CHAPTER 82

1093 Words
VANCE WHOSE SIDE? When Millie stops trashing on the floor, Vince squats beside her, checking her pulse. “She’ll be fine.” Then we continue with the rest students. “She and her sister are now omegas. And anyone who dares to do the same thing they did to Nicole Bennyson will be in the same boat as them,” Vince announces to the remaining students, looking round their faces to make himself clear. “No one will bully her anymore in this pack. At school, work or anywhere you find her. If you find anyone bullying her, it’s your duty as pack members to report it to my brother and me,” he announces further. “Not just Nicole, no one will be bullied in this pack anymore,” I add. No one deserved to be bullied for any reason whatsoever. “Are we clear?” Vince asks, receiving affirmations. “Good. Does anyone have a question they would like to ask?” he asks again, scanning the room for raised hands. A hand shyly rises from the crowd. “What?!” Vince snaps at the owner of the hand. “Is she your mate?” “Yes, she’s your Luna! Now scram, everyone!” he bellows and the kids scramble out of their chairs, rushing for the door. “What’s his name?” I jump straight to the point, when the last student closes the door. “Ben,” Vince replies, sighing as he sinks in to a seat. “Do we know him?” Shaking his head. “He doesn’t look too familiar. A Gamma male.” “How was she with him?” I had to know if she harboured any feelings for this individual. Even if little. “She defended him. Arguing with me for warning him off. She seemed oblivious to his interest in her.” “We need to speak to this Ben and warn him to stay away.” “That won’t be necessary. We just announced to the students who she is to us. They are bound to spread the news round the pack,” Vince explains. “And the pack dinner is tomorrow. She’s going to be sitting between us. We will announce her as our Luna to the pack.” I nod in agreement with Vince’s explanation. Once the entire pack sees her with us at dinner, they would know. “Where is she now?” “Shopping with Savvy and her friend, Mira.” “She needs things? Did you provide her with money?” She’s our mate and we are obligated to provide for her needs from now on. “It’s not for her. It’s her friend’s Mating ceremony next week.” “Oh,” I recall Dad asking Mel about the mating ceremony plans. “Are you sure she’s not getting anything for herself?” My wolf and I are itching to provide for all her needs. A natural instinct for us. “She refused my offer, and before you ask me any more questions, she asked about you and why your scent is gone.” My heart clenches at the reminder. She still is concerned about this issue with my scent. “What do we do, Vince? I can’t stop thinking of what she will do if she finds out the truth. It’s killing me.” He sighs tiredly. “Maye we can ask Torin for help when he returns.” “But we don’t know when he will be back.” “We can’t ask Billie because we both know she won’t talk, and besides, she just got demoted.” I frown at his words. “You didn’t visit her in the cell on your way here, did you?” “I sent her a mindlink after finishing with Millie,” he growls, his eyes darkening. Though the bond between twins is a strong, I’ve never heard of a demotion done through a mindlink. The alpha usually must look into the eyes of a wolf to carry out the command. He shrugs nonchalantly. “I just had an inkling to do so. Ares said he felt we had the power to do so. I just went with the flow.” Strange. “So, what’s our next plan?” “After the pack dinner tomorrow, we need Dad to lift the alpha command on her immediately. That could help to bring her wolf out.” He’s right. Keeping her wolf under the wrong rank could have dire consequences for both her and her wolf. It’s like living like a pauper when your parents are wealthy. Nicole is an alpha wolf commanded to think and believe she is an omega wolf. Living under such a condition has made her lose not just her rank but her strength too. It also made her to think and act like an omega. Not that there was anything wrong with omegas, they are after all, wolves like us, they were just wired differently from other ranks. Omega wolves have their own strength and attributes, but not like that of those in the upper hierarchy. Alphas, Betas and Gammas are the top three with much strength and heightened senses. Omegas are often termed weak and useless by the other ranks. Something we are both equally guilty of and that has come to bite us in the ass. “Let’s hope that when her wolf comes out, she won’t attack him. Or us.” he glances briefly at me before averting his gaze, suddenly interested in his fingers. Nicole’s wolf could attack our father for keeping her locked up and deceived. It was going to be tough for both us and our father. If her wolf attacks him, his wolf, Tiger, would definitely want to shift and defend both our father and himself. Both were alphas and would not back down unless one of them yielded. Nicole being the Firewolf, would most likely be stronger than him. This is just an assumption. Tiger is a strong and skilled wolf that never backed down from a fight. He has a soft spot for her just like our father. I am hundred percent certain that both of them would not want to fight her. “Let’s hope Tiger will understand and we can talk to Nicole to help with her wolf,” I suggest. “What about us?” he looks back at me, the meaning of his words fully understood by me. “Whose side will we choose if things don’t go as we hope?”
