Samika's POV
I sit on the chair right beside the bed that my mom is in. She looks half her usual self. She lost a lot of weight and she looks paler than ever. A sight I never imagined her in.
The nurse is taking a nap since it's been a while and she said my mom wakes up after a couple of hours and so she takes a nap whenever my mom takes one.
I kiss my mom's forehead and then walk out of the pack hospital. I see Devon already waiting for me and I raise my eyebrow at him.
"Is there anything that you want to tell me?" I ask him and he looks at me wide eyed.
"Me? What? Why?" He asks me and I am confused.
Devon is usually so confident and he is someone who talks with authority. So watching him talk like this seems different. Something is wrong.
