Belle's POV
"So how young is your dad? You said he's still quite young." I asked while Jess sat at the dressing table.
"He's just forty, see, very young." She replied casually.
"Why are you asking though? Ohhh… you like him!" She exclaimed while I quickly sat up.
"Of course not… like your dad? What? No!" I quickly replied while wondering if I was that obvious.
"Chill… I'm just pulling your legs. You can't be with him, my mom would literally kill you." She retorted and then started laughing as if she didn't just say something serious.
"What? Your mom? I've never heard you talk about her." I retorted.
"That's because we're not on good terms. She cheated on my dad with his best friend, and since they separated, she keeps sabotaging his relationships." Jess explained. For some unknown reasons, I felt sad and it took me some minutes to realize I was overreaching. Jeff would never date me, I'm too young for him and also his daughter's best friend. I don't have to be scared of Jess' mom, I never stood a chance with Jeff in the first place.
"C'mon get dressed, let's go have fun at Dad's club." She said as she got up.
"What's on your mind? Don't tell me you're still brooding over Matt?" Jess asked with a raised brow.
"Nothing. Just thinking about what you said about reaching out to my crush." I answered.
"Yes girl, now you're talking. Get that man and get laid." She said excitedly.
"But he's way older than me. I'm sure I'm his son or daughter's age." I chimed in while she smirked.
"Oh please, older men do it better. They're experienced, they know what you want, and are never stingy in giving it to you to satisfaction." Jess said emphatically which made me look at her differently.
"You seem to know much about this, are you talking from experience?" I asked playfully, thinking she was only talking based on her web knowledge. I was surprised when she started blushing. She wasn't bluffing, she really was experienced.
"Well, nothing much. It was a one-time thing…"
"A nightstand?" I exclaimed with a gasp and my eyes got so big like saucers.
"Chill…" she said with a laugh
"Yes, it was a one-night stand but the best s*x I've had my whole life. Just a night with your man crush and you'd realize that whatever you have with Matt is all child's play." Jess said with much satisfaction.
All through the drive to the club, I kept thinking about what Jess told me at home. My thirst for her dad tripled after that conversation and all I can think of now is his hands working all over my body. I wanted to have the experience too, and with no one else but Jeffrey.
We got to the club soon and Jess introduced me to her friends. Drinks were brought to our table but since I don't drink, I settled for water.
I slowly looked around while sipping my water, and finally saw the person I was looking for. Jeff was on the second floor looking around too. I saw his head turn in my direction but before I could look away, we locked eyes. He smiled and I shyly looked away again. After some seconds, I looked again, he was still staring. He smiled and this time, I stared too. For about five seconds, our eyes were locked and my whole body could bear witness that I yearned for this man, especially down there.
Just then, a girl came over to him, finally drawing his attention from me. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and buried her lips in his, kissing him passionately. I wasn't expecting it and it totally caught me off guard. I slowly moved my gaze from them and my smile was gone.
"You have no right to be jealous. You're not his woman." I cautioned myself.
But then, I saw their tongues entangled, and lips moulded. Her breasts pressed flatly against his chest, and he didn't even bother to move away despite being in public.
I immediately felt nauseous, and an unknown pain started growing in my heart, causing me to choke on my water, and gasping for breath.
"Take it easy Belle." Jess quickly said while she caressed my back gently.
"I think you should slow down on the water for now. And why are you just quiet, aren't you having fun?" She asked with concern.
"I am, but yeah, I need to slow down." I chimed in.
"You've had enough to fill a small pool." She said with sarcasm and we laughed.
"Want to dance?" One of the guys asked.
"Yes please," Jess replied before I could even refuse.
The guy extended his hand and though I didn't want to, I had no choice. Jeff was still making out with the girl and I just needed a distraction to get my mind off him.
"I hope you have no expectations cause I'm a terrible dancer," I said.
"Well, that makes two of us then. I can't dance to save my life." He said and we both laughed.
"So you're Belle, I'm surprised you're Jessica's best friend." He said as we vibed to the fast beat.
"Surprised? Why?" I asked.
"You both have nothing in common. You seem so reserved and she is the exact opposite of that. Plus you're so beautiful." He said and I chuckled.
"And she's not?" I asked.
"What? Jess is so pretty but you're mesmerizing." He quickly cleared, making me blush again.
"Is that a compliment?" I chipped in, trying not to seem impressed.
"It's a fact." He said firmly while he grabbed me and spun me around just in time to see Jeff being pulled away by the girl. My mood became weak immediately and I got uninterested in the dance. The thought of what they were going to do weakened me even more.
"I'm tired, I've had enough," I said.
"Already? it hasn't even been five minutes." He exclaimed but I couldn't care less and started going back to the table.
"Hey hey, what's the matter? Did I say something?" He quickly pulled me back and asked while I gently pulled off his hand.
"Luke, I know what you want and I'm sorry but you're not getting that from me. So stop trying to be all sweet with me, it's not going to work." I said and then turned to leave but he pulled me back again.
Luke was so sweet as he explained he was only interested in being friends and nothing more. If I didn't know better, I would have fallen for his words however, Matt said more sweeter words and still betrayed me. Luke would have to do better if he wanted a chance.
"I'm going home," I said tiredly and he offered to give me a ride home.
I didn't agree until he promised not to bug me with talks during the ride. We said goodbye to Jess and left.
After about twenty minutes of complete silence, I got tired and broke the silence.
"So you really don't break your promise." I quizzed while he smiled and affirmed with a nod.
"That's wild and also nice. I'm impressed." I replied and he smiled again.
"Well, I wasn't always like this, I mean, keeping to my words. But I broke a promise once and it didn't end well. I was naive and young, and I lost her because of that. Since then, I made up my mind not to ever break another promise." Luke explained, and for the first time that night, I could finally see him. He wasn't anything like Matt, I saw genuine remorse in his eyes, something that's not in Matt's dictionary.
"Did you ever get a chance to make things right?" I gently asked.
"Let's talk about that next time." He cleverly chimed in.
"Is that your way of asking me out?" I asked while he chuckled and pulled in front of the house.
"Hold that thought." He quickly hopped down and circled to my side to open the door.
"You're trying too hard," I said with a blush. He didn't say a word and only took my phone, which he slid back a few seconds later with his number saved.
"Have a great night Belle!" He insisted on waiting till I was in before he left, making me blush again.
I didn't look back till I entered the house. I checked through the window and he was still waiting, he blew me a kiss, got into the car, and then zoomed off.
Just then, I got a text message from Matt, making five just this night. We haven't talked since I caught him a week ago and I'm wondering why the sudden rampage. His call came in and I couldn't resist seeing his handsome face light up my screen.
"Why are you disturbing me, Matt? I thought we broke up." I fired angrily.
"Babe, I'm sorry…" Immediately I heard his voice, and a cold shiver ran through my insides, I could feel my anger melting away but I had to be strong.
"No, Matt! No!! You don't get to do this to me again. I'm not taking your bullshit anymore, I've had enough. We're done!" I yelled angrily again.
"Belle, I love you. I can't imagine life without you, I'm sorry I hurt you but you're the one I love, you have to believe me." He pleaded in his usual s*xy baritone voice, which always gets me. I was almost foolishly falling till I remembered his previous pointless pleas and I got angry again.
"I'm breaking up with you Matt, and that's it, deal with it!" I yelled and then hung up immediately
