CH.7

(Aspen's pov)

I wake up to the sound of a deep growling snore and quickly sit up. Ugh, bad idea, my head is spinning now. I look over and see an almost empty bottle of patron and a sleeping hunk lying at the other end of the couch. I slowly stand up and make my way to the bathroom to wash my face. Once I'm done, I look at myself in the mirror and I'm startled by the gorgeous man staring at me through it. I turn and say hi, very shyly he smiles and says,

"Hi, beautiful," I said I um, have to ask a question, um, did I uh do.. he cuts me off and says,

"My love, nothing happened I promise you. We did drink a bit more than we should have but I could tell you really needed it and I kept you from doing anything you would regret."

I asked if I tried to do anything and he said, "No." He said the only thing I did was crawl in his lap when I got sleepy but as soon as my head was on his chest I was out like a light."

He did admit he held me in his arms for a few minutes, just taking in my scent and feeling my heart beating in rhythm with his but he then laid me on the couch and was going to sleep on the floor but I started to cry when he got up and as soon as he sat back down, I calmed down so he laid at the other end and watched me sleep until he fell asleep. I feel my cheeks start burning and I know they have to be bright red right now. I apologize for last night and he stops me and says,

"My love, there is no reason for you to apologize. You did nothing wrong. You had a very traumatic day and I am not mad, upset, or offended in any way. I enjoyed spending last night with you and getting to know my future wife and Luna."

I tell him I enjoyed what I could remember and then laugh at that comment. I ask Hardin how he will be getting home and he smiles and says, he will call his future Beta Jakob to come get him. I think for a second and then tell him that he doesn't have to call anyone he could stay another night or I could take him home and maybe stay the night with him to see where I'll be living soon. As soon as I finished what I was saying, his face lit up and he was smiling from ear to ear. We decided that I should stay with him tonight and get to know my future home and some of the pack members, minus the douche bag Mikael. I called my parents to let them know that I would be going to stay at green moon for the night to spend some time getting to know my future home and my mom freaked out in excitement. My dad had that protective vibe going and asked which wolf he needed to scare. I busted out laughing and said dad, I promise you that is not needed. I then tell my parents that my mate just happens to be green moon pack's soon-to-be Alpha. My mom is so happy and my dad just sits quietly. I ask if he is ok and he says he is but it is very overwhelming for him. After we got off the phone, I packed an overnight bag then Hardin and I got on the road.

(Hardin's pov)

As I sit here next to Aspen while she drives, I can't help but look over and steal glances at my world. I know us being mated has a lot to do with the love I have for her not even 24 hours after we met but I truly believe that if there was no such thing as destined mates and we would have crossed paths I would have fallen in love with her anyway. The woman sitting next to me is absolutely gorgeous. I love how shy she is, how caring she is and how innocent she is even with everything that has happened to her. I can not wait to introduce her to my family and my pack. We are about an hour away and I decided to ask Aspen if she would like to take a break from driving and go grab something to eat. She says she would love to stop and grab lunch since we skipped breakfast. I ask her what she would like to eat and she says she could go for some panda express. I turned and asked if she was a mind reader because that was what I was thinking about and hoping she would be up for. We decided to go inside and sit instead of eating in the car, we placed our orders and we ended up with the same flavored chicken but she likes the white rice and I like the fried. We sat there and ate and got to talking about who she would be meeting during her trip to my pack. I could tell she was very nervous. When we finished our lunch, we got back on the road. We were 20 minutes away and I could see Aspen was even more nervous. I placed my hand on her knee and gave it a little squeeze. She smiled and relaxed a little. As we approached the main gate, I called the gate guards to let them know it was me coming in and they opened the gate and we headed to the packhouse. I text my dad to let him know I'm back and will be pulling up any minute with someone very special. When we pull up in front of the packhouse, my dad, mom, and sister are standing there waiting on us. I walk around to the driver's side and help Aspen out of the car. I look over at my family, my mom has tears in her eyes and my sister has her hands together with a big smile on her face. My dad looks at Aspen then at me and back to Aspen with a big proud smile on his face and I let out a sigh of relief. We walk over to my parents and sister and I introduce them to Aspen.

(Unknown pov)

I couldn't wait for Hardin to come home. I've been pacing by my window waiting to see Jakob's SUV pass by but nothing so far. After about 2 hours, I saw an unfamiliar car pass by but didn't get a look at the driver. That has to be Hardin. I put on my shoes and ran towards the packhouse. When I get close, I see Hardin get out of the passenger side and walk around to the driver. The door opens and this girl gets out holding Hardin's hand. My wolf Amyah is growling and I have a pain in my chest. Who is the b*tch holding my man's hand? I stand behind a tree that is close to the packhouse entrance to get a better look at her and listen to who she is and why she is here. As I peek around the tree, Hardin turns his head in my direction and I hide before he sees me. I can hear his sister giggling and his mom has tears running down her face. Then I hear him say she is the female Beta from blood-orange moon and she is his mate. I can feel my heartbreak. I turn and run back towards my house and as I'm running, I think about how I want to run up to her and rip her head off but I know I can't do that. I'll have to find a way to run her off.
