CHAPTER 57

ANGRY WOLF Down at the cafeteria, no one could come close to the fighting pair. It was more like Billie was being pummeled nonstop by the growling Nicole. A soft red-like aura enveloped them, pulsing steadily, coming from Nicole, causing everyone to keep their distance. The chatter was at a frenzy at the strange occurrence happening. Speculations filled the room as each person came up with their own reason for the strange aura and the sudden strength of the girl who they knew to be a weak omega. Nicole was having a field day with the screaming Billie, who was failing miserably at blocking all the punches directed her towards her face. Her focus was on the person beneath her. Nicole’s brown eyes were surrounded by a purple ring round them. The growling voice in her head chanting the same words over and over. Break her face. Break her face. How dare she accuse us of stealing our mates? How dare she claim Vance is hers? She stopped punching, wrapping her hands around the neck of her opponent, and began to squeeze. The throbbing vessel in her opponent’s neck, spurred her to press down hard, enjoying how the throbbing was slowing down. I am going to kill this b***h! The voice growled in her head. “Somebody stop them! She’s going to kill my sister!” Millie screamed in horror, watching the scene unfolding before her. But no one came to her sister’s rescue. Vince and Vance, with the others, burst into the cafeteria, sweating and panting, their eyes roaming the place, searching for their mate. The crowd instantly made way for them. “Thank the goddess you are here, Vance. Stop her! She’s going to kill Billie!” Millie ran to meet them, but both growled at her, causing her to jump away from them. “What the…” both gasped, seeing the aura in the room, mouths agape. Their eyes widened further at the people inside. Or person. “Nicole!” Vince screamed, rushing forward. Nicole swung her head towards them, her purple eyes shocking them further. “Stay back! She called us mate stealers and liars.” She growled. Vance inched closer, though not afraid of his mate’s rage, he paused. “And she will be punished for it. Brown eyes, let her go, please.” He knew she wasn’t herself right now and didn’t want her to do what she would regret later. “She threatened the omegas, also,” Nicole added more pressure to the neck in her hands, her rage rising as she remembered the threat. The idea of Billie even thinking of hurting the omegas sparked her anger further. “She will pay for that too,” Vince moved forward too. He warily stretched his hand towards the aura and with a finger poked it. “If we don’t stop her, she’s going to kill Billie. We can’t let her.” he linked his brother. “We have to enter,” Vance said, touching the side of the red circle. “Doesn’t feel harmful.” Vince slipped a finger inside it without any problem. Seeing that it wasn’t harmful, he pushed his hand fully in and stepped inside, heading straight for his mate. “Nicole, baby, let her go.” He whispered softly, as he held her shoulders. Her body tensed before relaxing. “Come on.” He used a bit of strength to pull her off the bruised and groaning Billie. The aura immediately vanished and Nicole collapsed in his hands. “Nicole!” Vince shook her body, feeling for her pulse. “Let me take her,” Vance picked her up, cradling her against his chest. His hands shook as they held her. “What happened here?” Vince growled at the crowd, his grey eyes almost turning silver as they traveled around the sea of faces in the room. “She...this omega…” Millie starts to speak but is cut off by a mighty roar from the alphas. “She’s your Luna, you will show her the respect she deserves!” The room breaks into wild chatter at his declaration. “She was saying the truth.” “She’s the Luna.” “She defended the omegas.” “They are her mates.” “The Ashton girls were lying.” “Silence!” Vince quietened the room. “We will call a meeting and everyone will tell us what happened. No one must leave the pack for any reason.” Vince addressed the room, before dishing out an order. “Now everybody, scram!” The cafeteria was a flurry of activities as the students rushed out, not waiting to be told a second time. “But…” Millie starts, sobbing. “That’s a command, Millie,” Vince warned her sternly. She stomped away, grumbling. Tim joined Vance on the ground. “ Vince looked round the place. His eyes settled first on the fallen tray, then to the crushed flowers, and finally resting on Billie. He crouched down and felt for her pulse. His eyes grew hard as he looked down at the unconscious girl. “She’ll live. Her wolf should kick in soon.” He spat as he rose to his feet. “What do you think happened?” Vance asked, all the while following his brother’s gaze, and now gazing at the sleeping face of his mate. Vince clenched his feet. “She got the flowers. And your ex happened.” “Do we need to do this now?” Vince scowled at his brother. “Just saying. She’s going to pay.” Vince gritted his teeth in annoyance as he looked at the unconscious Billie again. “As she should. Just stop bringing up what is not worth bringing up,” Vince hissed, arranging Nicole well in his arms and rising to his feet. “Adam, get her to the hospital. Once she’s treated, take her to the cells.” Vince ordered. “And no one is permitted to see her,” Vance added. “Yes, Alphas,” Adam replies, calling the other warriors to pick up the unconscious girl. The Alphas and Tim watch as the men take her out. “Was that Nicole? Did she do that to Billie?” Tim chuckled in disbelief. “That was her wolf,” Vince sighed. “A very strange wolf,” Vance added, looking at his brother. “Could she be…” His brother met his eyes before looking down at his mate. “You’re not saying she is the one.” “Only one way to find out,” Vince replied. “What are you talking about?” Tim asked. “Nicole could be a special wolf. An important wolf,” Vance replied.
