Chapter 8 Jane stared at Noah in a confused way and expression, She wasn't sure if she had heard him clear and sound! She doubts what he had offered her. She wanted to be sure her eardrums haven't failed her, she hoped they still work faultlessly well. She didn't know how to reply to him, she was getting confused at the name to call him. She didn't want to anger him quite alright, She wanted him to help her. Was she to call him, Noah? She nodded her head like she was calculating a big sum of bills. Maybe, sir? or rather hello? Would be okay, She bet he stared at her because she could feel his gaze on her. Noah cleared his throat to bring her back from her misery and irritation. He only felt that how she looked like! He couldn't help but feel pity for her. He was confused at his advances towards her, he hoped she wasn't charming him. ”Sir Noah?” She called. He lifted his eyebrow at her implying he wasn't daft or insane. He was listening to whatsoever she had to say but something captivated Noah, the way she called and pronounced his name! it brought surges of shock into his torso, It felt weird to confess but he loved the excitement she was putting him. "I don't understand what you mean by..b.ei..ng your p..er. so..nal slave?” She stammered. Noah felt angry at the question she threw back at him. Was he speaking in tales and myth or rather parables? he thought. ”Didn't you attend a school or something?” He asked furiously. She was confused about why he felt angry at what she had asked. ”Answer the damn question,” he yelled Making Jane startle more in fear. She didn't like the atmosphere that was in the room at this period. It was so hot that her cloth was getting soaked from her sweat, ”I...I didn't get too high school, I stopped at my grade 6 before I was found and brought to camp.” she said shaking from the way he yelled at her. He could notice some slight tears trying to pickle down her cheeks. ”Don't you dare cry?” he was commanding not asking, He felt frustrated at her behavior, as he pants around the room. She immediately touched her face, she didn't even know she had tears trying to run down her cheeks. She used her cloth to dry them, He turned to face her with his hands on his waist. ”From tomorrow, you would no longer be at the service of the dormitory but fully at my service.” He felt proud and in charge as he paves around the room still giving his laws. She was about to say something, but he was fast to decline her words with his next explanations. ”You no longer need to perform your chores in the dormitory, I am now your chores.” She felt a bit troubled but had no mind to complain. ”You are going to serve me whenever and whatever time I wish and appreciate it.” he explained further. ”Am I still going to be sold?" She interrupts. Noah disliked the questions she threw at him, he felt they were irrelevant. ”Miss Jane Brown?” he called and She looked at him at the mention of her name from his lips. ”If you were still going to be sold or traded and bartered Do you think you can serve me from Pakistan every time and anytime I need you too?” He asked. She felt bad and guilty for asking such a stupid and dumb question. He was right and telling the truth, She wasn't going to be able to work for him from Pakistan. She couldn't help but smile at the fact that she wasn't going to be sold tomorrow. Noah who caught a glimpse of her smile, He felt proud and happy! He smiled back foolishly like a Baby offered a lollipop. She caught him glancing at her but he was sharp to notice as he cleared his throat and put a fake cough to it. ”Be here by 6:00 Am tomorrow, The guard on duty would direct you to my residence.” He didn't know what Fahd's point of view would be but he cared less right now. ”Any questions or suggestions?” Noah asked. But she shook her head, indicating no. ”Then you are excused.” he said Using his hands to demonstrate the doorway. She stood up, nodded, and left all happy and pleased. This was absolutely the best news she had heard since she came to camp, and she was going to cherish and respect the person who gave her the chance. Noah watched her as she humped out of his office like a little child. He had many things he needed to know about her. The telephone at the office beeps as Noah strode to pick it, ”hello?” he said. But Marcus' voice came from the other line. ”Are you still at the office?” He asked with an angry voice. ”Yes?” Noah said. he wanted to ask why he was angry but he didn't want to end up getting Marcus angrier, so he waited for them to meet so he could consult him physically. ”I am on my way to the office I left something I must get.” He announced. ”Sure, sure! sure.” Noah answered. Noah was about to leave, but he now had to wait for Marcus patiently. ****** MARCUS POV Marcus got down from the car, letting the driver know he was going to be back sharply. The driver nodded in affirmative. He entered the building rushing upstairs but got hit by the girl who bumped into him. He looked at his white iron shirt, they looked stained from her dirty appearance and dirty hands. ”How dare you?, Who are you? Why did you do this?” he kept throwing questions at her. She just uttered sorry, He felt irritated and disgusted. Who told her she could apologize. She is so stupid and dumb. Did she even know who he was? She was done today, he muttered to himself. He was about to call on the guards but Noah appeared just as he was about to do that.
