Chapter 34- Silly Dream

2566 Words
Sophie “Demi…” I mumbled before closing the door quietly. The siblings had no idea I was eavesdropping while they talked in the hallway after I left them to sleep. It makes sense now to me. The dots were connected after I noticed the box on his table earlier. I thought it was just a coincidence. Demi was the same mysterious lady I had seen earlier at the coffee shop. The gift was the same, and so was the vanilla smell. “Interesting…” Sammy seemed to be holding back some information from me. “Sophie?” My eyes gaped after hearing Elisha. I looked back and saw her sitting on her bed, turning her bedside lamp on, “Hey... You want to pee?” “Yes, still awake, though? What time is it?” Elisha asked, sluggishly walking to the bathroom. I followed the sleepy-head knocked-up lady. “Yes, I can’t sleep. It's already one in the morning.” I answered, resting my sore back on the door frame. Elisha nodded, her eyes barely open as she looked at me. “Are they here?” “Yes, I think they have just arrived. I went downstairs to get some cold drinks.” A small smile played on my lips. I should feel guilty for hiding, but my sneaky night out with Sammy seemed thrilling and toe-curling. “Okay…Is your shirt inside-out?” Elisha asked in her sleepy voice. I slowly looked down and noticed she was right. My black oversized shirt was inside out. “Yes, I didn’t notice it,” I sheepishly answered. She just shook her head and continued her business. Luckily, Elisha was too sleepy to ask. Elisha and I went back to bed and snuggled until we fell asleep. The following day, we woke up early for breakfast. I’d be swamped since I had to add more decorations to the massive ballroom hall of the mansion and wrap gifts for the party and our presents for Gideon. Mika postponed our meet-up at a restaurant, but instead, she would come here in the afternoon and help me. As for Sammy, he hadn’t messaged me his ritual good morning message. I bet he was still asleep. He was tired, so I was, but I didn’t show Elisha how sore my muscles were. “El…Are you okay?” I knocked on the door. Elisha was taking a break in the bathroom. I had already showered before her to ensure she wouldn’t see any hickeys Sammy must’ve left on my skin. “Yes…yes…Hold on.” “Okay. We will go downstairs soon.” I said, carefully sitting on the bed. My butt cheeks were tender from the slapping and smacking I got from Sammy. He was so playful and silly in the shower. I couldn’t shout or complain, knowing the rooms weren’t soundproofed. It was already embarrassing enough that Sam had seen me leave her brother's room. Though I told her another lie, I bet my bottom dollar she was already suspicious about us. About a minute later, Elisha came out of the bathroom, went to her underwear drawer, and took another one. I stood up and checked on her. “Oh. You just took a shower. Why change your undies again?” I curiously asked. “Oh, it's too tight for me,” Elisha answered, putting on her new undies. “Okay. We need to shop for maternity clothes soon,” I suggested, shaking my head. “You need granny panties,” I joked, poking her side. We hadn’t shopped for new clothes for her, and so far, she has just been wearing oversized shirts. “Stop! But yeah! I badly needed it!” Elisha giggled. “Let’s go. I miss Gideon!” I said, thinking about the little boy. Sammy hadn’t told me what time he would be calling Tom. “Me too!” Elisha and I left her bedroom and went downstairs. We both looked for Gideon when we saw Almira walking down the stairs. “Is he awake?” I asked. “Nope, still snuggling with his mom,” Almira answered. “Let’s just wait in the living room,” Elisha suggested. “Better! Breakfast will be ready soon,” Almira replied. Elisha and I went to the living room hangout. We took a lot of selfies using her new phone. I even took photos of her since she looked beautiful, even in her simple attire. “Sophie! I dreamt of you last night,” Elisha said as we checked the photos on her phone. I looked at her and smiled, “Tell me!” Elisha chuckled, “I walked in on you having shower s*x with someone!” “Oi! Elisha?! What the hell?!” I grumbled in surprise, “Do you miss having s*x with Kyle?!” I rebutted. My face felt warm for some well-known reason. “Stop!” Elisha laughed, saying, “Yes, but I didn’t see his face. Maybe that's why your shirt was inside out earlier!” “Ohhh! Come on! Such a silly dream!” “Ha-ha! I'm just pulling your leg!” “Ugh!” I could only say it out of guilt. It may have occurred in Elisha's dreams, but it actually happened last night, just right next door. I took my phone and checked for any messages. I was so engrossed that I didn’t notice Sammy walking by. I just heard Elisha greet him. “Hey, Sammy!” I looked up and saw that he looked tired and sick. The dark circles under his eyes were apparent on his face. “El! You’re back! Hey, Sophie!” He walked toward us. I noticed him clutching his phone and seeming to be on hold. “You look exhausted!” Elisha commented. Sammy glanced at me. “I am. I just came back from an eighteen-hour shift,” he said. I knew right away that it was a lie. I was with him just a few hours ago. I wondered why, but I asked him instead to lighten up his mood. “Do you need some massage?” I remarked. I somehow wanted to know if he would play along with me. But instead, Sammy froze as he looked at me, frowning in surprise. “Sophia?!” “I was just kidding, right, Sammy?” I winked. Sammy chuckled. “Of course you are.” “See?! Just leave your bedroom door open, and I’ll be there soon,” I seriously said, glancing at Elisha. “Sophia Kay?!” “Oh, Sophie…Sophie, such a naughty lady,” Sammy snorted with a hint of his sexy smirk. I always loved seeing it. “Yeah, just go,” he laughingly added before walking backward, narrowing his eyes at us, particularly at me. I gestured with my fingers like a gun. “See you soon, doc,” I said. Sammy seemed to avoid my flirtatious innuendos. I knew he wasn’t ready yet to reveal us, either, but seeing his reaction was just funny. “Oy!” I shrieked in surprise. Elisha pinched my boobs. “You’re not serious, are you? What’s with the flirting?! You only met him twice! What was that?!” Elisha threw questions at me. She was genuinely oblivious to my covert affinity with Sammy. We had met more than twice and shared some steamy moments in bed. I laughed out loud. “Ugh! I was just kidding! I know we only met twice last time, but we started messaging ever since,” I answered. It was true. “You’re lying!” “I am not! I told him he’s my crush.” “And what did he say?” “He’s not interested in me.” “Bítch!? Did you really?” I looked straight into Elisha’s eyes. “Yes, Elisha. Apparently, he wanted to finish his residency and specialty before anything else,” I coolly shared. I heard him saying it last night. Therefore, he was not ready to fulfill his promise to Demi and settled with me. The only thing I needed to know was Demi. Who she was in Sammy’s life. I shared my life and troubles with Chase with him, but he didn’t mention Demi’s name once. “And what’s the plan?!” I was about to answer when we heard someone yell Elisha’s name. “Ishaaa!” It was Gideon who excitedly ran toward us. He greeted his favorite aunt with a tight hug. “Didion! Smells so good!” The two hugged each other. Elisha kissed his hair before glancing and mouthing ‘later.’ She seemed interested in my plan about Sammy, but of course, I did not intend to tell her everything. “Isha!” Gideon squeezed Elisha, kissing her bump repeatedly. “I miss babies!” he said, making me awed by his sweetness. I probably knew where he got that sweetness, aside from Samantha. I could see a little Samuel doing it like Gideon. “Babies miss you too!” I saw Elisha be so lovely to the little boy. He missed Elisha more than me and was cool with it. “I love you, and Isha missed you too!” “I have fish!” Gideon said, taking the stuffed toy fish he had dropped earlier when he ran towards us. “This!” “Aww! A fish! Thank you!” Elisha beamed wide and looked at me with a fish toy in her hand. “He gave me a fish!” “Awwww. Our sweet Gideon,” I commented. He probably got it from his fish-lover Uncle Kyle. “Where is Phie-Phie’s hug and kiss?” I asked. Gideon giggled, “Otay!” he said, moving beside me and standing between my legs. I hugged his tiny body tight. “I miss Phie-Phie,” he mumbled on my tummy. “No baby here,” he poked my belly. My eyes saucered before I laughed out loud at his remark. “Oh, no baby here!” I snickered, peppering him with kisses. “Oh, silly boy,” Sam said, smirking at me. I was dumbfounded and felt the blush creep all over my entity. Of course, there will be no baby inside me unless Sammy's pull-out game last night fails. “He did it with me last night!” she winked at me. “Yes! He wanted babies on Sam’s belly too.” Kyle said, finally noticing him standing tall next to his twin. “Maybe ask Tom,” I chimed back, cradling Gideon on my lap to hide my mortification. “Daddy Tom-Tom?” Gideon looked at me. “Yes, your daddy Tom-Tom,” Kyle coolly answered. “Daddy Tom-Tom not here,” Gideon cutely gestured nothing, shrugging his shoulders. It made everyone laugh. I kissed Gideon’s hair and murmured, “Soon, my love... You’ll meet your daddy…” They were all busy giggling. I bet they didn’t hear what I said. Then, I saw Sammy on my peripheral, showing me his phone and gesturing that he would return upstairs. I nodded at him and winked. “Is that your wish, my sweet boy?” I asked Gideon, rubbing his back as he snuggled up to me. Yet, before anyone could react, a voice echoed in the living room. “Where is the birthday boy?!” My heart raced as I thought of someone, but that didn’t last as we looked at the door and saw Nana Delia. “Nana!” Gideon wiggled his way out of my hold and ran towards Nana. “Gideon! My lovely boy,” Nana smilingly replied, hugging the boy tight. “Oh, you looked great, my sweet boy. Did you enjoy the beach and sand? It looks like you do. Look at your skin! You aren’t pale anymore,” she stated, making us smile. “Yes, Nana! I have fish!” “Oh, yes. I want to see that fish,” “There, with Isha!” Nana looked at us. “Elisha, darling. Hello, everyone!” She then smiled brightly at me. “Nana!” “Elisha…” Nana walked towards Elisha with Gideon. She embraced her tightly and asked, “How are you, sweety? Hello, babies,” rubbing her waist. “Nana, I miss you,” Elisha sobbed as she and Nana talked before us. I felt in awe as well, seeing the two together. I hadn’t talked to Nana in a while. I was happy she was here for Elisha. “Stop crying. It's bad for babies. You looked better. I hope they are not giving you a hard time.” “Thank you, Nana... Oh, they’re good! No vomiting for the last two days.” “That’s great to hear…Can I hold it too?” Kyle chimed in, and I almost jumped on him and smacked his ass again. His audacity to ask Elisha was unbelievable. The silence lingered as Elisha ignored Kyle like a non-existent person. “Sam! I’m here!” Another voice broke the thick atmosphere. “Feliz!” It was Feliz. The beautiful woman who would also become my future boss arrived as well. She was Sam’s partner in the law firm. Sam mentioned that I might work with Feliz too, whenever she was around in the offices. “Good morning!” Feliz greeted us, and then she looked at Nana and Elisha. “Elisha, Nana Delia…” For some reason, something was lurking in the atmosphere that I couldn’t put my finger on. Sammy had mentioned it once, but he didn’t go into detail about Felicity and her past troubles. “Felicity…” Nana Delia mumbled. “Hi, Feliz,” Elisha greeted the lady, too, making Nana glance at her with astonishment. “Oh, no! I haven’t asked or spoken with Elisha,” Felicity answered. “I’ll find time,” she said, adding to my curiosity. I had to know. “Oh, okay,” Nana smiled. I silently observed what was happening around me. It fortified my suspicion that something was happening, and the only person I knew who could enlighten me was Sammy. Now I had two things to ask from him. Who Demi and Felicity were. An awkward silence enveloped us when we suddenly heard a loud yet cute fart. Our eyes scoured around, and then I saw Gideon, holding and crouching on the side of the couch next to me. “Oh, no. Are you okay?” I asked, wondering what he was doing. Then the smell hit me, and I flinched. Gideon grinned and winced at me. He looked like he was trying to push something out of his body. “I toot…” he embarrassingly mumbled, cracking us up. The tension and awkwardness left the room as we giggled and snickered at his silliness. “Gideon, you're like your Daddy Ky! Let's go,” Almira commented, taking Gideon with her. “Otay…” Gideon went with Almira, leaving us in stitches as we watched the two climb the stairs. “That’s funny,” Kyle mumbled. “Oh, God... Gideon,” Sam palmed her face. “He’s getting naughtier these days,” she said, shaking her head. “Breakfast is ready!” We heard Yelena announce. I suddenly felt famished after hearing Yelena announce the breakfast. “Let’s go!” I stood up and led the way to the dining hall. 1/3
