A whole week went by, and Jase still didn't seem to even consider transforming into his wolf form and going back to the wilderness. I didn't mind it at all, of course. Jase was good company, caring, very attentive, made delicious coffee, and even though he didn't understand many words, he could still read the tone of my voice, my expressions, and my gestures. He knew when I didn't want to be disturbed and when he could cuddle up to me on the couch and cherish the time of our closeness. Jase seemed to demand physical contact, and I really wasn't going to say 'no' to him. I loved touching him almost as much as he loved scenting my shoulder or my neck and just breathing in my scent. When Jase was in his human form, I also noticed that he still preferred sleeping curled up in his place in front of the fireplace as a wolf. Not that I minded… It was a really endearing sight, but sometimes when a wave of lust and desire coming from Jase hit me, I really didn't understand why it was different at night. Despite the desire radiating from Jase, he never tried anything similar to the one time in the kitchen when I had seen him in his human form for the second time. The only action we got was Jase sprawled over my body on the couch, kissing and caressing my neck, and me letting my hands wander over Jase's flawless body. I would have appreciated something more… but I knew there was a reason Jase didn't ask for it. While I was reflecting on this in front of my laptop, I realized how Jase had managed to carve a space inside my heart in such a short amount of time, making me long for him more and more. It wasn't just passion or lust… it was something profound and frightening… yet wonderful. I sighed. There was still work I wanted to do, but it wasn't easy to concentrate with all those thoughts swirling in my head and not to mention all those emotions I had to deal with. And then… Suddenly, a huff of warm breath tickled my sensitive neck, and two strong arms folded around my waist. "Beth…" A quiet, deep voice made me shiver. "Jase," I whispered, turning to the man and waiting for the brush of hot lips so that I could turn the hesitant gesture into a passionate one. "You want me, right?" I asked when our mouths separated after a teeth-clashing and ravenous kiss. Jase whined as if he was in pain and hid his face in the crook of my neck precisely in the place where the scar after his bite was forming. As I already knew, it was his favorite place. An impressive hard-on was pressing against my hip. I swallowed as I tried to imagine it… imagine all the things I could do with it… Oh, whoa, I'm becoming a pervert. But can you really blame me? "Why can't you have me, Jase?" I asked tiredly. "Why can't you have me when you know I want you, too? What's holding you back?" A puppy-like whine was his only reaction. Jase was shivering all over, but he never tried to release the tension building in his groin by doing exactly what he wanted to. "Take me, Jase, you can have your way with me," I whispered and turned my head a bit to press a kiss in his hair. I still didn't understand why I was talking to Jase when I KNEW Jase didn't quite understand words, but my foolish self still hoped that he would get the meaning anyway. The shiver of Jase's body was getting more insistent. He whined again with unfulfilled desire and frustration clear written all over. I couldn't take it anymore. "Jase," I said quietly, grabbing his jaw before I kissed him greedily in order to make a point of what I wanted. Jase returned the kiss eagerly, but I could still feel him holding himself back. "No, Jase. Don't fight it. You can let go." I said, tugging on his t-shirt, making clear what I wanted. Jase stiffened and looked right into my eyes. A deep sigh escaped his lips, and he shivered again, closing his eyes. His head fell backward, and I could see his chest was heaving in tandem with his breathing. Before I could prevent him from his next move, Jase lifted his hand to his mouth and bit his wrist, breaking the delicate skin covering dark blue veins. A thin strand of crimson blood covered his skin. Jase lifted his hand to my mouth and waited. I stared at Jase, wide-eyed and confused. "What?" Jase groaned and offered his blood to me once again. "Do you want me to drink it? It's blood, Jase," I stated the obvious, knowing that he was asking me something very crucial with this action… something that could have fatal consequences if I gave the wrong answer. Instead of reaching for his hand, I touched the scar on my neck. Somehow I had anticipated that it was never going to recover fully, and I surprisingly am very on board with that fact. Jase was still offering me his bleeding wrist, drop by drop; the blood painted my t-shirt red. The look of his eyes was turning from expectant to desperate. My heart ached, so I kissed the corner of his mouth. He looked less desperate, but there was still an edge to it. "What will you do if I accept your offer?" I asked quietly, and when Jase's hand started dropping, I grabbed it. Jase held his breath for a moment, waiting for my next move. I was about to lick the strand of blood from the smooth skin when suddenly Jase winced and pulled his hand away from my grip, covering his ears, looking startled as he glanced at the window and then at the door. I frowned, but Jase was already on his feet, watching the door and backing into my bedroom. I had no idea what was happening until I heard a car engine roar coming from outside. I sighed. Great timing, Val, I thought wryly.
