Chapter 7

Hecta opened her eyes half expecting Marcus to still be there, but he wasn’t. Getting out of bed, she headed out to see where he was, or if he was even there. She wasn’t sure what was going on, but there was a small gathering of demons near the fire. “What is going on in here?” she said walking to the room, everyone turned to face her. “Ah you’re awake.” Marcus said coming out of the crowd. “You said you wanted some back up and we got it for you.” He said moving out of the way so Hecta could see Daniel was working with him just fine. “We wanted to make sure they were ready for when you are.” He said putting his hand around her. “They are just small demons; most don’t even speak so I don’t know all of their names. Nor care to.” “So are they ready to go, or are you still talking them into it?” she said looking at him, hoping he would say they were ready and they could go. She really wanted to see this new realm. “So are you taking me with you?” Victor said appearing a few feet away. “Or you going to make me stay here like a small child.” He said folding his arms across his chest. “You’re staying here, we have enough.” Marcus said before Hecta could say anything. “This is a real test to see if you can make it at my house, if my house is trashed when we get back, I know you failed.” He said shaking his head at Victor. “Fine, when you need more let me know.” He said plotting himself in a chair. ‘I’ll just hang here by the fire and watch all of you die, and then I’ll see Hecta when she has to come back here alone, because everyone died.” He said closing his eyes. Everyone ignored what Victor said. He was mad he couldn’t go with them, but Marcus rather him not go. He was too risky, and he didn’t seem like he would take a death over watching Hecta die. Marcus didn’t want to take that chance. He wanted this to go as smooth as possible. “I think we’re ready Hecta if you are.” Marcus said looking at the demons standing nearby. “Soon I need to have my punch.” She said walking away from the group, Victor followed her, and he wanted to talk to her about her plans. He felt like Marcus was setting her up to fail, and he didn’t want that to happen. “Hecta I need to talk to you.” He said following her into the kitchen. “I don’t think Marcus has thought all of this out, I think you’re making a big mistake taking him and not me.” He said shaking his head. “Well like I told you before he was the one that woke me out of my sleep, where were you?” she said looking at him. “Oh that’s right you were nowhere to be found, and when I finally came, you found me.” She said pulling the punch out of the fridge. “You are staying here and that is final, if you try and come with us I will kill you.” “Fine I will stay out of your way for now, once Marcus dies I will take his place.” He said walking towards the door. “I hope you can accept that because that is what is going to happen, he is going to die.” “I guess it’s something I’m going to have to live with or not right?” she said turning her back to him. She was getting tired of him, she wanted him gone, but she wanted to have reason to kill him, right now she wanted to save all her magic just in case she’d need it against the Angel if they found out she was going to take over the vampire world. Marcus walked into the kitchen, “Is Victor giving you issues do you want me to take care of him?” he said touching Hecta. “In time you will, but right now we need all the demons we can get.” She said taking a drink. “I had to make a point with Drake, he was making too many friends, and that was going to cause a lot of issues.” She said shaking her head. “You do understand why I did kill him right?” “Of course.” He said shaking his head. “I wanted to kill him years ago, but I wanted him to be around to meet you, I told him all about you, he never believed in you. That is the only reason I kept him around, I wanted to prove him wrong.” “Well you did, and now he is gone. We can make new demons, we can get the recruits, and this time we’re going to win against Heaven. They aren’t going to want to kill Anabel’s body, and in order to rid of me, you have to do just that.” She said laughing at the whole thing. She couldn’t wait to come face to face with Michael; she would torture him before she finally would rip off his wings. “Shall we join our guests?” he said motioning for her to walk to the door. “I mean they are all here for you, this is the next step to taking back our world, taking back our legions.” He half smiled. “Yes, and Yes.” She said shaking her head. “I think I’m ready to go and see what that realm has to offer, we should take Victor, but I really don’t want him messing things up.” She said shaking her head. “Well we could take him, and if he gets out of line you can kill them in front of the vampires to show them you are boss, and you are not one to mess with.” He said shrugging his shoulders. “Perhaps.” She said putting her hand on her face. “Fine bring Victor, but he gets out of hand we will kill him understand?” she said waiting for him to respond. “Of course.” He said putting his arm around here. “Let’s go and talk with the other demons, they need to know what you are planning, and what you would like them to do. We will go over their powers if you want, and you can decide if you want them to come up to the Council room with us, or to stay outside and watch for people coming for us.” “That might be a good idea.” She said looking at him. “You see that is the reason you are going to be the General, I need someone that cares about me like you do, but will also make sure things happen the way they are supposed to.” Marcus lead Hecta to her chair, Victor sat in the other one; he didn’t say anything when Marcus looked at him for a second before he spoke. “Everyone this is Hecta, the Goddess I told you that was back.” He said clearing his throat. Everyone looked at her; they smiled when they saw she was truly Hecta.  “We have a new realm we’re going to, we need to make sure she is protected at all time, I don’t care what you’ve heard, and what you feel you know. You are to do what I ask, if you don’t and you put her life in danger, you will be answering to me, and your fate will be death. I will not put up with weaklings, if you are weak you will have to stay here with Victor.” He said looking at Victor.
