Chapter 3 Patricia POV **Warning Violence PG 13+ We all walked outside and went into the training building where my testing would begin. All the warriors who were inside training were dismissed and asked to leave immediately. Our trainer, Xander, remained present because I was already familiar with him and everyone figured I would be less nervous with him there to help test me. Xander and I began lightly sparring. He explained to me that he would begin incorporating small injuries to me as we sparred to simulate injuries I may receive in battle. I nodded in understanding. Soon I began to feel light scrapes and scratches from his werewolf claws. Those small wounds healed instantly. Next came light punches and soft bites to my body. Those bites and bruises also healed instantly. p The next step was to begin with more significant injuries. Xander began to strike me harder and faster than before but noticed that my wounds continued to instantly heal. He twisted my arm to break it as well as my wrist. I watched as my bones instantly reset themselves and healed. He continued breaking bones in my legs, feet, hands, face, spine, and ribcage. In each case the same thing occurred. My bones would instantly reset themselves and heal. My father made them stop for the day. He feared they would be tempted to instruct him to cut off a limb or deal me a fatal blow. After we finished for the day, I ate dinner and took a long hot bath before going to bed. I worried that I would feel very sore the next morning, but when I woke up, I felt perfectly fine. ] Alpha Vincent mind-linked me to see him in his office after I finished my breakfast. He told me that Vin was downstairs waiting for me. When I walked down the stairs near the kitchen, I found him waiting right at the bottom of the stairs for me. He took my hand in his and led me to the breakfast table, just like he did yesterday. I could sit down while omegas from the kitchen staff brought us a plate full of breakfast foods and several pitchers of beverages. “Gosh, I’m feeling like royalty,” I told Vin. “You deserve it, “he said. “They really put you through a lot yesterday and you never complained. I was so proud of you,” he beamed. “He is really laying it on thick,” Morgan scoffed in my head. “I know, right?” I spoke. I wondered what he was buttering us up for. After breakfast, I went upstairs to my room and changed into my training attire. I found Vin waiting for me outside of my door again just like he did yesterday. He escorted me to the Alpha’s office, and I was having a sense of déjà vu as the Alpha’s office had the same men sitting inside, including my father. The Alpha asked me how I was feeling after yesterday’s tests. “I feel perfectly fine,” I told him.” He asked me if I felt up to doing more testing today and I agreed that I could continue. Once again, we went outside and walked to the training building. Once the gym was cleared, we began. This time, in addition to Xander, one of the Elders also joined me. The addition of the Elder made both myself and my wolf nervous. We did not trust him. Like yesterday, Xander and I began lightly sparring to warm up. I was focused on Xander when I suddenly felt pain in my left thigh. I looked down to see that the Elder had ran my leg through with a spear. “What the hell is this? my father boomed and stood up to come to my aid. Jut then the elder pulled out the spear from my thigh and quickly ran it through my bicep, my stomach, and my left eye. My father reached him and began punching him. He mind-linked my brother, Patrick, and a few minutes later, my brother was standing in front of me in a protective stance. I heard a loud growl from beside us and realized it was coming from Vin. He joined my father and aggressively began yelling at the same Elder that my father was fighting with. “Hmm, so maybe he is developing feelings for me? Protective ones at least,” I thought. Just then we all heard a thunderous growl erupt and echo throughout the room. “ENOUGH,” my Alpha boomed. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at him. He pointed towards me and announced that I was healed and perfectly fine. “Amazing,” the Elder said. He apologized to us but stated that he was ordered to do this by the Head Elder because he knew my father would never allow it and it was important for them to know. “Take your sister to her room before someone tries to cut her head off,” my father orders my brother. “Stay there and guard her until I get there,” he said. My brother picked me up and carried me back to my room with Vin in toe. “Get out of her room,” my brother ordered Vin. “You won’t be able to fight against all three Elders alone should they decide to try to harm her again,” Vin yelled back. “I am staying,” he insisted. “Fine,” my brother sighed, “but if anything happens to her before my father arrives, I will end you. I don’t care whose son you are!” “I won’t let anything happen to her, I promise,” Vin said as he walked over to me. Then he wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. I heard my wolf, Morgan, sigh in my head and both of us felt comforted by him. I wanted to make fun of her for giving in to his “charm” but decided against it. We both deserved our moment and allowed him to console us. Vin POV I am so incredibly angry right now. How dare that Elder stab her repeatedly with a spear. If her father were not already arguing with him, I would have stabbed him with that spear myself. I understand that tensions are high right now, but I want Patricia and her brother to know that I had nothing to do with it and that I would protect her. I will someday be Alpha. I want this pack to know I care about them and that they can trust me to do everything in my power to protect them. Her brother caught me by surprise when he attempted to kick me out of her room. He acted like I was in on it somehow. He was being irrational and not thinking clearly. If anymore of those Elders came to try to attack her, or worse, kidnap her then how would he stop them all by himself? He is a good warrior but not when numbers are against him. I told him I am staying. I will protect her, regardless of what he says. He has no authority over me.
