CHAPTER 13 - The Art of Seduction

1587 Words
Simone POV   I ran out of the class as soon as I heard the bell ring. I couldn’t stand another minute being near him. During the class, he wouldn’t stop looking at my face or distracting me. Mr. James also seems to notice his special interest in me. He purposedly let him answer a hard question on the whiteboard since he wasn’t paying any attention to the class, but that smartass Alpha can answer it within a minute. I never thought that he was also good at school. I found myself admiring him a little more. So this is the meaning behind ‘having a good day,’ my dad said this morning. I was a fool to didn’t saw this coming. I should’ve known my dad and Marcus was up to something. No wonder he was unbelievably calm even after telling him that I want to call off the wedding. “Simone, wait!!” I heard Mandy shouts my name. I ignored her and kept walking, but she was able to catch my hand before I reached outside. “Simone, why are you running away from me?” she asked in a slightly annoyed tone. She was right. There is no reason for me to avoid her. Actually, I was avoiding Marcus. “Um….no reason. I’m starving.” I said as I pulled her into the cafeteria. I have to be quick before Marcus followed us here.  “Do you know Marcus?” Mandy suddenly said, causing me to spurt out the water from my mouth. I coughed a few times. “W-What makes you think I knew him?” I replied, stuttering. I already told her that I was engaged, but I never told her his name. I don’t know why I wanted to keep this a secret from her, since I saw him in the class today. “Because I saw the way he looked at you…” she said as she stabbed her fork into her salad, sounded a little bit disappointed. What now? My best friend would also hate me because he only showed interest in me? This is absurd. “Ok, listen. I’ve been waiting for a perfect time to tell you this. But, Marcus is my fiancée, and I just called off the wedding last week.” I said, whispering at her. “You did what? Simone, why didn’t you tell me earlier?” her reaction was as I expected it would be. “There’s something fishy about him moving into this school,” I told Mandy. She said something to me, but my attention went to the cashier area, where I saw him with the other two boys coming into the cafeteria. The other boy I recognized as his beta, Noah. But the other one I never saw before, I assume he was also from his pack. They were the new handsome trio that invades our school. I even saw a pack of girls pulling them into their table to had lunch together. I saw a girl being unbelievably closed to Marcus and fed him some of her french fries. The view is sickening to me and makes me wanted to throw up. That low female rogue, I could get rid of her in a second. I could imagine ripping her pretty face into half with my claw. Wait? Am I jealous now?     I saw him smirking back at me as he opened his mouth, welcoming the food and pretending to enjoy the affection from that lowly female. Is he a manwhore? I got up from my chair, “Mandy, I’m done here. Can we go now?” I asked with an angered tone. “Wait! I’m not finished…” she said, stuffing a piece of lettuce in her mouth. I didn’t wait for her to finished and making my way out first before her. As I walked, I almost can feel his gaze on my back. After that, the class was quite monotonous, but it was good because Marcus was not in my other class. We only had the same chemistry class. As I have my last English class today, I found myself spacing out at the unexpected incident this morning. After I saw him again, I just realized that I missed him. Is that even possible to miss someone that you hate so much? I was cursed by a moon goddess for meeting him, and he’s not even my mate. I looked outside the window, and my breath got hitched as I saw a few men playing basketball in the fields. My eyes were glued to one man in the red shirt. He was undoubtedly the most handsome man in my school right now. He played skillfully, leading the ball across the fields. Many women were cheering for him, shouting his name. I saw him kicking the ball, and it went to the goal. I found myself saying “yes!” and Mrs. Smith was staring at me. “Ms. Johnson. Would you mind reading the next paragraph?” s**t! I didn’t know which chapter where we at. I looked at Mandy, and she pointed out a chapter in her book, helping me. I smiled thankfully at her and started reading. As I read, my eyes went back to the soccer fields, and this time I saw him looking back at me. He took off his red T-shirt, and I couldn’t help myself from drolling over his body, look at those chiseled abs. He then threw me a knee-weakening smile and winked at me. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I stopped reading, and then I saw Mrs. Smith walked towards me. “Ms. Johnson, you can make yourself out and into the principal office now for not paying attention in the class.” She instructed. Oh no! She can’t do that, my dad would be mad at me. I never went into the principal office before. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Smith. Can you let me go this time? I promised I won’t do that again.” I pleaded. “Into the principal office now, Ms. Johnson.” She said in a final tone. I heaved a defeated sigh and made my way out of the English class. Stupid Marcus! I would make him pay for this later. I stood frozen in front of Mr. White’s office for a while. As I heard, he was not the friendliest principal that you could meet. I gulped down my fear and knocked a few times. “Come in…” I heard a man’s voice from inside. I opened the door, and my eyes went wide when I saw Marcus and Noah inside Mr. White’s office. “How can I help you, Ms. Johnson?” Mr. White’s stern voice is waking me up to my senses. “Umm…Mrs. Smith sent me here…” I said as I fiddled with the hem of my shirt nervously. I heard Noah chuckled at my reaction. Maybe this is the first time he saw me being scared. “What have you done this time?” Mr. White asked in a cynical tone. “Actually, I might know why Mrs. Smith sends her here,” Marcus said, interrupting. What could possibly this irritating man knew about? He wasn’t even in the class. “Mrs. Smith arranged for her to help me with the assignment for next week. I’m new here, so she assigns Ms. Johnson to be in the same group with me.” He then said. What complete nonsense. Not even a dumb person would buy that. “Is that so? Ms. Johnson?” Mr. White's words took me by surprise. Does he actually believe him? “If that’s the case. I would like to give you some credit and make sure I’ll tell your father, Alpha Alex, for your excellent behavior. I hope you both can make a great team.” He smiled proudly. “Thank you, Mr. White. Now, if you’ll excuse me. I would like to have a word with Marcus.” I requested. Mr. White nodded with an approving look, then Marcus followed me out from the room. “What are you doing back there in the principal office?” I asked him angrily. “I just saved your ass this time. You should be thanking me.” He said, shrugging his shoulder. “How did you even know she sent me here?” I asked curiously. I do want to hear his explanation. He burst out an amusement laugh. “I was the Alpha. I can hear anything. That wall is not that thick anyway.” He admitted cockily. Wow! Another thing that I just learned about him. And I have to say that I was impressed by him all over again. “Uugghh…You’re unbelievable!” I threw my English book at him and left him in the school hall alone. “Next time, I would rather appreciate you throw yourself at me rather than the book.” He screamed loud enough for me to hear. Then I heard his laughter filled the empty alley. This man needs some help!
