Chapter 6

I grunt feeling a piercing headache, I tried to open my eyes but my eyelid is too heavy to lift as I slightly saw a blur vision of a room which is all white, "please God let this be a bad dream that'll wake up from" I murmured a small prayer hoping to wake up in the comfort of my bed, suddenly I felt a cold jellylike something on my wrist, my eyes fluttered open to see an unfamiliar face holding my wrist, I plunge out of the bed with piercing scream which echoed through the whole room. The big wooden door that is facing the bedroom was flung open revealing the man that I'd seen in my dream. I gazed at him in shock with a lowered jaw as it hit me that this isn't a dream but reality. I tried to scream again but he did something with his hand which left me mute and unable to speak. I tried so hard to speak, asking him to remove whatever he did to me. He sighed, gestured to the man in red to leave and stride to the bed, and sat down for a while before looking at me. "You know Demeter, you're still stubborn as before and that's what draws me to you" he pursed his lip trying to remember something, I was standing by the window trembling in fear, I still haven't figured out why I'm here or the kind of monster they are. God aren't you too good to me, mom is dead now I'm in the midst of unknown land with unknown creatures, I'd be so unfortunate. "Demeter, come here" the man before me called, snapping me out of thoughts. I snorted and turned away from him, I gasp as I felt something cold on my feet that drags me drastically to him, I struggled to stop myself from reaching him but the pull was too hard to resist, I was dropped on the bed by the pull, I clenched my fist angrily ready to defend myself from any assault. "Be calm Demeter, you don't always have to be stubborn" he placed his palm on my forehead and sighed, "see you have a high fever, you got drenched from the sea remember? That man who left a moment is an imperial doctor who is here to treat you" he asserted in a calm tone, "come on you have to get yourself treated, remember no tricks else you will be seriously ill" he mumbled. I sighed and thought about it, I wouldn't want to be sick, it would delay me from escaping. I nodded obediently, he swapped his hand and released the spell he cast on me, "a spell! I must be crazy to think that this is all an illusion" I faked a smile, he nodded and motioned to the man guarding the door to bring in the doctor. "Be good" he patted my hair and left. Damon's (Tristan) p.o.v. I was in my study with the army commander when I heard a loud noise from my chamber. I rushed in worried that something happened to her only to see her standing close to the window refusing to get treated. She attempted to scream the moment our eyes locked, I placed a silencing spell on her and groaned, I instructed them to leave suddenly, sat down on the bed, and turned my gaze at her, I suddenly had a flashback on how I met Demeter, she was promising, young and stubborn, we got into an argument that leads to a serious fight, then I was still the crown prince who was malicious and cunning, I cast a spell that ruined her face and that's how my father fixed our marriage. I sighed snapping out of trance, I tried hard in convincing her to calm down and take her treatment which she heeds to, although I was baffled how easily convinced she is but I've got no time to figure out what was going on, I notified the head maid to clean up the room opposite mine and transfer Demeter there, I would be able to keep a close watch on her. Dealing with the reborn Demeter is really problematic, she has become more stubborn and perilous, I nearly snapped but luckily I controlled myself else there would be another storm. I got up from the bed and left the room with Lysander leading the way. "My Lord, the courtroom has been set. The elites are arriving"  "Good. Notify the head maid to send servants to the lady" he bowed and left. I stepped into my inner chamber and soaked myself in the spring water prepared by the servants thinking of how to deal with Marcus. "My Lord your robe is placed on the bed" I stepped out of the water, wiped myself and got dressed with the help of Lysander, and strode to the courtroom, "the king of the Sea arrives" the herald announced, the wooden door was flung open revealing all the elites standing on their feet and bowing their heads, I walked in and sat on the armchair that is made of seashell, I took a quick glance next to me and found mom sitting at my left side, I sneered and gazed back to the crowd, "present the sinner" I declared, Marcus was dragged in by a few armies which caused murmurs and chaos in the courtroom, I flipped my hand making a loud growl of thunder outside the castle, the courtroom became calm. "Who amongst you here think they're capable of being the king? Step up the podium" Lysander asserted, I smirked and locked my eyes. "Oh, Duke castellan arrives, such a great thing to think you're capable to our king" Lysander muttered disdainfully, I gave a light smile with eyes still closed. "Guards!" He called, "seize him! He is a rebel planning to besiege the king" group of armies flooded the courtroom and captured Duke Castellan. Although my eyes were still closed I could sense the fear that had gripped them, "who else thinks they're capable of being the king?" Lysander inquired, I chuckled and opened my eyes, "perfect Lysander, you've made a great effort to fish out the traitor" I uttered.
