nature. As an alien maid, you belonged to the black moon. The black moon is the dark version of the real golden moon, here the dark queen resides with her aliens, most of those she sent to enforce her will and rule on the world. I'm a spirit that stands on the side of light while she stands on the side of darkness. Her celestial name is Devon, no one knows this except her children who are witches and hybrids, with both witch and vampire nature, in the world. One of them is Pandora who is her direct descendant. I can sense her being here in the celestial world. As Lucinda told me earlier, she comes to see her queen mother. All my beauty and radiant glory fades away into a dark, disgustful spirit as I turn myself into an alien maid. With this transfiguration, I look exactly like them. No sign or mark to detect me. Developing black wings I fly into outer space and into darkness. The black moon was situated many miles away in our celestial gradient, but in a matter of a second I landed on it. While on the air, I saw so many spirits like myself, male and female. They went on different errands like I seemed to be also. Being exactly like them, and dressed in the same way, no one could detect me. I was glad about this, I flew till I found myself at the palace of the dark queen. The palace had great differences from mine, while mine was bright, glorious and radiant with the golden rays of the sun shining on it, hers was located in an area that seemed abandoned, haunted and secluded. Darkness covered everywhere and I could feel the aura of witchcraft and deadly vampire spirits in the air. Glad I didn't bring any of my spirits with me. This' a deadly mission only myself could handle. My mind tells me that though I get myself to look like one of them I'd soon be discovered. Shock ran through my spine, for once I regret coming alone at this point, also about deciding not to be in my powerful moon goddess nature.
