Chapter 3: What the doctor ask

Lisa unwrapped his arm and quickly get up from the couch and jogged up to the sink. She have not been feeling well for a few days. She just felt constant nausea even though she didn’t eat anything. So tonight, Lucas was supposed to go out with her for a date. But seeing that his girlfriend is not feeling well, they decided to just have a movie night.

Lucas, who is still sitting on the couch looked over to her to watch her. He felt strange with her behavior lately. It’s not that she’s changed, he just felt like Lisa is having another world out from him.

“Maybe we should just check to the doctor.” He suggested, seeing that she’s not quite well. He’s worried for her and sometimes, she would complained about a headache. They wouldn’t know what’s happening to her before she check herself to a doctor.

“Maybe.” She walked back to the couch, to his awaiting arms. Plopping down on the couch, Lisa curled up to him. She just need comfort and Lucas is the only one she have right now and she would go to him whenever she need comfort besides her family. She is so far away from her family because of the study. She chose to study in The UK, just slightly away from home. She wanted a fresh look and view on the study.

“I’ll go with you when you go to the doctor.” He said, then giving her a warm kiss on the cheek.

“But, didn’t you have a test tomorrow?” She remembered him telling her about an important test in a few days and he can’t missed it.

“I am, but I can go with you for a while.” He would go with her to accompany her, because he doesn’t want her to feel lonely and it will get boring while waiting. But besides that, he is honestly curious about her condition. He can just feel it that something is changing within her.

“No, you need to focus on the test. I don’t want you to fail. I can go alone or even with my brother.” Lisa said, insisting that Lucas should just stay focused on his test.

“Are you sure?” He asked.

“Yes, I am. Thank you for your attention.” Lisa turned her head and grabbed his face to give him a kiss on the lips. She’s grateful to have him as her partner.

“It’s what I do best.” He replied cockily and Lisa couldn’t help but chuckled. Why did she have to realize it now? Lucas is a sweet guy and every girls wants him to be their boyfriend. But she can’t feel it now, not anymore after she met Daniel. Deep down in her heart, she felt bad.

They spend the rest of the night watching movies and cuddling to each other.

Lucas have gone to the campus since he have a test for today and Lisa have texted her brothers to see who is available today. Surprisingly, Luis said he can be here today. Lisa purposely leave the occasion on why she need them. She would just tell her brother on the spot rather than to have explain a long ass why over the phone.

Knock. Knock.

When she heard the front door being knocked, she knew that Luis have arrived. She quickly make her way to the door to open the door for her oldest brother. She saw him standing in front of the door with one of his hand inside of his pants pocket and the other one is holding his phone.

“What’s wrong? Why do you need me here?” Luis asked, looking at Lisa with a gentle and concerned look. When they got a text from Lisa yesterday, one of them have to make it. Since Lisa have barely asking for a favor, because she have a potential boyfriend who live with her. So, they don’t have to worry about her well-being. They have approved of him.

“I need you to take me to Dr. Mikhail right now.” Lisa said to him without even offering him to get in first.

“Why? Are you sick? Why Dr. Mikhail? You can just visit a regular doctor.” Luis asked continuously. After hearing that Lisa wanted to see their private doctor, it’s more than just a flu then. Dr. Mikhail is their private doctor while he also work in one of the hospital in the city here. He was vowed to keep their family’s condition a secret and no one is allowed to know, hear, or see.

“I was not feeling well for the past few days and I want to do a checkup.” She explained it to him, now worrying about his reaction.

“Okay, let’s go. I’ll call him on the way.” Without further question asked, Luis agreed to drive her to see Dr. Mikhail. She have been nervous and have an assumption about her condition, but she pushed that assumption to the back of her head. She doesn’t want to burden herself before finding out the truth. If her assumption turns out to be true, that is why she have been feeling guilty.

Lisa go back inside to get her back and jacket, then lock her door before they walked to his car which is parked on the side of the road.

Throughout the walk to the car, Luis’ eyes never leave his phone. He’s constantly checking and checking. “You’ve been partying on the dock.” Then he just found out about the party she held a month ago. The guards have just informed him since he just checking up with her situation here in The UK. He always do that once in a while, not like Jacques who is told to keep an eye on Lisa at all time.

“Don’t put it like that. It was just once and it was a month ago.” She defended herself.

“How’s your grade, better?” Luis decided not to make a big deal about the party, since nothing happened that harm her. So, like a good brother he is, he asked about her study.

“Better.” She answered. Luis only nodded, taking in the information.

After they get in to the car, Luis started to drive the car to the hospital Dr. Mikhail is working at. Even though he’s a public doctor, that’s his side job. Once Lisa graduate later and come back home, he will also move back to the hospital in Marselli, where they live.

Arriving at the hospital, Luis guided her straight to his office. They don’t need to go to the front desk, they just walked in to his office since he have been noticed.

“Morsettelli.” Dr. Mikhail greeted them and gestured them to take a seat. “What can I help you with?” He asked, but his eyes already inspecting the both of them to find any injuries. But the both of them looked perfectly fine in his eyes. So, that’s why he’s confused with their sudden visit.

“Lisa want to do a checkup.” Luis said to the point, glancing at his sister who have been quiet. He knew something was wrong just by seeing her today at her doorstep. He asked the guards who is watching over the dock, but they didn’t saw anything suspicious when she held the party. It was just a normal party like how she would did it.

”How are you feeling?” Dr. Mikhail asked Lisa, looking at her solely to find the problem.
