CHAPTER 8 - Revelation

Marcus POV   “Charlotte! Go back to the pack now! This is an order from me.” I told her in a firm tone. She still looked deeply at Simone, not even sparing a glance at me. I was about to drag her from the spot when Simone reacts, “Ok, I’ll accept your challenge.” I was halted for a second. I went to look at Simone. “Don’t bother about her, Simone. It’s late already, and I should bring you home.” I took her hands, but she shoved them away. “Let me have a fight with her, Marcus. She seemed to be interested in me. I’ve been noticing that she kept staring at me since earlier.” She said, looking back at Charlotte with a challenging look in her eyes. “Let’s go to the woods. We don’t want to cause a problem here.” Simone said and turned around, but suddenly Charlotte stopped her. “In human form, we will do it here,” Charlotte said with a sly smirk on her face.  Simone looked confused at first, but then she was the first one to land a punch on her face. Charlotte staggered back and was about to punch her back, but Simone was fast to catches her hand. Using her other hand, Charlotte landed a punch on her stomach. Simone groans in pain. I wanted to help her, but Simone got up quickly. Shit! I never thought Charlotte was a fierce warrior as well. Or is it because she was burned in jealousy? She made a quick spin and kicked Charlotte right in her chest. I saw Charlotte fell to the ground and not moving. When Simone turned around, Charlotte suddenly got back up again and stabbed her from the back. My mind went blank, processing what I just saw. I only saw red. “No! Simone!” I screamed and held her in my arms. “Is this your luna? She may be a tough warrior, but she is not smart. You’re choosing wrong, Marcus.” Charlotte said in a condescending tone. I pulled out the knife from her back, “Silver knife. Where did you even get these?!” I yelled at her. Silver was the deadliest weapon for a werewolf, it was lethal. Just assume she survived. It will take a long time to heal. She never answered my question, “Marcus…” she finally said after seeing a disappointed look from me. “Just go, Charlotte! I don’t ever want to see your face again in this pack!” I stated in anger. God knows that I was holding my urges to kill her right now. “You can’t kick me out from this pack! I’ve been here since I was born!” She reasoned with me, her chest was heaving up and down because of her inconsistent breathing. I grabbed her neck again. “GO!?!! BEFORE I KILL YOU!” I was almost shifted into my wolf because of raging anger inside of me. She squealed as I threw her body to the ground. She got up groggily and ran to the woods. I actually protect her this time. My dad won’t spare her life if he catches her because he despises traitors the most. Hurting luna is one of the greatest sins that she could ever commit to the pack. I carried Simone back to the pack. Dad went frantic after he saw Simone was lying pale in my arms. She had lost a lot of blood. “What happened, Marcus?” Dad pulled me out of the room and investigating me. “Charlotte did this…” I diverted my eyes from him as I replied. “What? That woman has gone mad! I’ve told you many times to get rid of her! Now she’s causing trouble.” He flared with anger. “I already kicked her out from our pack. She is gone for good forever.” I explained further. “I hope she truly goes for good this time. I don’t even know how to explain this to Alpha Alex. He might have canceled the wedding because of this!” Dad said in a worried tone. No! I won’t let this matter ruined our plan to get married. I can’t give up on Simone right now…not after I met her. I only want her as my wife. “He doesn’t have to know, Dad. I’ll tell him that Simone will stay here for a week until the wedding.” I told him about my plan. “I don’t know if he was going to approve that. He cares about his daughter a lot. That’s why he chose you, Marcus. He believes in you.” Dad replied after a long moment of silence. “That’s exactly the point, Dad. He believes in me. Just let me handle this problem by myself.” I stated firmly. ****************** After a long talk with Alpha Alex on the phone, he finally let Simone stay over at my place until the wedding. He was almost suspecting me as if he knows that something just happened here. I took a seat beside her bed. She still looked pale. I wanted to be here when she woke up. I never know exactly when I was falling into a deep slumber.  Someone’s patting my head slowly. As I lifted my face, I saw Simone smiled at me weakly. It was still in the middle of the night. “Marcus…Why am I still here?” That was the first question she asked me. She must be thinking about her dad. “Ssshhh…I already told your dad that you’ll be staying here for a week. You should rest, Simone.” I stroked her hair gently. “You have talked to my dad?” she asked me again in disbelief. “Yes, but I didn’t tell him the real reason,” I replied in a soothing tone. “My dad would kill you for sure.” She then teased me, half smiling. “Just keep this as a secret between us, Simone. Promised me?” I asked her. She nodded. “I can’t risk to lose you now, Simone,” I told her as I grabbed her hands. “I’ve been wanting to ask you this, Marcus. Who is she?” she asked me curiously. I found my heart stopped beating for a while. I think she deserves to know the truth. She will found out about this secret sooner or later if we got married. And I don’t want her to know the truth from anybody else. “Charlotte…She is my mate.” I hesitantly said.
