Fernando and I were both trying to catch our breath. After what had just happened, he buried his face between my neck and shoulder.
"You're perfect," he whispered.
I couldn't help but smile at his words. He lifted his head to look into my eyes. I still wasn't sure how I felt about Fernando and if our relationship had a future. Seeing him so vulnerable this past week made me want to stay with him and protect him.
It's not that I don't like the strong and determined Fernando who never backs down. But when he showed me a different side of himself, it made me feel like he trusted me. It felt like he was being genuine with his words. For now, I will let myself go and see where this takes us.
"Are you okay?" he asked me.
I nodded in response.
"Are you tired?" he asked again.
"Not too much
