Marrying The Wrong Alpha

CHAPTER 5 - My Strong Luna

Marcus POV

Tonight I was supposed to get engaged to Alpha Alex’s daughter. He once came to my pack to discuss some “important” matters with my dad. I could pick up that he was worried about the last attack on his pack from their conversation, later he told us that he lost his wife during the attack. “What a terrible thing they did. We can’t let our guards down!” Dad said in response. Alpha Alex nods, my dad always asked me to came along with him whenever he had a meeting with another Alpha since he said that I would replace him after I got married later. So I have to learn how to deal with specific issues in the pack. Hell no, I never like the idea of being tied to someone for the rest of my life. I enjoyed my freedom.

Don’t get me wrong, I met my mate last year when I was 20. Her name is Charlotte. She was the beta female in our pack. I know it since the first time our eyes met, I felt the thrill and connection that only a mate could provide. But she was not the “alpha” female, I would be an Alpha, and I need a strong alpha female beside me. My mate hasn’t changed my mind about marriage life. If I could choose, I still prefer my freedom over her. I found myself lost in my own thought.

“My only hope is my daughter, Simone. She was the best fighter in our pack, she could easily beat her brothers like killing flies.” His words got my attention. “Well then, I guess there’s nothing to worry about here.” My dad replied to Alpha Alex’s words. “But she can’t be an Alpha. She was only a woman. I still remember how I lost my wife. Women are weak. I don’t want to repeat the old stories.” He said in a worried tone.

“I think you were overly cautious, Alpha Alex. It happened fourteen years ago. I’m not even sure they were still here until now.” My dad told him in a soothing manner. “Actually, I just saw Marcus trained just now. And I have to say I was impressed by your skill.” Alpha Alex suddenly turned his eyes at me. “Me?” I asked confusedly. “Yes, and I think you were the perfect candidate for my daughter.” He said. He looked back at my dad, “How if we just arranged for them to get married? We could become unbeatable.” He suddenly offered.

“I’m sorry, did I heard you right, Alpha Alex? You want me to marry your only daughter?” I asked him back in disbelief. My dad seemed to weigh the offer as he put the finger on his chin. “Yes, Marcus. Please come to my house next week on her 21st birthday. You can decide after you met her. I won’t force you to do this if you don’t like her.” He then continues his offer. It was actually a fair offer for me.

“Marcus would come next week.” Dad suddenly claimed. I give him a stare, but he stared back at me flatly. “It would be a pleasure to meet your daughter, Alpha Alex.” I finally said, accepting his offer. I wanted to meet this Alpha female and check her out by myself.

As the day came closer, I found myself getting excited and nervous to meet her. It took me a slightly longer time to prepare myself. I even brought a ring for her, in case I might propose to her. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled widely after I was satisfied with my look tonight. I looked as if I was dressed to kill—Noble and warrior-like.

As I make my entrance to their mansion, my eyes wandered around and stopped at one woman that sits beside Alpha Alex. It must be her! I guessed. She was the most ravishing woman I ever saw. I can sense a strong alpha aura radiating from her, but why her eyes hold some fear as I came closer? Do I scare her? Well, it’s a good start. I heard a gasp from another female as I walked. Just act cool, Marcus. I tried to compose myself in front of her, but my wolf can’t hold its urges to own her right away. I even called her ‘luna’. This woman is playing hard to get. Interesting… my wolf said.

She said that I have to fight her if I want to be her Alpha. If only this woman knew what I could do, she wouldn’t dare to challenge me. As the next Alpha, I was never lost in a battle. Not even my father could win against me. I smirked and then decided that I would play along with her. 

She stopped in the forest, and she took me by surprise again. She was fast, even fast enough to bite me. At that time, I knew that she’s the one for me. The Alpha female that I’ve been looking for. As we fight against each other, I suddenly got an idea. I won’t hurt her, but I have to win her heart. I jumped at her and straddled her body on the ground, under me. We were both shifted back in our human forms. I can’t deny that I was deeply attracted to her. As she complained about me being unfair, my attention wandered towards those full pouty lips that are begging to be kissed. Will she let me kiss her? I second-guessed my decision. But then I tricked her into receiving my kiss. Her lips are like ecstasy to me. It was amazing what she can do, even though she was not my mate.   

She was managed to pull away and slapped me. She slapped me like I just committed a sin towards her when all I did was giving her pleasure. I have to teach her some lesson. I don’t like being rejected, she ran away, but I was faster than her. I grabbed her body again and pressed her against the tree. I claimed her lips all over again, but she never responded. I was surprised when she admitted that she never kissed before. Maybe this is all fate that she was created only for me. Lust has soon taken over my body.

After the kiss, she was slowly acting differently towards me. She even let me hold her hands. I never let anyone touch me for this long. As we make our way back, we chat casually. Alpha Alex seemed satisfied as we came back holding each other’s hand. I don’t waste any more time, and I proposed to her right away. Maybe the moon goddess was on my side tonight. She even said yes.

As I go to sleep tonight, I couldn’t keep her face out of my mind. I was tossed and turned on my bed, unable to sleep because I was getting too excited—my strong luna. I finally found you.
