Darkness gradually swallowed his vision until he lost his grip on the steering wheel. After a minute, his eyes wide awakened as he realized that he had napped while driving. He should be bumped to a tree in this case, but how the hell the car still moving smoothly. Then he saw petite white hands maneuvering the steering wheel. He traced the arm behind her back and that's only the time when he went back to his senses. Surprised by the miracle, he gently stepped the break. He is speechless. He can't believe what is happening. "Thank you." It's true, without her, he must be now a lying cold body. She energetically climbed to reach the front seat. And when she does, she fixed herself and sit first before offering her hands, "Cassandra," she said with a wide excited smile. Jax accepted his offer, "Jax." An awkward silence echoed around the atmosphere. Until Cassandra tapped her chin and started to think. "Hmm... do you have any idea how to make a boyfriend?" "Make out boyfriend?" He misheard. She sweetly tapped his cheeks, "You're dirty-minded! I said 'make a boyfriend!' Not make out!" "How did you get here, by the way?" She became speechless. Wait, what had she done? She realized that this wasn't a novel anymore, this is reality. All the embarrassment she made from the bar, and here which she judged her as a hopeless aggressive woman. This isn't right, she thought. And tears started to run through her cheeks. "Don't look at me! I'm so dirty!" She cried while covering her face with her hands. "Yes, you are." ~ Patricia was lying her arms on the office table while resting her head onto it. She still felt bad about raising voice to Janna, but she thought that was the right thing to do to respect her client. She also questioned how childish Janna is, thinking her life would be better off without them. But every time she remembered the kindness her friend gave to her, she felt misserable as if she is the worst person living in the current era. "What's wrong with me?" she murmured. She checked her phone: 9:59 am It's time to update her previous client so she dialed the number of Cassandra. ["Hello? Cassandra is that you?"] The voice sounds older and the tone seems to be too much worried followed by heavy breathing. Her eyebrows furrowed. What kind of question is that? She began feeling that something must not right. "Good morning, Ma'am, is this Cassandra's number or her mother's number...?" She asked unsurely. ["This is her number, she left her phone yesterday. Wait, is she there? Cassandra, if you can hear me, I've been worried, I really am sorry--"] "Pardon me, I'm also looking for her. We had just met yesterday for a consultation." ["Oh my gosh, this is all my fault."] She sobbed. ["I'm really sorry, I'm sorry, Cassandra."] "May I know what happened?" ["Can you please help me to report it to the police? The line said they won't consider a person missing if it hasn't 24 hours yet. I'm very worried, I bet you knew the news lately."] "Sure, I will help." ["Thank you,"] her last word then hung the phone up. After, she decided to dial Yahir. But the number is busy. Hopeless, she started to generate a blank face. Until she heard footsteps so she fixed her posture and ready her self. And there is a familiar man with white tinted hair is walking into her direction--Kove Jershwin. When he reached her desk, he forcedly slam the table with a bundle of bills. Patricia was surprised by his aggressive attitude, and knew what does it wall meant. But still managed to smile and softened her voice. "Have you tried all the alternative treatment I recommended--" she was being interrupted. "Give me the f*****g pills!" "I understand that it doesn't work overnight, but it does in 6 months to one year and I believe in you." Kove sighed. With his red eyes wide opened, cheeks are red, and his veins on his neck are coming out, he unable to hold back his temper anymore. "Months?" then he shakingly pointed his eyes, "Can't you see my eyes? It was red because I forgot to drop meds on it but even I do, it still hurt!" Then he stamped again the desk by his hands with money. Patricia was left with no choice but to obey her customers. But she's really concern because sleeping pills had a serious side effect. Lunch break, she started get up and went to the food park. While sitting under the umbrella cottage, she dialed Janna. But then she remembered being a restaurant crew has no lunch break so she stopped it immediately. She hope she didn't bothered her. She sighed and tried to relax for a mean time. Observing the surrounding, she was still looking for someone. The break is done and she found nothing. Walking inside the hospital back to her office, she noticed a familiar figure of a woman. All she can see is the back as it was being turned into opposite direction. But she has the guts... she felt she was sure who is it. Tall. Wearing fashioned cream off shoulder top, mini skirt, with a skin tone of latina. It was talking to a doctor in front of the hematologist office. Patricia can't be wrong who is it. What what does her friend doing right there? She's about to near it but they went inside the office. And that moment, she confirmed that it was her- Janna. But then she realized it wasn't the time to approach her so she decided to proceed in the office. Hours had passed, it's about time. She was expecting for someone but didn't came. She wondered why, and came out with the answer "maybe Janna still feeling bad about what she've done." But she knew Janna is a matured person and maybe letting the time to pass by could resolve their situation. And when the right time had come, that's when she could finally apologize. All os a sudden, her phone rung. Her eyes widened and felt joy and excitement in her chest as she saw who is calling her. "Janna, how is it?" She quickly respond. ["Aw, it's so stressful out here but I'm enjoying my job!"] She was confused, "I-I thought it was your day-off? And I've been waiting for you." ["Wait, what? You're still at the hospital? It's already late! I'll tell Yahir to ride you home, wait him there!"] "No, don't worry, I'm okay." ["I'm sure you've heard the news, right? It's dangerous to walk alone late."] "Okay..." she said unsurely. ["We'll talk later, I just gonna call Yahir."] The phone hung up. The real thing is, she loves helping people but hates accepting help from everybody. She don't want to bother and also afraid what if someday, all the help she accepted has a price and someone will made her pay. Setting aside of that, a mystery still disturbing her mind.
