CH.37

Aspen’s pov

I thought we were just going to the lake but then I saw a familiar road and knew we were going to my favorite place. Annalynn said, “Hardin, why are we at grandpa’s house in the country?” Hardin said, “it’s not grandfather’s anymore Anna he gave me the property for my birthday last year.” she huffed and said, “why do you always get the good stuff?” Hardin laughed and said, “because I'm older” and stuck his tongue out at her.

We pulled up to the gate and Hardin opened it. We sat there for a few minutes at the gate and Hardin made a call. A few minutes later I saw Wyatt’s car pulling up behind us and I jumped out and ran to the car. Hardin invited Trini and Wyatt too. He is the best future husband in the world. We all drove up to the house and Wyatt said, “uh Hardin I don’t think we can all fit in the house man” Hardin laughed and said, “we aren't staying here at the house. We are going to hike up to the lake by the foot of the mountain and camp there. My dad gave me all the camping gear we need for tonight.” We got everything we needed out of the cars and headed up the hill through the woods to the lake.

When we got there, it was beautiful. The lake was almost crystal clear and the mountain started right at the lake. The view was breathtaking. We got the tents set up and the guys started a fire while we girls got the food organized. Hardin told us, girls, to change and go for a swim and relax so we did. The water felt amazing. The guys changed and came out into the water with us and we all just played around and swam. This is what we needed, a break from craziness even though we had a break not too long ago. Once all this sh*t with psychotic obsessed stalker girl and her sick and demented monster brother is over we won’t need to get away as much and I can actually enjoy becoming the Luna of green moon.

Trinity’s pov

While we were all playing in the lake when I heard a chattering sound and then I heard Annalynn’s voice, she was thinking about how hot Jakob looks and how she wanted to jump on him and let him have his way with her. I gasped and she looked at me funny and mouthed the word “what”. I raised my brow and shook my head. The guys decided to see who could outswim the other and while they were doing that, I swam over to Anna and said I heard you. She looked at me and said, “what did you hear me say?” I raised my bow again and she gasped and said “NO.” I nodded and she said, “but how?” I shrugged my shoulders and she said, “so you can hear other people's thoughts” I asked her how she knew that and she said, “I could sense you might have an ability when we were at the resort.”

Aspen swam up to us and asked what we were gossiping about and I said oh just how Annalynn wants to jump on Jakob and let him have his way with her. Annalynn blushed and Aspen said, “damn Anna you tell my best friend that but can’t include me?” and laughed. Anna looked at me and then at Aspen and said, “Aspen I didn’t tell her she heard it.” Aspen looked at her confused and Anna said, I told you I thought she had an ability too.” I looked at Anna and said too? Who else has one? Aspen looked away and then back at me.

I said how you heard Hardin talking at the resort? Aspen nodded and then said, “we think Anna has one as well and that's her sensing things'' the guys came back and asked if we wanted to go on a walk up the mountain and we all said yes.

We got changed and headed up the mountain. This was such a good idea. I think we all needed time to relax and not worry about anyone or anything besides ourselves and our mates. Getting to spend time with my best friend is always a plus for me and now I have a soon-to-be brother-in-law and his sister and her mate. We are all like a little family even though only 2 out of the 6 of us are related. We actually walked all the way up the mountain and the view from there was incredible. Us 3 girls were taking pictures of the view and the guys then we all got in a group shot and that was really hard to do even with Hardin being the tallest guy we still had to bend our knees and scrunch together. It was time to head back and eat something so we all walked back down. Me and Aspen decided we would make our late lunch and the guys could cook dinner. Aspen and I made a bunch of ham and turkey sandwiches and poured chips into a big bowl. Aspen had asked the kitchen to cut up some lemons and cucumbers to put in our water if we wanted some and she also had the kitchen make 3 gallons of sweet tea.

While we were sitting there eating, Aspen said, “So what is the next step in our plan?” Annalynn said, “I forgot to tell y’all Mikael texted me again and I finally gave him a day” Hardin asked what day and Annalynn said, "I told him to meet me Wednesday by the fountain at 2. I want this done and over with so we can get on with our lives." We all agreed with her on that.

After we all ate we sat around talking then the guys decided to go fishing to try to catch dinner. We watched as they lost several fish and cursed about it. We couldn’t help but laugh at them. Aspen asked Annalynn if she and Jakob were still doing the phone thing and she blushed and said, “no. we actually decided to not do that on the phone together after the first night when I figured out Jakob was doing it” I looked at them and said what thing? Aspen said, “since Anna is still underage and Hardin is doing his protective big brother thing and won't even let them kiss I suggested that they relieve some tension over the phone.” I said oh I got ya.

I asked Annalynn why they decided not to do it and she said she feels a little awkward about it and they would rather do it in person even if it is like how they did it at the resort.” I asked what she meant and she said, “Aspen told me we could do that and not break any of Hardin’s rules by doing it in the same room but under the covers and not show anything to revealing.” I asked Annalynn how old Jakob was and she said, “he isn’t much older than me, he is only 19 and I will be 17 in a few days.”

I asked if she was having a party and she told me she didn’t want to do anything big just close family and friends then she invited me and Wyatt. The guys came back with 12 nice-sized fish and said they were going to clean them and get them ready to be cooked. Aspen got the pan out and some of the sides. Then she got all the plates, silverware, and cups out. The guys came back and Hardin told Aspen thank you for getting things ready for them then gave her a big kiss. I am so happy my best friend is happy and in love. I don’t think I could be happy if she was miserable and without a mate. While the guys cooked dinner we girls got the air mattresses and blankets set up in the tents then we went and sat by the lake and waited on dinner.

Hardin’s pov

Me and the guys were cooking the fish we caught for dinner while the girls sat by the lake. I had been thinking about my rules for Jakob and Anna and decided to let up a little. They have both behaved and I decided to give them a little more freedom and allow them to be able to kiss and since we were camping and they were sharing a tent I decided to let Jakob get close to my sister in the tent. I looked up at Jakob and said Jak you and Anna have respected my rules and I thought about it and I am giving y’all my permission to kiss but you can only do it while we are away from the pack or y’all are in our room until this sh*t is over and you can get close to her in the tent but no touching like I know you want to do.

He smiled and said, "thank you bro and I promise my hands will behave until she is old enough." I shuttered at the thought he just put in my head and sighed. I know Anna is almost an adult but I want her to remain pure like I did until she is 18. I know you aren’t but for her, it will be so much better for her mentally if she makes that decision as a legal adult. Look at Aspen and how broken she was when we met and look at her now.

He said, “Hardin you are not just my Alpha, you are like a brother to me and I respect your advice and opinion. I would be the same way if I had a little sister. Well I mean I kinda do but it’s not the same. I promise you I will respect Annalynn and when she is mentally ready to be with me in that way I will treat her with nothing but love and respect.” I shook his hand and said I'm proud to have you as a brother Jakob.

Wyatt looked left out so I turned to him and said and you, I am proud to have you as a brother as well Wyatt even though you aren’t biologically Aspen’s brother, you have always been there for her and treated her as a sister. He said, “awe shucks man you got me all teary-eyed now" and laughed. Then Wyatt said, “no but seriously man thank you. One of my biggest fears was that Aspen was going to put herself in a box and never be able to get back out of it. I feared she would never trust a guy enough to give her heart to them and be happy. I see a big difference in her since y’all met and I am thankful you came into her life.”

once the fish was done we all sat down and ate, then the girls put some music on and we danced by the fire and watched the moon rise to its peak and we all went to bed.
