CH.8

(Hardin's pov)

When I tell my family that Aspen is my mate they are so happy for us. My mom is crying, my dad is smiling and congratulating us and my little sister is excited to have a sister who she can talk to and hang out with now. After introductions, we head inside to take Aspen to her suite on my floor so she can put her bag away. That way I can give her a tour until dinner. Once Aspen has her bag put away, we begin our tour starting with my floor. I show her my office and my suite which is right next to hers. We work our way down to the next floor which is the floor for the Beta's in my pack. We get to Jakob's office and I introduce them. They both laugh and tell me they met at the party. Then we move on to the Gamma's floor. I take Aspen to meet Thomas, my gamma but I learn they met at the party as well. We move on to the family floor. Then we move on to the recreational floor. There are a bunch of Omega's that I know hanging out on the rec floor so I decided to introduce Aspen to them. As we walk up to the group of Omega's, I see one person I could have gone without seeing. Daphanie. Daphanie is Mikael's sister and she has been trying to get me to date her but I'm not attracted to her. Plus she has slept with almost every guy in our pack and some outside the pack. She has even ruined some of the mate bonds. As we get closer to them, I can see the nasty look on Daphanie's face. When we walk up to them, I greet the Omega's and turn to Aspen and say this is Aspen, she is here visiting the pack to get to know what kind of pack I run because she will be moving here soon and will be your future Luna. Aspen is my mate and I expect you all to treat her with nothing but respect. I can already tell that when I said Aspen was my mate that pissed Daphanie off. I look at all the Omega's and say do I make myself clear? They all say,

"Yes, Alpha." I continue to show Aspen around until I get a mind-link from Jakob letting me know dinner is ready.

(Daphanie's pov)

I'm hanging out in the packhouse with my friends Ciara, Aryia, Brie, and Myah. When Hardin walks up with that b*tch. He introduces her and then tells us she is his mate and our future Luna. There is no way in hell I will ever call her my Luna. She will not take the place as Luna of green moon, that is my place! Hardin is mine and I will have what belongs to me in the end! As soon as they walk away Myah looks over at me and says,

"Why didn't you claim what's yours?"

I look at her and say, you know as well as I do if I would have even tried to go after her Hardin would kill me. Trust me that ugly ass b*tch won't be here long. I'm going to find a way to make sure she rejects Hardin. Brie walks off and Ciara and Aryia both look at me and Ciara says,

"Daphanie you need to let it go, you know Hardin won't take it easy on you if he finds out what you are planning on doing, and even if you find a way to get away with it, you know Hardin doesn't feel the same way about you." I will do whatever I have to do to make Hardin fall in love with me I snap.

(Hardin's pov)

We make our way to the dining hall and Aspen freezes as soon as she sees how many people are in the dining hall. I ask her if she is ok and she looks at me and says she is but I can sense she isn't, so I ask if she would be more comfortable eating in her suite. She nods her head and I go tell the kitchen staff to send up 2 plates to Ms. Wright's suite. We go up to her room and sit in the living area and talk until our food arrives. When the kitchen Omega's brought up our plates, we sat there and ate. After dinner, I had the kitchen prepare a pot of coffee and a special dessert for Aspen and I. It was like a strawberry shortcake but it is called strawberry fluff cake. Pretty much the same thing as a shortcake but mixing the whipped cream in with heavy whipping cream and adding marshmallows. It is one of my favorite desserts and I figured I'd share it with Aspen. One bite and she was asking how it was made because it was now her new favorite dessert. I laughed and said well once you move in I'll be able to get in the kitchen with you and show you how it's made since I came up with it and it is my favorite dessert as well. After dessert, we sat there and drank coffee and talked about my childhood.

(Aspen's pov)

After dessert, Hardin and I sat in my suite drinking coffee and talking until about midnight. He then headed back to his room and I suddenly felt lonely. I got in bed and tried to go to sleep but I couldn't. It felt like I was missing something. I tossed and turned for about 30 minutes then I decided to walk down to Hardin's room. When I got to his door, I hesitated on knocking on his door but finally did and he opened the door. He was only wearing a pair of gym shorts and was sweating. I thought I may have interrupted something so I apologized and said I'd go back to my room. As I turned to walk away he grabbed my hand and said,

"Aspen, wait." He asked me if I was ok and I told him I was but I was having a hard time falling asleep.

He asked me to come into his room and apologized for his appearance, then told me he had been working out in his room because he couldn't sleep either. I walked into his room and sat down on the lounge seat near his balcony door. I was really nervous and I think he could tell. He asked if I wanted a bottle of water and I nodded. Hardin sat down next to me and asked why I couldn't sleep. I told him it was like something was missing. He nodded his head and said he was feeling the same way. He told me to give him a few minutes and let him jump in the shower, that he had an idea that may help both of us sleep. I was kind of embarrassed to be sitting in his room so close to his bathroom while he was getting in the shower. I heard the water turn on and I'm not going to lie, I peeked around the doorway just as he was taking his shorts off. Thankfully he was wearing boxers otherwise I probably wouldn't have been able to face him when he came back out. I have to admit from the view I was getting, he has a nice ass, and from the front view I saw, he is well endowed. I could feel my cheeks burning. Not long after he jumped in, I heard the shower being turned off and Hardin walked out with just a towel wrapped around his waist and I swallowed hard. A soft moan escaped my mouth without me even wanting it to. Hardin turned around and asked if I was enjoying the view and I nodded. He stepped inside his closet and when he came back out he had on a T-shirt and PJ pants. Oh my goddess, this man is the god of sexiness! He sat down on the edge of his bed and said he had an idea that might help both of us sleep. I raised my brow at him and asked what he had in mind and he said let's try both of us lay in my bed and see if that helps calm the feeling we both have. I said I don't know Hardin, I don't know if I'll be comfortable with it. He looked at me and said,

"Aspen I promise you nothing will happen, just us laying there. I told you already I'm not going to pressure you into doing something you don't want to do." I finally said ok and he helped me get up on the bed.

He pulled the covers over me and he laid on top of them then he asked if I was still feeling the same way and I said a little but it wasn't as bad as before. He turned to face me and put his arm over my waist and it was instant relief from the missing feeling I felt earlier. I asked Hardin if he felt any different and he said he did. That he felt more relaxed. The next thing I knew I was waking up with a very sexy man laying next to me with his arm around me and he was snoring. I tried to get out of the bed without waking him but that didn't happen as soon as I moved his arm he looked at me and said,

"Good morning my beautiful Luna." I smiled and said good morning my sexy Alpha and as soon as those words left my mouth I realized what I had said and covered my face in embarrassment.

He pulled my hands away and said, "my love, there is no reason to hide your face. It's ok it's not like you just blurted out you wanted to f*ck me or anything like that." Hardin got up and went to get dressed and said it was time for breakfast.

I told him I'd meet him at the stairs once I got ready. I went back to my room and took a shower then got dressed. As I opened the door, I heard a female voice coming from the stairway and then I heard Hardin. He sounded pissed. I thought about closing the door but decided to see why he was so mad. Then I realized who he was talking to. It was that girl from yesterday Daphanie. I believe that is her name. I listened closely and heard her begging him to give her a chance saying, I couldn't possibly be a strong Luna like she could and saying, I wasn't as pretty as her either. Hardin raised his voice and said,

"I'm not going to tell you again Daphanie, I do not want to be with you! You have been trying since you turned 18 and not once have I given you any reason to think I would ever be with you! I found my mate and I love her!! You will drop this nonsense crap and obey your Alpha and show your future Luna respect do you understand me?" "Yes Alpha '' she replied.

I walked up before she walked away and I wrapped my arms around Hardin's waist and said Hardin, I accept that we are destined mates and I want to become the future Luna and run this pack by your side, my love. The look on her face was pure hatred and rage but Hardin looked like a pup on Christmas morning. He asked if I was sure and I said yes Hardin, I am sure. This is where the moon goddess saw my future and this is where my future lies. Daphanie ran off and Hardin grabbed me and kissed me so passionately. Then we walked down for breakfast.
