Chapter 15

The next following day, I woke up with fright. I jumped up out of bed and ran into Bella's room. She was sitting up in the bed trying to catch her breath. I s**t the door and ran towards the bed and sat in front of her.

"Bella, I had the crazy dream ever." I told her grabbing her hands.

"Was it about what Jake told us and on top of our research about the "cold ones"?" She asked.

"Maybe."

"Well you're not the only one that had it. Maybe the Cullen's are these cold ones. And what we looked up they're vampires."

"And if that means the Cullens' are actual vampires we need to stay away from them." I told her.

"We don't know for certain if this is true Kat." Bella told me. "Anyways just get ready for school."

I nodded then got up to go take a shower then hurried to get ready for school. Once I got dressed, Bella got in the shower then got out and got dressed. After we were both dressed we went downstairs to get some food. Charlie got up from the couch and went upstairs to take a shower himself then got ready for work. When he came back down, he made himself a cup of coffee and took it to go.

After we were done, Bella and I left for school. As we pulled up to the school, we got out and crossed the lawn, heading to class, Edward sees us. Bella walks to him, eyes meeting his... her look says, we have to talk... and she continues directly past him, into the dark forest that borders the school.

He watches her disappear in the trees, then takes a step to

follow. Jasper moves in front of him, Rosalie grabs his arm.

Bella stands amid the trees, waiting. I watched as the Cullen siblings talk then out of nowhere Edward speeds off towards the forest.

Of course I run towards that way to go talk to them just as Edward appears behind Bella. She doesn't turn around. A beat.

"You're impossibly fast. And strong. Your skin is pale-white, ice-cold. Your eyes change color. And sometimes you speak like... you're from a different time." Bella said then turns to face him. "You never eat food, or drink, or come out in the sunlight. And you said no to the beach trip only after you heard where it was. Because of the treaty." This last registers with him. She steps closer to him. "How old are you?" Bella asked.

"Seventeen." Edward said.

"How long have you been seventeen?" Bella asked.

After a long moment to think, Edward finally answered her "... A while."

Both Bella and I inhales. We both knew, but it's still shocking.

"I know what the Cold Ones are. What you are?" Bella asked.

"Yeah, what are you and your family Edward?" I asked as I walked closer to them.

"Say it. Out loud. Say it." Edward asked us.

All sound suddenly went away, dropped out. I looked over at Bella as she looked over at me at the same time. Then we both looked over towards Edward.

"Vampire......" we both said at the same time waiting for him to tell us the truth or even laugh at us and tell us we're crazy.

"Are you afraid?" He asked us.

"No." Bella said.

I looked over at her like she lost her mind. Was she just telling him that to get him to tell the truth.

Edward asked us angry. "Then ask me the most basic question: what do we eat?"

"You won't hurt me or my sister. You're different." Bella told him.

"You think you know me?" Edward asked as he glares at her.

Then suddenly, he takes her by the hand and zoomed out of the forest. I was so lost and confused at what just happened. So Edward and his family were vampires and if I don't see Bella back tonight, they're evil.

As I took a deep breath, I walked out of the forest and head towards his family. Emmett and their other brother looked at me all worried.

"So it's true." I asked them.

"What's true?" Emmett asked.

"That you guys are, vampires." I softly said.

"Kat, maybe we should take this to the house, so we all can talk about it." Jasper said getting the others nods of agreement.

"Fine, but you guys try anything I'll tell everyone." I said as I walked with them to their car.

As I got in the back seat with Alice, I wrapped my arms around my legs thinking what I just sorta found out from Edward. Then he just took Bella away.

"Where did your brother take my sister?" I asked them.

Alice was the one that answered me. "He took her up the mountain where the sun is shining."

"Why did he do that?" I asked.

"Because in the sun, we sparkle." Alice started to say.

"That's why we don't come to school." Emmett added.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You'll find out when we get to the house." Rose said.

"But I've been to the house before, I never seen you guys sparkle." I said.

"Just not when it's sunny you haven't. Like right now, the sun is partly out. And you've seen how big the windows are at the house." Rose said.

I hummed then leaned my head against the door. It didn't take use that long to get to the house. When we pulled up, Jasper and Alice hurried and got out of the car. I looked over at them wondering why they did that. Alice was just talking to me a few minutes ago. Emmett got out of the car and saw my look on my face after his siblings ran out.

"Don't mind that. It's not you, Jasper is new to our diet." Emmett told me.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I walked into the kitchen from the garage.

"What he means is, we all drink animal blood not human blood and we've been on it much longer than Jasper has." Carlisle said as we came into view. "Kat, welcome again. I heard that you and your sister found out what we are."

"Yes, we done some research but someone had kinda helped us through it." I told him as I looked around the house and saw that it's very bright in the house that's when I saw Emmett without his jacket.

I walked over to him and grabbed his arm. When I got a closer look at him, I saw what they meant about the sun. He was sparkling like diamonds. A Diamond is a solid form of the element carbon with its atoms arranged in a crystal structure called diamond cubic. A Diamond as a form of carbon is a tasteless, odourless, strong, brittle solid, colourless in pure form, a poor conductor of electricity, and insoluble in water. Another solid form of carbon known as graphite is the chemically stable form of carbon at room temperature and pressure, but diamond is metastable and converts to it at a negligible rate under those conditions. Diamond has the highest hardness and thermal conductivity of any natural material, properties that are used in major industrial applications such as cutting and polishing tools. They are also the reason that diamond anvil cells can subject materials to pressures found deep in the Earth. It all made sense to me now.

"You're beautiful." I said as I turned to look at the others. Rose was walking over towards us and grabbed Emmett's hand and smiled at us. "You're all so beautiful." I said as I reached over and touched Rose's arm. "It's so unrealistic that you don't even seem real. Like you could cut anything on you with just one movement."

They all chuckled when I said that. Carlisle told me everything that I wanted to know. Told me things that I would never expect to hear or know even existed in my world. But then again, Jake had said that their tribe turn into wolves but how many times I've been in the woods I never seen a wolf.

"So how did you find out?" Carlisle asked me as Esme brought me over a hot cup of tea.

"A friend of mine and Bella's name Jake, Jacob Black. He lives in La Push and mentioned about a story to us a few days ago."

"What was this story about?" Esme asked me as she sat next to me.

"Jake said; "they're supposedly descended from this, like "enemy clan." But they by claimed to be different, so we made a treaty with them." It was about the Quileutes story that they're supposedly descended from wolves?" I told them. "Is that true?"

"Yes, I don't know about your friend but back long time ago like 100 years ago some of us came across some of their pack members. We were out hunting deer and we told them our side of our ways on how we live. We're like vegetarians that's our inside joke. But since then, I haven't seen any more of their kind. But we can never be certain if it stopped with those whom we met.” The dr told me.

I just nodded at what he said. Still taking in everything, my head started feeling fuzzy so I sat down and leaned against my knees and took in deep breaths. Was I having an anxiety attack? Or was I being paranoid? I didn’t even know or think to be honest. The dr came over to me and patted my back, his cool touch on my back kinda helped.

As all I know that I knew two different species of supernatural creatures that existed for ages and that I was friends with them both. And this was gonna be kinda interesting weirdly cool in a way.
