Chapter 11

656 Words
Charles slowly opened his eyes to meet Eleanor’s sweet face staring lovingly at him. He smiled. “Good morning, love,” he softly said. Ah! What a wonderful feeling in the morning to wake up with the face of the person you love as the first thing you see. “Good morning, love,” Eleanor looks genuinely happy herself. “Are you not forgetting something today?” Charles said. “Of course. Tell me, dear husband,” Eleanor smiled. “Today is our wedding day.” “Wedding? I thought we’re already married?” Eleanor sat up on the bed. Charles sat up facing her. “Not yet, love. We just call each other husband and wife, but we planned to get married today. So we’d better wake up and prepare for it. It’ll happen in three hours.” “Oh! Then let’s get going.” Eleanor motioned to stand up, but Charles caught her right arm. “I thought we’re preparing?” Eleanor looked confused. “We are, love,” Charles replied with a naughty smile. “But I can’t get up without a kiss.” Eleanor smiled. “Wait until later, honey,” she teased him. “We’re not yet married.” “You’re gonna let me wait?” Charles pretended to be disappointed. “That’s called suffering the one you love the most.” “Ha, ha, ha!” Eleanor laughed as she let her arm lose. Charles smiled. If only things like these happen everyday. Starting today, we will have good memories together, Charles promised to himself as he saw Eleanor going to the bathroom to prepare. He will marry her today. He can’t still believe that it’s gonna happen. Seven years. He waited for seven years for her to come back. At the thought of this, Charles’ eyes moistened. Now, all those years of waiting and suffering alone is coming to an end. For that, he is thankful. Even if he’s marrying her without her memories, he is still grateful. At least, they can start somewhere again. “Let tomorrow trouble itself. Just focus on what’s happening today,” he reminded himself. “Love, are you still not getting up?” Eleanor got out of the bathroom. “How can I? I have no energy. I need my love’s kiss to get stronger,” he teased her. Eleanor came closer to him. She got nearer his ears and whispered, “The problem is I can only kiss my husband after he took a bath,” she teased back. “Ah!” Charles shouted and pulled her closer to him. Seriously, he looked at her in the eyes. “Kiss me.” Slowly, Eleanor’s face came closer to his. When their lips were about to meet, Eleanor smiled. “Love, I’ll kiss you later,” she said and quickly pulled herself back. “Ah!” Charles shouted again. “You’re letting me suffer.” “Ha, ha, ha!” Eleanor laughed loudly. “The thrill will be gone if I’ll kiss you before our wedding day.” “But I already kissed you yesterday,” Charles complained. “Well, that’s a kiss of comfort. I was scared so I let you kiss me. Now, I’m not so you must pay the price. Marry me first.” Eleanor let out a loud laugh again. “Now, get up and prepare or I’ll change my mind.” “Okay, okay, okay. Don’t change your mind, my love. I will get up and prepare,” Charles got up with a smile on his face. Ha! Wait until later. I’ll kiss you as long as I want!
