Aunt Jen

1130 Words
I could not believe my eyes. A fully grown wolf just morphed into a human being in front of me, and not just any human being, its Alpha Damien. ‘You are very weak, weaker than I thought.’ He didn’t bother to hide his irritation as he spoke. His breath fanned my cheeks and the heat radiating from his body reminded me that he was naked and on top of me. ‘Umm, please get up.’ He looked down between us and rolled his eyes as he stood up. I closed my eyes and turned away to make sure I didn’t see anything that would scar me. ‘Even nakedness scares you. You are more useless than I thought.’ With that, he walked off in the direction of the house. I wondered where the clothes he wore surfaced from. Before he was completely out of sight, he turned to me. ‘It’s Alpha Damien to you.’ With that, he disappeared behind the bushes. Emira was telling the truth, there are human beings that could turn to beasts, and I was supposedly mated to one. What else exists out there? I walked back quickly to the house, not wanting to see another monster. Was I really destined to marry a monster? I went to bed terrified by the thought. Morning came quicker than usual, and I was back to reality. I stood up from my bed to freshen up when a knock sounded on the door. ‘Come in.’ I answered and a young girl with her blonde hair in pigtails appeared with a cart full of many delicacies. ‘Beta Jakes asked me to bring your breakfast up since you decided to sleep in.’ She said in her sing-song voice. ‘Sleep in? What time is it?’ I don’t think I slept that long. ‘Quarter past noon.’ My eyes widened in surprise. I slept for over 12 hours. Well, it’s not like I had anything planned for the day. ‘Thank you for the breakfast.’ I thanked her and ushered her out of the room. There were all sorts of foods ranging from rice to chicken, fish, bacon, pancakes, and lots of fruit too. I decided to go with pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs. I had barely finished eating when my room door burst open. ‘Hey there sleepy head. Welcome back to the world.’ I rolled my eyes as I organized the dishes. ‘Good afternoon to you too Natalia.’ Natalia was very similar to Emira, so it was easy to be friends with her. Speaking of Emira, I hadn’t texted her when I got here. I was so busy getting to know my way around that I forgot to let her know that I had arrived safely. I picked up my phone to text her. ‘Rude much. Anyways, we are going to my favorite restaurant for lunch today. You get to be outside and meet more members of the pack.’ I wasn’t too excited about that idea. ‘Majority of them don’t like me.’ It was true. I could tell by the looks and the hostility I received yesterday. ‘Don’t say that. They just need time to adjust to their new situation, same as you.’ She explained and I understood her point, but I still didn’t want to go. ‘Nataliaaa……I….’ I was interrupted by a knock on the door. ‘Luna, the Alpha has requested your presence in his office.’ A guard came to inform me. I thought he was called the King. ‘That is outside pack territory. In here, he’s just our Alpha.’ My eyes widened when I realized I said that out loud. Natalia showed me where his office was, and we entered together. ‘Natalia, please excuse us.’ Alpha Damien said calmly. I looked from him to Natalia and caught her eye roll before she left. ‘Weak, useless, and a liar too? What more is there to you?’ My head snapped swiftly in his direction. If looks could kill, he’d be six feet under. ‘Excuse you.’ How dare he call me a liar? I had not told him a single lie since we met, so why would he call me a liar. ‘I clearly remember you told me you had no idea of the supernatural, hell, your acting was even very convincing. But did you think I would not find out? Do you think you can lie to the Alpha and get away with it?’ He was livid, but I could not understand the point of his accusations. ‘What did I lie about? I am Olive Rivera, I turned 21 yesterday, I lost my parents in a car crash when I was three and I have lived with my aunt Jen ever since. Aunt Jen travelled, and maybe if you had been patient enough, you could have met her and confirmed I was telling the truth before kidnapping me.’ I let my own anger peak through, I didn’t bother keeping my voice low. ‘How dare you raise your voice to your Alpha?’ He asked, going off topic to massage his bruised ego. ‘First off, you are not my Alpha, you are their Alpha. Second of all, you’re strong and useful right? I am sure you can tolerate a weak and useless human raising her voice at you. And lastly, what did I lie about? You can save both of us some time and brain cells by just going straight to the point, instead of making false accusations.’ The veins on his neck and forehead were popping and he stared at me dangerously. I didn’t back down and maintained eye contact with him. A glint of gold flashed in his eyes before he looked away and sat down behind his desk. ‘A woman came looking for you, says she’s your aunt.’ He was speaking calmly now. My heart leapt in joy upon hearing Aunt Jen was okay and she came looking for me. ‘How is she? Where is she? What did you tell her?’ I asked at once. I was feeling very emotional because a lot had happened in the last two days that has turned my life upside down, and Aunt Jen is just the person I need. But wait, how did she find me? Maybe Emira told her. But if Emira had talked to Aunt Jen, she would have told me. So, how did she know where to look? Let alone come to a werewolf pack? I dreaded the answer to that question. ‘Ho…how did she know where to find me?’ I asked with a panicked tone. The look on his face told me it was going to be an answer I would not like. ‘She’s a blood witch.’
