Samika's POV
"Mom" I whisper with a gasp and rush to her side.
She is already wide awake and I see tears in her eyes. But she is not even attempting to wipe them as she is just staring at me.
I wipe her tears and hold her hand, but she is not holding my hand either.
"Mom. Who did this to you?" I asked her but she couldn't even say a word.
I cried as I held her hand even tighter and I noticed that tears pooled in her eyes again.
I noticed a woman standing in the room, a little farther from the bed mom is in. I haven't seen her here so she might be new to the staff. Or someone dad must have hired to take care of mom.
"What happened?" I ask her in hopes that at least she would answer what the f**k is happening here.
