Traitor

Narrator---

While all the fights and quarrel was going on inside the room, Mathew was deep in slumber and dreaming about his mystery girl!

In his dream, Mathew looked at the cute girl and stressed, “I believe that you are also joining us for the vacation? I am sure SOMEONE VERY RESPONSIBLE FORGOT TO INFORM!” he has obviously noticed that her mother was glaring at the girl for not informing in time.

He furrowed his eyebrows in sleep and tried hard to see clearly! But the faces were shades of white on a black back ground!

“Till such time why don’t you rest your legs and BRAIN sitting here, Ms Alicia?”  Mathew softly said the last part and chuckled in his dream!

He has to remember the name, he thought and he spoke too in his dream!

“I have to remember the name Alicia!”

Mrs Cooper has left and Selina just heard Mathew mumble in sleep, “I have to remember the name Alicia!”

She frowned! Who the hell is Alicia? Is it the new girl? She placed her hand over Mathew’s forehead. He had quite a good temperature. Selina whispered sweetly, “It is me, your Selina Mat!” Mathew didn’t respond and so she took the wet cloth and started the cold compression. After almost half an hour, she became bored and gasped looking at her fingers that were wrinkled and white because of the water!

“This is not my job! Anyways, he is asleep. I am sure once he wakes up he would come to me for his needs!” saying this to herself she stood up and left the room.

“What’s her name?” Selina stood with her arms crossed and chin held a little higher than necessary as she interrogated Mrs Cooper.

“Violet. But since when have you taken interest in the maids and servants of the house?” Mrs Cooper sneered.

Alicia was in the kitchen preparing some warm soup for Mathew or in real her Mr Devil but she could clearly hear the conversation that was going on between Selina and Mrs Cooper just in the foyer.

“Are you sure that is her name?” Selina narrowed her eyes and asked as if she didn’t trust Mrs Cooper!

“Are you sure your name is Selina and not Marseli who is living here in this country without proper documents?” Selina frowned and bit her lips to control her anger when Mrs Cooper challenged her in answer to her question.

“Well, I was just asking to make sure she wasn’t someone names Alicia!” Selina snapped and went away saying, “Well, ask her to do her job and not try to get close to Mathew! I will keep a watch on her!”

Alicia was stunned hearing her real name on Selina’s mouth! So stunned that the ladle dropped inside the boiling soup which spilled on her hand burning her skin at one spot.

“Ouch!” an involuntary sound came out of her mouth as she felt the sharp burning sensation on her skin. She immediately opened the tap and held her hand in the running water.

Mrs Cooper has walked in hearing her voice and she took out some toothpaste and applied it on her hand. “I don’t understand how you manage to hurt yourself so many times girl!”

She scolded Alicia. Alicia who now was eager to know how Selina knew her name couldn’t really hear Mrs Cooper properly. Her entire attention was on evaluating the situation and possibilities! Chances are high that Mathew remembered her and that he is actually Damien! It might have been also something else! May be Selina came to know that she was Alicia! Her brother Neilson Luna is quite famous being very rich businessman playing in billions! So it wasn’t really too difficult to find out that she was his sister Alicia! Or maybe Mathew remembered her name and not the past! Alicia did mention her name when she first met Mathew on the beach! What happened exactly was a big question and the answers were necessary to decide on her next course of actions.

“Did you burn your ear drums too Violet?”

Alicia didn’t reply since she was in some different world lost in thoughts, to which Mrs Cooper frowned and then something struck her mind! Violet screamed in pain almost as soon as Selina mentioned someone named Alicia! So Mrs Cooper this time called her again but using the unknown girl’s name.

“Alicia?”

“Hmmm?” Alicia’s trance was broken as she unknowingly replied on being called by her real name but she immediately realised the blunder she has done and she bit her tongue!

Mrs Cooper’s face turned dark with anger and feeling of betrayal! In past ten days or so, Mrs Cooper actually started liking Violet but now when she came to know that her name was Alicia and also the incident that happened in the morning was the first time someone has dared to attack Master Mathew inside his home, Mrs Cooper could think of only one thing! She thought Alicia was a spy who has been passing informations to the enemy!

“You Traitor!” She yelled trembling with anger! “You dare to enter Badshah’s household and spy on us? Now I understand why you are so keen to take care of the master! You want to kill him! Don’t you? You want to finish the task those mother f**kers couldn’t complete! And you thought you can get away with this, you s**t f**king scoundrel?”

“No! No! I am not a spy Mrs Cooper! Please believe me. I can explain. Please don’t shout else everyone will hear us!” Alicia pleaded but the genie was out of the bottle!

Mrs Cooper held her by her hair and dragged her to a corner and dropped her on the floor with a thud.

“Now. Sit here quietly and don’t try to escape! Huh! You won’t be able to escape anyways, because I am going to lock you here till Badshah returns! And then he will decide what to do with you…A-L-I-C-I-A!!” Mrs Cooper yelled.

Alicia’s eyes opened wide with fear as she heard Badshah’s name! Memories of the last encounter with him came to her mind and a chill ran down her spine. She knew if Badshah found out about her, she will be dead or rather will be raped and then dead! She can’t let that happen But how will she stop Mrs Cooper? She was so angry on her because she thought Alicia was a traitor and well every other thing fell right into place giving rise to that as the only logical possibility!

“Mrs Cooper please! Don’t tell Badshah. Please! You have to believe me! I had no other way than to lie but I am not a traitor and I would never dream of hurting master Mathew! I would give my life for him Mrs Cooper! I love him!” Alicia crawled on the floor and stopped Mrs Cooper wrapping her arms around her legs.

Mrs Cooper gasped and turned to look at Alicia who was now crying and pleading in a broken voice, “Please Mrs Cooper! He is my fiancé and I love him! I love him Mrs Cooper! I love him more than  anything in this world! Please don’t tell Badshah! Please…..I beg you!”

 Mrs Cooper was confused. On one hand her experienced eyes knew that the girl was innocent and was telling the truth! She can’t be a spy! She was such a kind soul that she cannot even be someone related to a gang! While hiring her Mrs Cooper herself thought that she didn’t belong to a place like the castle among the criminals and the c*nt hungry pack of wolves! But on the other hand, the girl did lie to her once when she said that she was Violet and also she lied that she didn’t know Mathew! If she believed this girl and hid the fact that she has been hiding her true identity then in future that may turn into something serious! Badshah will get her killed along with the girl if he came to know that Mrs Cooper had been her accomplice!

While Mrs Cooper was in a dilemma, someone knocked on the door loudly! Alicia frowned in fear and pleaded in whispers, “Please Mrs Cooper! At least give me a chance to explain myself! I beg you Mrs Cooper don’t tell anyone about my true identity!”

Mrs Cooper gave Alicia a long doubtful look and then freeing her legs she went ahead and opened the door.     

“We heard yelling and heated arguments! What happened here?” a group of servants and also a few of Mathew’s men were at the door trying to peep inside!

Mrs Cooper turned at Alicia who coward at a corner hiding her face in between her folded knees, sobbing and trembling with fear. She has now realised that her days were over!

“I was yelling at this filthy bag of s**t of a maid!”

Alicia gasped in terror and the men narrowed their eyes ready to barge in!
