Jace held me tightly as Zena snarled viciously at Lyra, making her hazel eyes flared with fear and she backed up a step, her hands raising.
"Woah, calm down, possessive." She muttered almost inaudible if Zena wasn't on the verge of taking over.
A thundering growl tore from my throat at her, challenging and aggressive. "Say that again!" I demanded, my voice animalistic and foreign to my ears.
It was Zena's voice, furious and a bloodlust reddened my vision as I tried to step towards her.
I felt the others watch me, standing still as Jace pulled me back, easily overpowering me and Zena.
Zena pushed harder, snarling in my head, trying to force me to Shift.
To tear Lyra's throat out with my bare teeth!
"Melody! Stop." Jace's voice hissed in my ear, his voice low and warning; a jolt of energy going through me and Zena froze in her fighting. My eyes broke from Lyra's, the haze dissolving from my vision as I looked up at Jace, his jaw tense and his eyes dark.
He stared at me, watching me. An unspoken battle of our Wolves took place in a matter of seconds; his eyes flared to black, his hands tightening to claws against my skin and Zen finally whined in my head. My eyesight dulled and I focused on Jace's face until I relaxed enough against him.
He saw the submission as I tilted my neck, baring it as Zena did in my mind. His hands loosened slightly, his hold loving and gently and he lifted his head, looking at Lyra with annoyance and restrained anger.
His hands moved around my waist to pull me tightly against his body, locking me securely but gently. I buried my nose into his jacket and chest, almost sobbing in embarassment and fear but Jace's scent kept me together.
His voice rumbled, low and deadly. "Lyra, leave. I won't ask again." He turned, keeping me with him and put his back to Lyra, his hand starting to rub small strokes on my back.
The whole store seemed to fall quiet, waiting for Lyra to finally move. She made a small noise Zena snickered at before her shuffled footsteps echoed off the tiles floors and the hum of activity started again.
Jace relaxed, his shoulders slumping as he leaned down, pressing his lips to my forehead.
"Are you okay, sweetie?" He asked quietly in my ear.
I nodded slightly, using our contact to press a mind-link to him.
He opened his mind willingly, almost breaking my restraint on my tears.
Can we go see Jaxon? I asked meekly, hoping he understood I needed to be around them both right now.
He nodded against me. "Of course," he said sweetly, raising his head to the Omega's who surrounded us, regarding me with kind expressions I didn't expect.
Kim stepped towards me, slow and careful, giving me a small smile. "Don't be embarrassed," she said, reaching out to touch my arm. "Your Wolf seems to really like Jace and Jax, it's natural to be possessive."
I nodded, keeping my eyes low. "I'm sorry to cause a scene,"
The brothers chuckled. "Please," Cale waved me off, grinning as he looked at Jace. "He'd probably kick any of our asses if we did anything similar to you," he shrugged, ignoring my surprise expression, nudging Flynn then with a smile. "Not that we'd be that dumb."
Flynn nodded in agreement, chuckling before he smiled at me. "Only stupid if we passed up the chance to have our Luna give us a hand on the farm," his eyes snapped to Jace then, a look of fear passing through them as he added. "If the Alpha brothers approve, of course."
Jace smiled, chuckling. "Of course," he squeezed me sweetly, looking down at me and saw my almost pleading expression.
I missed my vet work, even if it had been the thing that got me almost killed. It led me here, so maybe it was a part of me I was meant to share with them.
To help them as they helped me.
Jace gave a small smile, seeming to understand as he leaned down, kissing me softly before he said. "We'll talk to Jax about supplies you'll need, maybe set up a little clinic next to mine for pets."
I rose a brow at that. "You guys keep pets?" I almost felt rude for asking, but Jace smiled brightly, seeming to know I meant not disrespect - I was just new to this.
He hugged me, moving away slightly to say goodbye to the others, I waved, finding myself smiling to the women as Jace led me to the counter to pay for everything and explained that, yes, Wolves did infact keep pets.
We drove to the Packhouse after dropping everything at the den and even stopped by a butchers to get fresh rabbit meat for dinner - Zena was very excited just from the smell of it raw, but I told her she had to wait, much to her chagrin.
Jace pulled up to the large metal gates, pressing a small button on the visor above him. The gates groaned and creaked as they opened, Jace driving slowly into the large white stone mansion estate with a curved driveway, picturesque lawns and sculpted rose and thick berry bushes scattered across the front.
The Packhouse was an enormous U-Shaped building, with four floors and countless rooms that lined the wrap around balconies of each floor.
Jace pulled up near the large stone steps, climbing out and being greeted by a lean teenager in dark clothes.
"Alpha," the boy greeted, taking the keys from Jace and waited while Jace walked to my side, opening the door for me and helped me out.
"How's it going, Ben?" Jace asked, taking my hand and leading me to the boy, Ben.
Ben shrugged, giving a small sigh. "Pretty boring, thought with all the Packs coming through, we'd see some action." He looked disappointed, then finally seemed to notice me. His eyes widen when he saw Jace holding my hand, our fingers interlaced and his thumb stroking absently. "I heard-"
Jace chuckled, cutting him off and gestured to the car with his thumb. "Job first, greet later."
Ben shook his head, bowing slightly. "Right, s**t. Sorry, Alpha." He looked at me, hesitating for a second before bowing again. "Nice to meet you, Luna. Hope you like it here," his voice held a sincerity that touched me, making me smile.
"Thanks, Ben." I said, letting Jace lead me into the mansion.
He showed me the few common areas, large rooms with multiple seating for gatherings or lounging, a shared kitchen that was like an industrial chefs dream, a gym for the Gammas and Delta's to train and a cinema room complete with lounge chairs and a huge flat screen.
Most of the floors above were private bedrooms, shared bathrooms or libraries and meeting rooms, the top floor reserved for the Alphas. Everything was beautiful white stone, pillared with dark Lycan runes and gilded with gold running accents.
Jace held my hand, letting me trail and looking around as he guided me to the office. A large set of double doors opened as we got closer, making me look at Jace suspiciously before I saw a tall, burly man step out with Jaxon beside him.
Jax shook his hand, saying something to him, nodding. The other man grinned, nodding back and then turned to leave, faltering when his eyes landed on Jace and I.
I felt a moment of nervousness, his dark gaze settling over us for a moment before he looked at Jace. He nodded in greeting.
"Alpha Jace," the man greeted, his voice tight and oddly incredibly deep, as if his Wolf spoke for him.
Jace tensed beside me, my heart racing with worry as he nodded back. "Sigmund," he replied in a clipped voice.
The air charge with an unspoken aggression, something between the two men I didn't understand, only that Zena paced beneath my skin in waiting, unsure, but she knew our mates were uncomfortable...angry.
I felt claws dig into my hand, ignoring the want to look down, I squeezed Jace's hand, trying to comfort him. Ground him as he had me.
"Sorry to interrupt," I said, forcing a smile to Sigmund and Jaxon, keeping my eyes on my mate. "But, are you free Jax?"
Sigmund glanced between us, like he was trying to piece together what was happening.
I just wanted to know why he upset Jace so much.
Jaxon gestured to the office beyond the doors. "Never too busy for you, little one." He said, his voice tight but his eyes soft with love.
I pulled Jace behind me, bowing my head to Sigmund as we passed. "Excuse us," I said politely, but moved quickly.
The door was closed and Jace let go of my hand, walking ahead of me.
I went to turn, opening my mouth to speak, only, before I could even question either of them about that man or what Jace was mad about, Jaxon's lips were suddenly on mine.
His hands grabbed my thighs and pulled me around his waist until he placed me onto a solid desk.
His kiss was devouring and all consuming, removing any thoughts or questions or reason from my mind. The world fell away until only he and I remained, our tongues fighting a never ending battle, my hands locking into his thick dark hair to pull him impossibly deeper into the bliss of his touch.
His strong hands caressed my waist, lifting my shirt enough to expose my stomach and hips, Jaxon dragging his hands across my exposed flesh. The sensation flared my Heat, a groan of pain and need leaving me.
Jax pulled back, grinning devilishly. "Sorry, what were you saying?" He asked, nonchalant though breathless.
I blinked, complet forgetting everything that happened in the last twelve hours, only picturing him naked this morning at the front door. I glanced around the room, not taking anything in expect a small digital clock on his desk.
I swallowed the lump in my throat, ignoring the delicious taste of Jaxon that coated it, and tried to settle my breathing as I found a question to ask. "Dinner?"
Jaxon chuckled, grinning and glanced at the clock, reading it was nearly five pm.
He shrugged, glancing over my shoulder to where I could feel Jace's energy radiating through my back like a space heater on high.
Jaxon's eyes met mine, darkening to obsidian. "We've got time," he purred, smirking as Jace leaned over me, kissing my neck and shoulder suddenly, pinning me against him with a banding arm of steel around my breasts.
I gasped as Jax smirked, his hands reaching for my pants. He hesitated, only long enough to ask Jace a single question. "You brought her spare clothes, right?"
Jace chuckled mischievously in my ear, my stomach twisting and I squirmed as he answered. "Of course, I knew one of us wouldn't be able to resist." He said factually, a small whine leaving me. He kissed my neck, nipping the skin to make me squirm and my hips bucked.
Jaxon took the opportunity to tear my pants from me, shredding the fabric with claws before he grabbed my thighs and spread me open, smiling at my already excited flesh. He dipped a finger across my core, gathering the juices and brought it to his lips.
His dark eyes met mine as he licked his fingers, another whine of need escaping me. "I wanted dessert first," he inhaled my scent, making me blush but his grin showed pure enjoyment and lust. "And you taste divine," he pulled me flush against him, burying his mouth and tongue into my folds and began to devour me while Jace kissed and fondled me, whispering praises and encouragement in my ear.
"Such a pretty little mate," he cooed, nipping my ear and I writhed against Jaxon's groaning mouth. "Come for us, Sweetheart."
I unravelled instantly at his words, both my mates growling in approval, saying the same word. "Mine."
I panted and whined, my hands snaking around both of them to hold them. "Mine."
