Marcus POV
To say that I wasn’t surprised is an understatement. Never that I thought tonight she would finally agree to marry me again for the second time. I guess I have to give some credit to Mrs. Smith. If it wasn’t for her breaking in, maybe this wouldn’t happen. “What did you say?” I asked her again with a smile. I wanted her to repeat those words again to me.
Her face is blushing, but she looked slightly angry. “ I know you heard me, Marcus.” She said with an annoyed tone. She turned around to leave, but I was quick to catch her. “No, I don’t think I heard that clearly,” I said, stopping her. “Don’t make me changed my mind again. Come on, Let’s go home before we’re getting into another trouble tonight.” She threatened me. I had to restrain my laughter. She never failed to entertain me. She is always playing hard to get in front of me while I knew she also wants me. I finally agreed to leave the school with her.
I threw myself on my bed after I took her back home. I impressively managed to bring her back before 10. As expected, her dad was ecstatic to hear the good news from us. He said that he would help with the wedding preparation first thing tomorrow morning.
My mind suddenly wandered back to Charlotte. Even though I could pretend that I didn’t give a damn about her in front of Simone, but her behavior started to make me worried. I just saw Simone almost killed her right in front of my eyes. I believe if she kept doing that, I couldn’t do anything to stop Simone next time. I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath, soon the tiredness took over me, and I drifted into a deep sleep.
*******************
I was sitting on the sofa with Alpha Alex, waiting for Simone to come out with another dress. We were supposed to help her pick out her wedding dress. This is her sixth dress already, and she hasn’t like any dress that she had tried before. “Simone, have you finished?” Her dad asked her to came out.
After a while, the curtain unveiled, and then she walked out slowly. The dress has a beautifully detailed lace lining, that form-fitting dress hugged her curves at the right place. She is stunning. I was speechless by her appearance. She looked like a bride in this dress, and to be precise – my bride. “So, what do you think?” she looked at me and then to her dad.
“I think you look marvelous, Simone. Do you like this dress?” Alpha Alex said as he nodded approvingly. “I don’t know. I think I’ll let Marcus decide…” I suddenly snapped out from my own thought. “Which one do you hate less?” she asked timidly. “I think you look gorgeous in all of them,” I said with a smirk.
She rolled back her eyes at me. “You’re not helping.” She said, pouting her lips. “Come on, Marcus. Stop teasing her.” Alpha Alex said, looking at me. I let out a chuckle, “I like this one. It suits you well.” I said, smiling. “Okay, it’s settled then. We’ll take this one.” Alpha Alex said.
My smile soon fades as Noah tried to communicate with me through my mind. ‘Alpha, you need to get back to your pack now. Your dad is not in good condition.’ ‘What happened to him?’ I asked. ‘Some rogues tried to invade our pack. We just had a fight, and he was injured by a silver bullet.’ I clenched my fist and instantly got up from the chair.
“What’s the matter, Marcus?” Simone asked in a worried tone. She must’ve sensed something went wrong from my odd reaction. “I have to go now. My pack was under attack.” I told her. Alpha Alex went rigid and also got up from his chair. “I’ll come with you.” He said, offering his help.
“No, that wouldn’t be necessary. You both stayed here.” I said, turned around, making my way out.
I hopped into my car, and the next thing I know, I saw Simone hopped into my passenger seat beside me. “Simone, I’ve told you to stay away from this,” I snarled. “Your pack is going to be mine as well. Let me help you to protect our pack.” She insisted, clasping her seat belt. “I don’t want you to get hurt,” I said, rejecting her dangerous offer.
“I’m taking you back to your pack first,” I stated with a final tone. I drove the car towards her mansion. There’s no way I’m taking her with me. Simone held my hand on the steering wheel. “Please let me come with you.” She pleaded. “Or I’m not going to talk to you anymore, and you can kiss the wedding goodbye.” She threatened me. This woman is so stubborn, her head must’ve harder than a stone.
I let out a breath of desperation, “Okay, fine. But you’ll stay in the car.” I said. She didn’t say anything, and I turned the wheels towards my pack. I just hoped that I wasn't too late.
After we got there, I still saw Noah fighting with a few werewolves. “Stay in the car!” I told Simone and locked the door from outside. “Marcus!! Let me out!!” I heard her shouting, but I ignored it. I shifted towards my wolf form and stood beside Noah.
There are at least ten of them, and we’re now down to four. Two wolves jumped towards me and were about to attack me, but I quickly dodge and kicked them back. One wolf suddenly jumped from the back and bit my neck. I groaned in pain and threw him away in one kick.
“Alpha!?!!” I heard Noah screamed. I looked to my right, and then I saw him. A man holding a gun pointed towards me. It happened very quickly. I felt like the time had stopped as I couldn’t avoid his shot. He shot me right in my chest. I felt a burning sensation in my chest, and it was too painful to bear. The pain doubled as time passed. I shifted towards my human form, falling to the ground.
Before I passed out, I saw a white wolf jumped and attacked the man. It was Simone. No! She shouldn’t be here. After a few spins and kicks, she finally able to kill their leader. The rest of them were running away after that.
Simone shifted back towards her human form and ran towards me. I saw her beautiful face now full of sadness. “Marcus, can you hear me?” she said, taking my hands. I remember that I used my remaining energy to smiled at her before the darkness took over me.
