Charles has been staring at the woman relentlessly. From afar, Sam can see that Charles has an indescribably special feeling about her. From the look in his eyes, Sam could easily see tenderness and care. Charles has never looked at a woman like this before. From what he could recall, Charles has been living as a single bachelor for so long when they met. Above all, he has been super allergic to women that he shouts at them when they get near him. It is for this reason that all of Charles' assistants and secretaries are men. Except for his maids who are all aged women, he doesn't want to be surrounded by young and beautiful ladies. Honestly, Sam has doubted Charles' sexuality before because of this attitude, but knowing him as his friend, he never brought the issue out as a sign of respect. However, what he is looking at now clarified some of Sam's doubts. Although not all of the questions in his head are answered, at least he realized a possible reason for Charles' attitude.
"What happened to her? Why is she here? She never changed a bit. She still looks as lovely as before. Her eyes are beautiful. Her eyelashes are long. Her hair is still as black and as soft as before. Ah, she still prefers to keep it long. Oh, her bangs. She never grew it." Looking at the woman on his bed, Charles has never removed his gaze from her. He has been missing her every single day ever since they separated at law school. If only he had stood his ground then. If only he was strong enough to fight for her at that time. If only...
"If she wakes up, will she recognize me? Will she slap me on the face or shout at me?" Charles has been trying to answer these questions in his mind. He felt pain sting his heart. Deep inside, he had wanted this moment not to pass, this moment that he can keep staring at her innocent and lovely face. However, he knows that he can't keep her like this. She has to wake up so that he can be sure that she is really safe.
Charles got tired for sitting on the bedside for a long time that he unknowingly fell asleep with his head lying on the side of the bed. After forcing Sam to stay until the woman gains consciousness, he went back to the bedside, held the woman's hand and continued his staring posture until he fell asleep.
Suddenly, the woman's fingers moved. "Ohhh," she whined as she put her hand on her head. Charles was surprised that he woke up in an instant. The woman's eyes slowly opened. A little while passed when Charles realized that something must be wrong. "Wait, there is something wrong, why is she staring at me blankly? Why does she seem to be clueless of who I am?" With these questions in mind, Charles hysterically shouted, "Sam, come here in an instant!"
