Chapter 17

1037 Words
To really defeat my rival, Devon and Pandora, I need to know almost everything about them and their celestial powers. I already have a knowledge of who they are but I need more. In real life as well as in the celestial, knowledge was not enough. We kept learning. This' just what I'm determined to do now. I intended going into the dark palace, as it would be rightly addressed for it was really dark. It took my celestial eyes to navigate my way through it especially as I was not a dark alien in reality but just pretending. I went towards the entrance of the dark palace but then my mind told me to do otherwise. I have to travel and see the pace the darkness from Devon had traveled to. At least I need to begin my investigation here before I assess my own world. To succeed in any conflict, you ought to detect the source of the problem or where the issue emanates from. I think from here it would be much easier to navigate the problem and proffer remedies for my world. "Heyy, come here bud!" Perhaps that's what they call the little dark spirits, a crooked voice calls out from the dark entrance. I turn abruptly. The stout spirit walked towards me, I stopped right in my track. I froze. Outwardly I would be sighted as afraid but no, I wasn't. I did this to look real. If I acted otherwise, suspicions would be aroused. "You must be the one that our queen sent to spy on the other moon?" I calculated in my head so fast, he meant my own kingdom. I nodded in agreement, I have nothing to fear. Being the chief member of the world sent to spy, my luna kingdom, I could tell almost everything they would ask me. In fact this would be a perfect chance to know all about what these spirits planned. "Come into the palace, the queen wishes to have your report." I followed him into the palace sheepishly. "But you took so long, why that?" "I was obstructed by some of the spirits over the other moon, I had to wait till it was time for them to retire before I could flee." This was the first time I spoke. I constructed my answer so well that he believed me. We walked through the dark hallway, into a grand room with massive space and many servants walking up and down, busy with one work or the other. The distance to where the dark queen sat on her throne was not so far, I could sense her haunted scent. We entered the throne room, it was the darkest in the entire palace. By this, you would know the real nature of the one that had control of this place. On her head was a dark bronze crown, the only thing that radiated from her, her eyes glowed so dark and her tall figure fitted on the throne was the very nature of a demon. I glanced around and got so surprised to see Pandora sitting on a lowered seat beside her. I shot a quick glance at her, I didn't want to create any tension. My attention was focused on Devon, I tried hard to avoid gazing into Pandora, my business was with Devon. I bowed my head silently as her servant spirits did in submission. I would never bow low for her but here I did to deceive them more and hide my identity, I would do anything appropriate to conquer the knowledge of this dark queen. "Why did you take so long for my errand?" Her voice was cold, devilish and haunted as expected. I lowered my head in assumed respect before responding. I gave her the same reply I gave earlier to the guard spirit. She smiled widely at my pretty diligence, I was laughing inside me at her naiveness. "From now, I make you my personal maiden spirit, you're gonna serve me with all honesty, diligence and confidence. I'll be revealing all my secrets for you to work on, hope you won't betray my secrets against the moon goddess?" "No, I would never do that, Your Celestial Majesty." I shrugged my shoulders in detest of such betrayal. Devon took up the same title as me because she was always fighting to assume my place and replace my children with her demons. She smiled more wildly, the smile erupted into a sinister laugh and Pandora soon joined, next the spirit that escorted me here. Before I knew almost all the spirits in the adjoining rooms joined in this echoing laughter, I was astonished. To fit in I joined and this laughter must have lasted for a very long time. It ended with a request from the dark queen, "Go! Make more research into the moon kingdom and that foolish moon goddess," she shouted, her voice re-echoing after her. "She thinks she can defeat me. I will let her know she's nothing but a mere fool!" I shrugged inside me, this' what she thinks about me? I'll have to stay quiet to avoid problems, my mission can't be cut short after I've come so close to this kind of privilege. This' what I'd been praying for, I can't throw away this golden chance. "Spend five days there, do more deep research, know everything that goes over there, serve her!" She raised her hand towards me and I changed to a spirit of the bright moon, my kingdom. "You can always mindlink with me or journey to me if you have any aid you need from me!" With this command she sent me away, now I had full authority to fly over anywhere I wished in her kingdom beaming her special maid. I didn't have to hide anymore. This made me glad. I turned and flew away after I curtsied to the dark queen. The next moment I appeared in my kingdom, on the same bed Douglas lay. I heaved a sigh of relief, now I have to focus on my center of attraction, my main reason for doing all these. He's as radiant as ever, like one of my spirit children here.
