The days passed quickly. Fernando continued to sleep in my room. He is an imposing man, but this week, I couldn't help but notice him feeling down and distracted. He seemed like a child at times.
On the day of the funeral, many people came, including my family. Fernando didn't allow me to leave his side. Everything was relatively calm until Paola arrived. People started whispering among themselves. The truth is, I didn't really care about what they said. I tried my best to ignore them, especially since Dad and Giovanni seemed affected by the situation.
Paola approached us, her pregnancy already noticeable, especially because she chose to wear a body-hugging dress.
"Paola, what are you doing here?" Fernando asked her.
"Love, I'm here because your father is gone," she said loudly, making
