The night Chris died, a shooting star zoomed down the empty sky in a long line of fire.
Daniel was so worried, angry and sad, as he sat down in the waiting room of the hospital, After seeing Chris's corpse, he was just having mixed emotions and everything have been so very chaotic as his sister couldn't get hold of herself as she continuously shout Chris's name and his mum also arrive at the time when they find Chris body in the bath tub which makes the situation worsen as she immediately had an attack and they had to rush her to the hospital immediately.
"Daniel, Are you okay", Candy asked as she sit beside him after coming back from where Tammy was.
She have been given a room in the hospital when she could not stop crying and keep on shouting Chris's name.
"I'm fine", Daniel replied "How is Tammy now", he asked.
"She is asleep now, She is just shocked and can't still accept what happen but the nurse gave her a little dose of sleeping injection so she will be calm by tomorrow" Candy replied.
"Okay, thank you" Daniel said looking at his hand.
"How are we going to handle the situation now Daniel?", Candy asked.
"I don't know", Daniel replied looking at Candy.
All that is going on in his mind is how to get to know who is his brother's murderer.
"You don't know but this is way too much and we don't know what the people behind Chris death want and even we are not yet sure if they are the one who murdered Chris or someone else", Candy whispered.
"What do you mean", Daniel looked up.
"Just think about it, Daniel, it is getting more complicated", Candy said.
"But_"
Just as Daniel was about to talk, the doctor come out of his mum's ward.
"Mrs Adams family?", The doctor called out to Daniel.
"Yes doctor", Daniel answered standing up followed by Candy "How is my mum doing now" Daniel ask anxiously.
"She is out of danger for now, but still unconscious and her blood pressure is very high, way too high that we have to keep seeing how she respond to the treatment and she have to avoid any kind of stress and please Mr Adams, whatever happened that made her go into shock, I would suggest you keep it from her to avoid problems because she might not remember what happened due to the shock", The doctor explained.
"Are you saying she have lost her memory?", Daniel asked.
"No, but considering how the shock affect her, all she would remember is two days ago event", The doctor answered.
"Okay, Can we see her now", Candy asked.
"Not yet, she have to get more rest, by tomorrow you can see her", The doctor replied.
"Okay, Thank you", Candy said and The doctor walked away.
"Daniel", Candy said looking at Daniel as she saw a tear slipping out of his eye.
"Candy, what do I do now, I'm lost in the middle of a storm, what am I going to do" Daniel said breaking down in tears.
"Daniel, you have to be strong okay, strong for Tammy and your mum, Everything will be fine very soon alright" Candy said consoling him.
"How would everything be fine, huh, Chris was f*****g murdered, my mum is lying unconscious and my sister is f*****g not calm and you said everything will be, how would everything be fine?", Daniel shouted.
"Listen to me Daniel", Candy said "We have to tell the cops about the issue so we can get some help on this issue, we should not keep it to ourselves okay" Candy said.
"Cops? ", Daniel said looking at Candy "I am not involving any f*****g cops, I am going to find those bastards that murder my f*****g brother and f*****g bring them to justice even if it means losing my f*****g life on it, I just want justice", Daniel shouted and walked out of the hospital leaving Candy dumbfounded.
As Daniel reached outside of the hospital, he sat on a bench and couldn't stop crying, All he does is blame himself for Chris's death, if only he didn't leave him all by himself, he might still be alive and healthy, if only he was always there, Chris might not be in a trouble that could take his life "It is my fault", Daniel shouted angrily at himself.
"No it is not your fault Daniel", Candy said sitting beside him "Don't blame yourself over something you can not control."
"Candy, I'm sorry I shouted at you earlier, I was just... Just so mad at myself, Everything just seem so wrong", Daniel said looking down.
"I understand", Candy smiled "You just have to stop blaming yourself, Chris would not like you blaming yourself over his death, just focus on protecting your mum and Tammy, they are all you have now."
"Yeah, but I am scared Candy, how would I explain everything to mum when she fully recovered ", Daniel said looking at Candy.
"We won't for now until everything get settled", Candy said holding Daniel's hand and Daniel glance down at their hand.
"I just don't want anything bad to come to her and Tammy", Daniel said in a sad tone.
"Just relax, everything will turn out well and I will also be here anytime you need me", Candy said.
"Thank you for calming me down", Daniel said.
"Anytime", Candy replied smiling.
They both look up at the sky, staring at the stars.
"That is Chris there", Candy pointed at a star in the sky "He is watching over you, Tammy and your mum", Candy said.
"Hmmmm, I am sure he is", Daniel smiled "Can I ask you something", Daniel said.
"And what is that", Candy replied.
"You have been here since after school, won't your dad be worried that you are not home yet, it is almost midnight", Daniel said.
"Don't worry about that, I've got it under control, Let's just focus on getting your family back on track", Candy said.
"For real?", Daniel exclaimed
"Yes I am serious, it is not like my father really cares anyway", Candy said smiling while looking straight into Daniel eyes.
"What did you mean by it's not like your father cares", Daniel said looking at Candy.
"Hmmm, it's just there", Candy said smiling slightly.
"Candy", Daniel said
"Story for another day, let's skip it", Candy said.
