CHAPTER 28

AWAKE 3 “My love, explain to us what you’re talking about, please.” Vince pleads, holding my hand, which I struggle to pull off from his. “I am not your love! Stop calling me that!” How dare he call me that. “You know who your love is. Stop pranking me, please.” I sob. Why is it hurting me? Why am I hurting that my mates are calling me such sweet names? Nothing bad with it, right? Yet, it’s hurting because they rejected me on one of the most important days of my life. Not forgetting that they’ve hated me for as long as I can remember “What’s going on here?” Mel enters, looking round the room and seeing my face, frowns. “You both need to leave. My patient needs to rest.” He rushes to my side as he speaks, looking down at the discarded food on the ground. “I thought you two were going to let her eat.” He looks at the two of them then back to me. “She got angry and threw the food away,” Vince replies getting up. “I think she’s had enough for today.” “We will stay with…” “I don’t want them to stay, doc,” I have had enough of them for today and maybe forever. “Nic…” “I think it’s best you give her some space. She hasn’t seen her family yet. And the Alpha.” Mel tells them as I settle well under the sheets, feeling the strain of a headache coming. “Fine. We will wait outside.” Vance says in a sad voice. I groan inside at the sound of his voice. What games are these two playing with me? I close my eyes taking a deep breath when they leave the room. “Take all the time you need, Nicole. You don’t have to rush to do anything.” Mel tells me with a light squeeze on my arm and a small smile. “Thanks, doc.” “I will send someone to come clean this and bring another tray of food.” Mel says as he leaves the room. I curl into a ball as I try sending a link to my family members. Still nothing. UNKNOWN POV’S The man’s eyes glowed a crimson red as he pounded into the female in front of him. He held her hips in place as he rode on the wings of the immense pleasure he was aiming for. Her screams prodding him on, inching him close to his peak. “Ahh! Alpha!” His eyes glowed a deeper red, a dangerous shade only seen when his emotions are heightened either positively or negatively. He grabbed her hair, pulling her back to his strong chest and biting the tip of her ear. “Call me alpha again.” he commanded crisply in a deep baritone voice. His thrusts picking up. Enjoying how her muscles clenched his length tight. “Alpha!” she whimpered. He removed his hand from her waist, smacking her cheeks, “Again!” “Alpha!” “Again!” he roared, smacking her harder as he felt himself about to lose control. Her pink cheeks and moans tipping him towards the edge. ‘Alpha!” she screamed out. He dropped her hair, held both sides of her waist, his fingers digging into her flesh, thrusting faster, hammering his length into her, chasing his pleasure. “Call me alpha!” he barked at her through gritted teeth, throwing his head back. “Alpha!” He pulled back, sliding his length out of her, shooting his juice all over her cheeks and waist, groaning with eyes shut. The stars gradually dying out as he rubbed his throbbing length over her smooth olive skin, collapsing on the bed when he was done. The she-wolf scrambled out of bed without waiting for him to tell her to. Picking her clothes from the floor, she whimpered as she ran out of the room. “Alpha.” His Beta sent him a link. “Have they arrived?” “We have bad news.” His red eyes glowed a deeper shade as he got up from bed. “What do you mean?” He strolled to the window, his crimson eyes scanning the pack he had just overthrown their alpha. His men were handling the members as he had ordered. “They killed all of them.” “What pack?” He clenched his fists, the muscles in his arms rippling, his jaw tightening. “Firestone Pack.” “And Agatha?” “I am sorry, Alpha Kaden. She didn’t make it.” He closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath. Releasing it slowly in short bursts, his chest quaked as a deep growl rumbled within him. With a deafening roar, his aura shoots out, his eyes a deeper shade of red, his canines out and itching to bite down on someone. The room bore witness to his ferocity as he destroyed everything in his path. Furniture splintering and shattering as his powerful blows landed. The air crackled with the intensity of his rage. His voice, when he spoke, was a menacing growl, each word dripping with the venom of his fury. “I will make them pay for this. They won’t live to tell the tale.” His witch was gone, the only person capable of aiding him in his relentless quest. “Alpha!” his Beta’s urgent voice echoed through their mental link. “Any news on whether she located the girl?” he inquired, determined not to let Agatha's death be in vain. “We're uncertain. Our spy reported that no one survived the attack.” “Instruct him to gather more information, or his neck will be the first casualty when I take control of that pack.” “Yes, Alpha.” “Find me another coven.” “Yes, Alpha.” Despite Agatha’s demise, his plan would not be thwarted. All he required was another witch to continue where Agatha had stopped. The challenge lay in finding a witch as formidable and willing as Agatha. Agatha became the fifth witch to lose her life for his cause. She had willingly offered herself up when he and his pack had attacked her coven, seeking a witch to help him. Being a rebel of some sort quickly made her join his bandwagon and fight against her kind. The Mother Superior of the witches had refused to help him craft the Fire of Selene, the key to locating the Firewolf. This mythical wolf with extraordinary powers, created by Selene, possessed a piece of the Moon Goddess’s essence. A wolf that would grant her mate with powers such as speedy healing, enormous strength and more. Powers he wanted, to become the most powerful werewolf, Alpha and supernatural, by mating and marking her. He would be King and she his Queen. Together they would rule all supernaturals. Have children that would continue their dynasty. He swore to make the Firewolf his, regardless of her current mating status. whoever she is. If she already had a mate, he was prepared to eliminate the competition, using both his werewolf strength and the powers he had. Thanks to his dealings with witches, he was able to acquire certain strengths and powers offered either willingly or under duress by the witches who had been unfortunate to fight him. After draining them of their powers, he killed them off. Wiping covens as he took over packs that their alphas were foolish enough to challenge him. Agatha had been his most proficient witch, crafting for him the Fire of Selene, her knowledge of potions and spells unmatched, never failing for once. Until now. Making him wonder who could have been so powerful enough to defeat her in the Firestone Pack? “I will avenge you, my loyal witch,” he vowed. “And I am going to find my Firewolf.” He signaled his Beta through a link. “I need a bath and a new apartment.” “Yes, Alpha.”
