20. Aaron: what are you?

"So this is what you do, play with women's emotions then live like nothing happened? You are such an asshole you----"

"Mind your tongue!" Ivan said giving her death glares while I raised an eyebrow wondering why she was angry and calling me names.

'It's because she likes you, dummy, and is upset that you've found a woman,' Knox scoffed in my head.

"But still that doesn't give her a loophole to insult me," I replied to Knox, clenching my fists.

Just because we were once friends doesn't give her the right to be too comfortable and disrespect me!

"Don't even try to defend him Ivan. He's nothing but an asshole and I wish he rots in hell for what he's done!"

"But what have I done?" I asked in monotone, trying as hard as I can to suppress the anger that was building up inside of me.

" You even have the audacity to ask after playing with her emotions?!" Victoria scoffed glaring at me.

"When did I do that?" I raised an eyebrow looking Victoria who scoffed again saying,

" Oh, you are now playing dumb after repeatedly sleeping with her and using her?"

"Wait, when did I sleep with her??" I asked looking at Elizabeth who just sobbed Standing infront of me and fisting my shirt.

"So you are just going to deny everything? All those night we spent together, you are just going to throw it all away for her!! How could you?! You are such an asshole I hate you!!" She cried out hitting my chest,

I wanted to push her off and even put her in her place for insulting and hitting me but decided against it, she was a human and it was against the law to lay a finger on a human.

" f**k the law, she's accusing you of touching her when you did no such thing? Give me control and I will put her in her place for trying to defame us,"

"Not yet," I said to Knox who scoffed in my head saying,

"Not yet? What are you going to do if She ends up telling things like this to mate? Mate will be upset with us and maybe even leave us thinking that we lied!"

"That won't happen, trust me," I assured him fixing my eyes on Elizabeth who kept hitting me.

"You are the worst Human to walk on the earth! You are a----"

"Okay enough now!" Ivan cut her off, coming to my rescue.

He removed her hands off me and she stumbled backwards. Victoria holding her.

"Don't try to pin it on him when you very well know that this is on you. You knew from the start what he was and yet you still went and fell in love.

And all these curses, they won't affect him even the slightest bit because we both know that he's innocent and his conscious is pure, Stop blaming him for your own self inflicted wounds!!"

"You are defending him?" Victoria asked, shaking her head in disappointed while holding a still crying Elizabeth.

"Of course I'm going to defend him!" Ivan answered, "He's like a brother to me and I won't sit by and watch you insult him. William and I told you from the very beginning but you didn't listen and about s*x? I know for a fact that Aaron never touched her not even once so get your facts straight and stop showering curses on an innocent man. Let's go guys," Ivan said leading the way.

I looked at Elizabeth and didn't feel even the slightest bit of sorry for her,

I would have felt sorry if she didn't insult hit and even accuse me of touching her.

"Let's go Aaron," Vanessa said holding my arm.

I nodded my head both of us following after Ivan but---

"Mark my words Aaron, I will kill you," Elizabeth threatened and both Vanessa and I stopped walking, turning around and looking at her,

"I will start with Vanessa, I will put a bullet in her head and then----" she paused and laughed like a maniac adding, "that dumb malnourished b***h in your house. What's her name again? Ah, Brooke, right?"

A growl escaped my lips at the mention of Brooke and Knox came on the surface sharing control with me.

"Let's kill her," he suggested with a growl.

I was about to go to her but Vanessa tightly held my arm saying,

"She's not worth it, let's just go,"

"You think I don't know," Elizabeth laughed, "I know you care about her and I will make sure I kill her in cold blood or my name isn't ---"

"That's it!" Knox growled in my head taking over my body and in the blink of an eye, my hand was wrapped around Elizabeth's throat chocking her.

"DARE SAY THAT AGAIN AND I WILL SEND YOU TO YOUR ANCESTORS!" Knox growled squeezing her neck.

She chocked out, hitting on my arm but Knox was out for blood and so was I.

I would have gladly taken control back from Knox if she marely insulted me but threatening to kill my mate? That can't go unpunished.

No one is allowed to take Brooke away from me, not even this f*****g Human!

"Aaron, let go, you will kill her," I heard Ivan say but I tuned him off sharing control with Knox my eyes blinded with rage.

Elizabeth needed to die. She needed to die! There is no way I was going to let her breath for another second after threatening to kill my mate!

Even if her threats were empty I'm still not going to let her breath for another second! She needs to die!!

"And I will find pleasure in killing her slowly and painfully," Knox said agreeing with me.

"Aaron, snap out of it, let go of her! People are watching," Ivan said again trying to remove my hand off her but his efforts were in vain.

"Do something Ivan, he's going to kill her," I heard Vanessa say and I smirked, putting even more pressure ready to snap Elizabeth's neck in half until---

"Brooke! Drake let go of her right now!!" Ivan yelled looking behind him.

All the anger I was feeling towards Elizabeth completely dissapeared and replaced by pure fear.

I felt a cold chill run down my spine as the thought of Drake getting his hands on Brooke crossed my mind.

Without a second thought, I let go of Elizabeth and looked behind Ivan ready to kill Drake for touching Brooke but nothing.

Brook was nowhere to be seen and neither was Drake. Only a few people that had come to watch the commotion where there, looking at me with what I can only assume as fear in their eyes.

"She's not here," Ivan said, and I looked at him as he continued, "I only said that to snap you back into reality.

You almost killed and---" he step closer to me whispering, "exposed us infront of all these people. As a beta you should know better,"

I just scoffed, Knox retreating back and I looked at Elizabeth who was loudly coughing on the floor while holding her neck, Victoria next to her, trying to help her stand up.

I knelt besides her and she flinched about to scoot away from me but I tightly held her jaw saying,

"Dare utter a word against Brooke or even show up at my apartment and I will finish what I just started,"

"What what are you?" Victoria asked looking at me fear in her eyes.

"I'm a friend, but dare cross my path again and I will be your biggest nightmare, I will hunt you both down and kill you slowly and painfully," I growled low enough for only her and Elizabeth to hear.

I stood up and after one last glance walked off, both Ivan and Vanessa following behind me.

"You almost killed her!" Ivan said as soon as he and Vanessa caught up to me.

"What were you thinking? Do you know the amount of trouble you could have been in for hurting a human! As a royal you should know better----"

"She threatened to kill Brooke!" I said coming to a stop and looking at him, "did you expect me to just stand there and laugh while she threatened to kill my woman?!" I asked looking him dead in the eyes.

"I did what I had to do and I don't care if I get in trouble but no one gets away with threatening my mate not even a human! I will f*****g burn and kill any creature that dares lay a finger on Brooke got it!" I declared with a growl, my eyes still fixed on him.

Ivan sighed running his hands in his hair then calmly said,

"Okay I understand but just calm down, Elizabeth can't do anything to harm Brooke. It was just empty threats, right Vanessa?"

I looked at Vanessa who was staring at me with wide open eyes.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked with a raise eyebrow

"your eyes ---- they changed color. You you are not a human are you?" She asked stepping close to me and looking into my eyes.

"No, my eyes didn't change color," I denied it but she shook her head saying,

"I saw it, don't try to gaslight me! Of course, this makes sense now. I thought the fight for Brooke in the car park was because you and that other guy were both cult leaders and wanted Brooke to be your queen but that's not the case, is it? You, Ivan Brooke and that guy from the car park, you are all not humans! This explains how Brooke was able to heal fast despite being badly injured last night,"

"Brooke wasn't injured last night," Ivan tried to say but Vanessa quickly shook her head saying,

"No I know it's her, I've been suspecting this since we went shopping and I saw the bandage and the scars on her, and the fight in the parking lot. I was wondering how she got healed quickly but now, after seeing what I just saw, it now confirms the fact that she's the injured girl and you guys are not humans,"

"Vanessa you are thinking too much about this," I said with a sigh, "Brooke isn't the girl from last night and we are very much humans,"

" That's what a non human would say. And if Brooke isn't her, then where is she? Where is the injured girl?"

"She's ----" I wanted to say hospital but knew very well that if I said that, she would tell me to take her there.

Fuck, now I'm stuck.

I looked at Ivan and he was already looking at me.

" See, I knew it! I knew Brooke was the injured girl and you guys are not humans!"

"Keep your voice down," Ivan said placing his hand on her mouth as people who were passing by looked at us.

"Okay sorry sorry," Vanessa whispered once Ivan removed his hand..

"So what are you guys? Are you like vampires?" She excitedly asked looking between me and Ivan.

"Gross don't compare us to those blood sucking leeches," Ivan answered shuddering in disgust.

"If you are not vampires then, what are you?!"

Not wanting to start explaining about supernatural creatures to her, I turned on my heels and went straight into SENTIMENTS BRIDE, a store that was full of all types of flowers and accessories.
