Chapter 8

Victor didn’t wait; he lunged at Marcus throwing him to the ground. The two struggled each getting a couple of good shots in before Hecta got to her feet and pulled them apart. She threw them both into walls. “Enough!” she growled. “Fighting among your own stops now, if you cannot do it then get out of my lair!” she said looking at all the stunned face. “I don’t have time for weakness; I do not have time for kiddie games. We are on the verge of making a war again, we need strong warriors, people that will fight.” She said looking at Victor and then at Marcus. “You two better get your issues straight before I take care of the issue.” She said bring her attention back to the group of demons. “Magical demons you need to stay outside and use magic to keep the vampires at bay if we come across things like that. Those that have strength you are coming with us to meet with the Council, they need to see I have muscle and I’m not afraid to die.” She said shaking her head. “Now if you know your places, I’m sure Marcus has given you the coordinates to the realm, meet there but do not attack anyone!” The demons shook their head, no one spoke. Hecta and Marcus talked to them about some of the details, but nothing was that important. She just wanted to make sure people didn’t get killed unless it was needed, she really wanted to have an alliance with the vampires, and they would do well against the Angels. Marcus summoned the portal; they waited until everyone else was through before Marcus stopped in front of Hecta. “I’ll see you in a minute.” He said kissing her and walking through the portal. Hecta followed Marcus through the portal, she couldn’t wait to see what this realm offered, she wanted to make changes in a lot of ways, she wanted to find a place where they Angels wouldn’t come to find them, and she would play their next war if she had enough time. She would plan the deaths of Michael, Gabriel, and Samuel. Looking around the new realm, it was nice. It was dark and warm, she almost felt like she was back where Anabel lived. “So far I don’t mind this place.” She said looking at Marcus. Marcus directed Victor and Daniel; he wanted to make sure Hecta was protected if the vampires wanted to attack her. A man in a dark coat walked closer to Marcus. “The Council wants to see you, and her.” He said looking at Hecta. “Now.” “Fine.” Marcus said putting his arm around Hecta. “Relax this is normal.” He said looking at her. They followed the man into a building and up some stairs. “Sit there.” He said pointing to two chairs that sat near in the waiting room. “They will call you back when they are ready for you.” He said shaking his head. “Don’t move, there are guards outside.” “I feel like I’m in a Doctor’s office.” Hecta complained. “I’ve waited too long to wait any longer.” She said getting to her feet, “Either you go and get them now, or we’re done and we’re going to do what we want.” She growled to the man. “You do realize things aren’t going to go your way, this is our realm. You are coming here asking for our help remember?” he said shaking his head. “Yes and you should be kind enough to make sure the Council is waiting for us, not the other way around.” She said taking a step towards him, she grabbed him and pulled out his spine, he crumbled to ash. Marcus stood up. “Impressive, you still got it.” He said kissing her. “Well you know me, I don’t like to wait.” She said shaking her head. The door opened a small blonde woman stood. “The Council will see you now.” She said opening the door wide enough so Marcus and Hecta could walk through together. Hecta looked around the office was big, but there were not desks not chairs it was a book full of books but not much of anything else. “Well this has to change.” She said looking around again. “I want this realm full of different things; I want to see things change.” “Don’t worry things will change for the better for us?” Marcus said squeezing her hand. “I just hope this part doesn’t go to shit.” He said looking at Victor. “Don’t worry Marcus this won’t go to s**t if you can control yourself.” Victor snapped back. “I’m not evens sure this is going to work, and it isn’t some kind of trap set by the Angels, I know they can do things like that.” “Shut up Victor.” Hecta growled. “The Angels don’t even know what we’re up to, well unless someone opens their big mouth like Drake did, who knows.” She said shaking her head. “Ah welcome Hecta!” a man in a black robe walked into the room. “The rumor was true, welcome home!” he said kissing her on the cheek. “David.” Hecta said looking at Marcus. “I thought they killed you years ago?” she said shaking her head. “You do look good for your age.” “Thank.” He said walking away from her. “Why don’t you all follow me, I am sure we have a better place we can talk and everyone can sit down.” He said motioning for them to follow him into the hallway. Hecta lead the way, she followed David closely, she wasn’t sure if he was being nice, of if he was happy to see her. She kept her guard up just in case; she wanted to see what he was planning. “So how have you been?” David asked looking back at her. “I know the last time I saw you things weren’t going very good for you.” He said shaking his head. “I’ve had better days, but I have a feeling we’re going to make it through whatever those Angels want to put us through. I have a better plan this time, I also have a stronger body that seems to be taking to the curse rather well.” She said looking at Marcus. “Marcus was the one that made this happen.” “I see.” He said turning into a smaller room. “I think we can talk here.” He said motioning for them to come into the room so he could close the door. “So you brought extra security, do you not trust me?” he said looking at Hecta. “Oh I trust you, but I know you don’t trust me.” She said looking at Marcus. “I had to kill one of your pets, he wasn’t being very friendly.” She said shaking her head. “Yes I know, remember I know everything. I feel when my children die.” He said looking away from her. “I know you only kill those that do something to you, so I will allow that one to slide. So what do you want with my realm?” he said looking at the entire group. “We need a place we can hide and build an army without the Angels knowing what our plans are. I know they don’t like coming here because then they have to hunt for your kind.” She said looking at David. “I would like to ask you for help, if you want we can even come to some kind of agreement on land?” “Land?” he said shaking his head. “You want me to let you have land, let you have my realm really Hecta what are you really after?” he said looking down at some papers on his desk. “I have a feeling there is something you’re not telling me, I don’t want to know.” He said closing his eyes. “You have free run here, you even will have a house on the hill.” He said looking at her. “I don’t want to hear of demons killing off my vampires, if that happens I will revoke your stay here and then we’ll have issues.” “I don’t think that is going to be a problem.” Victor said before Hecta could, she looked at him with her glaring eyes. “We will make our stay quiet here like I’ve told you before, I just want to clear some things up, and we have rights here, so that means there shouldn’t be any issues with your people right?”  David looked at Victor. “There won’t be any problems unless you guys start it first. We are peaceful people here, we do not want bloodshed, I haven’t lost a soul in centuries, and Hecta broke my new record.”
