“Is everything okay, Dad?” I ask while sitting beside my brother on the black couch in Dad’s office.
Mom is sitting with Dad on the loveseat in front of Seb and me. I don’t think I’ve ever been more curious about anything in my life than I am right now. Mom and Dad look like they’re hiding something from my brother and me. Plus, something feels different.
“First of all, your mom and I want to apologize, Aurora.”
“For what?”
“The past few days, I’ve come to realize that I’m too hard on you, Aurora.”
