CH.36

Jakob’s pov

I woke up to a text message from my beautiful mate saying ***Good morning, handsome! I just wanted to say have a great day and I love you!*** I smiled and texted her back *** Good morning, beautiful! My days will always be great because I have you as my mate. I love you too beautiful.***

I got up and went down to the gym since it was Sunday and there was no training today. While I was in the gym I heard some guys laughing and then I heard Mikael’s voice. I went to the closest machine to the wall they were behind so I could hear what was going on and what heard had my blood boiling. He was talking about how he made Brie and another girl named Myah do things together and both of them do things to him at the same time.

Then he said, “yeah I had that little sl*t in the woods yesterday bent over holding on to a tree while I f*cked her senseless." Someone asked him about his new recruits and he said 2 names that made me lose my sh*t and break the band for the machine. He said, “oh you mean Annalynn and Aspen? What about them?” the guy asked had he gotten any from them yet and he said, “I almost got some from the Luna but that b*tch ass Alpha of ours stopped it and as far as Annalynn I’ll get some from her soon. We are supposed to be meeting soon.”

I left the gym and went straight to Hardin and Aspen’s room I opened the door without thinking and walked in on something I most definitely shouldn’t have. I quickly covered my eyes and said Hardin, Aspen. I am so sorry for coming in without knocking but I need to talk to you. It's important. Hardin laughed and said, “calm down Jakob. You can uncover your eyes.” I said no offense Hardin but I don’t need to see your mate and my Luna giving you a BJ. Hardin and Aspen both busted out laughing and Aspen said, “open your eyes Jakob” I peeked and saw she was on her knees sewing a button on his pants. I said oh thank god.

Hardin asked what was wrong and I told them about what I heard in the gym. Hardin’s eyes turned black and he said, “I want him locked up and I want to be the one who rips his heart out and shoves it in his mouth as he is dying” Aspen put her hand on his shoulder and his eyes went back to normal. She looked at Hardin and said, “baby I want him punished as much as anyone because of what he did to me but you can’t let the hatred we have for him turn you into a monster like him. Hardin, we are not monsters but we will punish him to the fullest extent that the elders see fit to give him.”

I looked at Aspen and said you are going to be one of the greatest Luna in werewolf history Aspen. Any other Luna would have already had him locked up and an order put in with the elders to have him executed. I told her she is going to be a kickass Luna

Hardin’s pov

Jakob telling me what he heard Mikael saying really pissed me off I wanted to go find him and kill him right then but Aspen reminded me that I am not a monster like Mikael is. I have a good heart and she is right. I will let the elders give him the punishment they see fit and then deal with it how I am supposed to. I decided Aspen and I needed to get away for the day so I went to my office and called Wyatt and asked him to meet us at the lake close to where my property is out in the country so we can all spend the day together and I can calm down before I blow a gasket and kill Mikael. I went back to the room and told Aspen to pack a bag for the lake and plan on staying overnight.

She looked at me and said, “why are we going to the lake Hardin?” I told her so I could cool off. She nodded and didn’t say another word. I told Jakob we were leaving for the lake and he said, “please let me and Annalynn come, man, I can’t be here without you because if that SOB says something I may lose my sh*t and kill him.” I sighed and said ok be ready to go in 30 mins.

I called my dad and said I need a favor from you dad. He said, “what is it, son?” I told him I needed him and mom to meet me in my office. When they arrived my mom said, “Hardin what is going on son?” I told her to sit down and I said me, Aspen, Jakob, and Annalynn are going to the lake for the night. Jakob and I need to get away to cool off after some disturbing comments were made this morning about Aspen and Anna.

my dad looked at me and said, “go son we can handle the packhouse for a day.” I told my dad thank you and my mom said, “son I don't understand why is someone making disturbing comments about Aspen and Anna?” my mom and dad weren’t in the dining hall the day Aspen outed Mikael, I told my mom and dad about how Mikael tried to s*xually assault Aspen when we went to the ball and I stopped him from succeeding in doing it and that is how Aspen and I met and that because I banned him from the packhouse he is taking his anger out on me by using Anna. I also told them about how Daphanie has been obsessed with me since she was young and since Aspen has been in my life Daphanie has been planning to break our bond and try to get me to take her as my Luna.

my mom was sitting there with her mouth wide open and my dad was turning red in the face. I told them not to worry because we knew her plan and we were a step ahead of her plus Aspen’s ability helps too since she can hear at a good distance. My mom's eyes got big and she said, “ability?” my dad said, “yes honey ability. We believe Aspen is a blessed wolf and that was what the orb was during the ceremony”

I told them I had also filled elder Todd in on things and he has been keeping an eye on us. My dad said, “son we have the packhouse under control y’all go and breathe. Since you are going down to the lake, go to the shed and get the camping gear.” I told them thank you and headed down to Jakob’s room to get him to come help me grab the camping gear.

When I turned the corner from the stairs I heard Daphaine talking and saw her standing in Jakob’s doorway. She was asking him where he was going and who all was going with him. I mind-linked him and said tell her we are going away on business to a neighboring pack. I heard him tell her what I told him to say and she questioned him even more about what pack and who was going. I had enough of her sh*t.

I walked up behind her and growled before she turned she said, "what the f*ck do you want?" then realized who was behind her. She put her head down and said, “I am so sorry Hardin, I didn’t know it was you” I growled again and said this is the last time im going to tell you to STAY THE F**K OUT OF MY PACKHOUSE AND TO RESPECT THE RANKED MEMBERS DAPHANIE! MY NAME IS ALPHA OR ALPHA HARDIN TO YOU AND IT IS NONE OF YOUR F**KING BUSINESS WHERE WE GO OR WHO IS GOING WITH US! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR? She said, “yes Alpha” and took off.

I told Jakob to help with the camping stuff so we could get the f*ck out of the packhouse before I do something stupid. We loaded everything up and headed out to the country.
