In dungeon I was quietly seated against the wall, crying and cursing my fate for it being so worst.
‘I am so unlucky, no one wants me nobody loves me’ I whispered to myself, before I found out about Daniel's truth, I always believed that he would be my savior and I will spend rest of life with him being loved and cherished.
‘What a fool I was’ I laughed bitterly.
‘Zoe' while I was on mission of cursing myself and my poor luck, I heard the voice of mom.
‘Mom?’ I stood abruptly running towards the grill.
‘I am so sorry my love that mom fails to protect you’ her face was wet with tears and her eyes has turned red, telling about how much she has been crying.
‘No mom, don’t do this.’ She wiped her face and took mine in her palms.
‘You are such a beautiful daughter of mine. I was so happy when I found you that finally I will have the child but I couldn’t become the good mother. Not this time’ she sniffed, I wanted to console her but her last sentence confused me.
She fetched the key from the inside of her gown and unlocked the door, taking me out of this place. I was following her quietly because she was serious and around me she rarely gets that serious.
‘Listen Zoe, I have asked my trustable man to make the way open for you to sneak out’ my mouth opened in shock.
‘No mom, I will not leave you alone behind to suffer’ I shook my head but she holds me by shoulders and looked in to my eyes.
‘Don’t worry about me. I know how I have to deal with John. But you have to go back to New York, start your new life and live it the way you want.’ She pushed me away after saying this.
‘Madam!’ I turned at the voice.
‘He will take you out of the pack safely’ I cried.
‘Mom’ she wiped my tears.
‘Live happy life okay. Mom will be happy to hear good news about you’ I glanced at her soft and weak face for last time before following her trusted man.
‘You can use this way, at the end you will enter in to the city and from their you can find your way. Luna had instructed to hand over this bag to you’ after walking for an hour, he stopped in front of a tunnel and guided me for ahead. With shaking hand, I hold the bag which had enough money that I can spend a month if do not find any job. She made sure that I had food as well.
‘Tell mom, I will come back for her she must take care of her for me’ he nodded and I walked through the tunnel, not glancing back. While I was walking alone on the dark roads, my phone starts ringing, I frowned at a strange number, however I answered.
‘Zoe speaking?’ there was a man on other side of the call.
‘Yes?’ I was feared though, what if my adoptive father had found out.
‘Thanks goodness. We finally found you.’ Confused I was quite.
‘I am your biological brother, let me know of your location and we will come to pick you up’ I was furious after listening to him, but didn’t react abruptly. I needed a place to stay and plan for my next step. I should use this opportunity for a while.
Telling him about my location, I was asked to wait for half an hour and someone will reach to pick me.
As time passed I had so many questions erupting in my mind for my family. While I was roaming on this deserted place alone, I saw a jet making its way towards the land.
‘Please get in. We have been sent by your brother’ the noise of its wings was so loud if it wouldn’t be my wolf hearing I wouldn’t have heard a single word he said.
I hopped on the jet, surprised by its size. Even my adopted father had nothing bigger like that, wondering who is my actually family. While the Jet was set on his way I broke my connection with Redwood pack.
After the journey of couple of hours, we landed on the roof of the luxurious villa, that was illuminated with spot lights coming from every corner. The more I was getting near to the villa, the more anxious I was becoming.
‘Don’t worry Zoe, we are safe here’ my wolf assured me that we both will be fine now, besides, staying in New York as a student, I have been trained very well to keep my wolf hidden so I am sure, I will keep her identity unknown until she is prepared to show off.
When I was asked to enter through the door, I gulped, an anxiety of facing new people who are supposed to be my original family and by now I have understood that my biological family is not something with whom one can mess easily, and a part of this I was concerned about their reaction towards me.
As I entered, I found a simple yet elegant woman seated on the single couch, her eyes were fixed on the door as if she was waiting for it to open.
‘Zoe’ she stood from her place and walked towards me, engulfing me in her warmth. I inhaled her smell and she smelt like a mother but I should confirm.
‘Who are you?’ I asked her, but found a frown on her face. Did I offend her?
‘Why are your cheeks red? Did anyone slap you?’ she asked me and I was at loss of words. I don’t know anything about them nor I can trust on them. I haven’t met with my family yet.
‘Your clothes are torn’ she commented, I stretched my shirt trying to hide the tear, it was embarrassing.
‘We are going to mall. You need to buy things for you, we will have breakfast over there and then we will comeback, meanwhile, whole family will be aware of your presence so they will be home by the time.’ She was not giving me the chance to talk and after a few minutes I was in the car, heading towards the mall.
I was still not aware of who she was and what is my relation with her but looks like they not like to answer the questions of others. I quietly watched the car to run on the roads of New York. It was feeling good to be back in the city.
The car parked against the entrance of the mall, we both left the car and I was waiting for her to enter so I shall follow her, as I have never been to this mall. It was extremely expensive and only niche people can afford the shopping here.
‘Honey, you go inside. I am coming after taking this call’ while we were walking, she received the call and she ushered me to enter, not to behave like a fool and stupid. I collected the courage and walked towards the glass door, however, before I could have entered the guard stood in between stopping me on the way.
I raised my head and looked at him questioningly.
‘I cannot allow you to enter’ He refused me bringing creases on my forehead.
‘And why?’ I crossed my hand over my chest.
‘This place is not for a people like you. Please go away, you will make our customer uncomfortable’ he scolded me. My cheeks start to burn at the insult.
‘When did beggars start to shop here?’ I heard the female voice behind me, the mockery in her voice and made me quiet, I was ashamed to be here at this moment.
